Yeah, that's why I said they can't go "more than one episode" with this. The one episode I'm referring to is Part 1. It's this second episode that's deciding to toss out the good storyline for the sake of status quo.First-Aid wrote:Ummm, it's a two part episode.

In that case, why should they care about any character at all? Fresh new TF fans would have never heard of any of these characters, no matter how iconic their names may be, yet they could still care about them upon getting to know them. Same goes for Orion Pax.First-Aid wrote:Why would the kids that watch the show care about a character they've never heard of before?

No, he lost his memory from before becoming Prime forward.GiveMeSkyfire wrote:What did you expect? He lost his memory from becoming prime forward not since creation.
And that's what I like about him. He isn't stupid. He'd be able to see through Megatron's scheme and side with the Autobots all on his own. He doesn't need his memories to know which side is the side of good.GiveMeSkyfire wrote:Would it make any sense to have him roll with the Decepticons longer than it takes him to figure out they are a bunch of sociopaths? He was never a stupid bot, just less powerfull. It only took Skyfire a half episode to figure that out.
He could still go back to the Autobots and be put in the seat of leadership without needing to have his memories restored. Sure, they could try to bring his past back, but they don't need to succeed. Some of the best Autobot (or Maximal) leaders of previous series were those who weren't the perfect commanders and were instead just Average Joes thrust into the role of leader, having to grow and develop into becoming the heroes that they were meant to become. I say again that Animated Optimus fit this description so well and he was a great character. He wasn't a Mr. Perfect leader like other Optimuses were, as he too was a growing character who we could watch as he developed throughout the show. The team leader does not need to be the cardboard cutout character that we often see. He can be a regular everyman like the rest of us, only with the job of being in charge.GiveMeSkyfire wrote:Best you could hope for is him returning to the Autobots as a rank and file soldier and have some other character step up as leader, new or otherwise. And lets face it, that's just not going to happen. As long as hes alive he kinds has to be "Prime."
He's probably just as strong as he was before, but now he probably feels less confident and more uncertain of himself.GiveMeSkyfire wrote:Only question is he weaker now without the Matrix or is he the same like in the episode from G1 after using it to cure the red plague without the memories. I personally think its more a temporary amnesia from the shock of the experience.

Magnus was Supreme Commander in that show, yes, but Optimus was still the leader of his own crew, who were the stars of that show.GiveMeSkyfire wrote:I only caught bits and pieces of Animated TF. IIRC, wasn't he subordinate to Magnus in that series?

Transformers Prime : Orion Pax - Part 2
(First Aired: February 25, 2012)
Jack learns how to restore Optimus' memory.
Then make that "two" episodes that they can't go more than without dropping the unique idea.Mkall wrote:I think you're jumping to conclusions Sabrblade:Transformers Prime : Orion Pax - Part 2

it says "learns." It doesn't say "Jack does restore." Of course going by the old adage "knowing is half the battle" maybe it'll be cured in ep 3 instead?
About that, do they know that this plot is, as you said, "one of the biggest game changes in TF history"? To them, this could have just been a shock factor to end the first season and kick start the second season so that a different plot to carry out for the rest of season 2. Or-- Wait a sec!Mkall wrote:I'm hoping for a nice drawn-out, character-building season. I somehow think the devs aren't stupid enough to reverse one of the biggest game changes in TF history.
