The Cyberverse Ironhide does look significantly different, in all of the right ways, and Irohide is my Child hood favorite, so I'm hoping he gets a good deluxe, voyager, and/or leader size figure.

But as for this new head mold, it is one hell of a longshot, BUT I HOPE IT'S TF PRIME'S KUP!!!!!!!!! :D

I know Ratchet is kind of already filling that whole Kup persona, but G1 Ratchet was cranky like that too. Kup would be sweet in TF Prime. :D

Aligned Sentinel Prime = Aligned Zeta Prime. Sentinel Zeta Prime is dead.

And I doubt Hasbro would make two same-named individuals this time in this continuity (unless there's some super special reason given for such a case).

they've already got 2 completely different Bumblebees; WFC and Prime.

Now that's interesting too! Kup would be awesome. He'd already popped up in an easter egg in the DS version of War for Cybertron, so who knows...

Not totally the same thing, but close.
Prime is a different line altogether. They wouldn't just make two entirely different looks for the same character. That would leave one of the two being show-accurate, and the other not. Deluxe Ironhide will most likely look a lot like Cyberverse Ironhide.

Neither Deluxe Ironhide nor Cyberverse Ironhide, nor any million or so other potential size classes and designs will be show accurate, if he doesn't turn up on the show.

has no one ever thought that it could have been a prototype head that they used before the final design was rendered up?

lets rule out the following then;

Ironhide has a new mould in the cyberverse line, so they have already established that they could upscale that mould and release it as part of the main figure line. In fact its easier to make a smaller scale model and then upscale it with the computer software, as the 3x or 5x upscale is where its designed on the computer.

Ratchet's new look head could be a prototype - or it could be a screwup with the image (mostlikely a screw up with the image department in producing the instruction scans being the better option.)

if it is a repaint, then i have a feeling that it will be either a non descript decepticon, or they will be reusing the name to protect the i.p/copyright of the name. i guess its the waiting game

Artistic liberties due to two different animation studios and art styles.

Plus, it's told from Ratchet, who was not present during any of the events he described in that flashback to witness them personally.

Here's what Orion Pax and Megatronus/Megatron really looked like back then:

why would they have a complete design of a figure and design a new head just to not use it?

the same thing happened with wfc cliffjumper, wfc bumblebee had cliffs head in the insturctions and thereby revealed wfc cliffjumper

I'm still continuing to treat WFC/FOC and Prime as two different continuities, regardless of what Hasbro states. They're just too different to me.

But anyway, I have no idea who this could be. I'm guessing some random new character, but it's possible they could surprise us.

That can be used against your reason for that not being Cybertron Ratchet too, although I personally think its highly unlikely that they'd make a Cybertron Ratchet that has an Earth alt-mode and a completely different head.

I know that's what they looked like in the Exodus comic (although they called it WFC), but I don't think that represents what they would've looked like in Prime. They were just cashing in on WFC.

kirbenvost wrote:I'm still continuing to treat WFC/FOC and Prime as two different continuities, regardless of what Hasbro states. They're just too different to me.

WFC is completely incompatible with Prime. Exodus is slightly more compatible if you are REALLY lenient with what you are willing to ignore the large amount of continuity differences. But I suppose that's OK because Exodus was TERRIBLY written and contradicts itself constantly throughout the novel. Anyway, WFC is NOT the same story as Exodus, despite what Hasbro says. They are completely different having far less similarities than differences to each other. Hasbro's whole aligned continuity is stupid and I believe should just be ignored.

Sorry! I went off topic there, but was just putting my two cents in.
