has no one ever thought that it could have been a prototype head that they used before the final design was rendered up?

lets rule out the following then;

Ironhide has a new mould in the cyberverse line, so they have already established that they could upscale that mould and release it as part of the main figure line. In fact its easier to make a smaller scale model and then upscale it with the computer software, as the 3x or 5x upscale is where its designed on the computer.

Ratchet's new look head could be a prototype - or it could be a screwup with the image (mostlikely a screw up with the image department in producing the instruction scans being the better option.)

if it is a repaint, then i have a feeling that it will be either a non descript decepticon, or they will be reusing the name to protect the i.p/copyright of the name. i guess its the waiting game

He's dead, Jim. ;)

At this juncture I would like play the "Timelines" card and negate your logic. [-(
Aligned Sentinel Prime = Aligned Zeta Prime. Sentinel Zeta Prime is dead.

And I doubt Hasbro would make two same-named individuals this time in this continuity (unless there's some super special reason given for such a case).

they've already got 2 completely different Bumblebees; WFC and Prime.
WFC Bumblebee = Prime Bumblebee. WFC Bumblebee loses his voice (in two differently documented ways, but he does lose it).

Artistic liberties due to two different animation studios and art styles.

Plus, it's told from Ratchet, who was not present during any of the events he described in that flashback to witness them personally.

Here's what Orion Pax and Megatronus/Megatron really looked like back then:

why would they have a complete design of a figure and design a new head just to not use it?

the same thing happened with wfc cliffjumper, wfc bumblebee had cliffs head in the insturctions and thereby revealed wfc cliffjumper

I'm still continuing to treat WFC/FOC and Prime as two different continuities, regardless of what Hasbro states. They're just too different to me.

But anyway, I have no idea who this could be. I'm guessing some random new character, but it's possible they could surprise us.

Good point, maybe Gears? They are going to have to do some none-cartoon characters in order to keep this toyline afloat

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this.... but he looks like Red Alert from the Unicron Trilogy.

2002 — Ratchet the Japanese Micron Legend name for Armada Red Alert.

That can be used against your reason for that not being Cybertron Ratchet too, although I personally think its highly unlikely that they'd make a Cybertron Ratchet that has an Earth alt-mode and a completely different head.

I know that's what they looked like in the Exodus comic (although they called it WFC), but I don't think that represents what they would've looked like in Prime. They were just cashing in on WFC.

kirbenvost wrote:I'm still continuing to treat WFC/FOC and Prime as two different continuities, regardless of what Hasbro states. They're just too different to me.

WFC is completely incompatible with Prime. Exodus is slightly more compatible if you are REALLY lenient with what you are willing to ignore the large amount of continuity differences. But I suppose that's OK because Exodus was TERRIBLY written and contradicts itself constantly throughout the novel. Anyway, WFC is NOT the same story as Exodus, despite what Hasbro says. They are completely different having far less similarities than differences to each other. Hasbro's whole aligned continuity is stupid and I believe should just be ignored.

Sorry! I went off topic there, but was just putting my two cents in.

well it could be... nah wrong shape type for Brawn/Gears/Outback

but if it is a repaint into a con remember that they repaineted Cybertron Red Alert into The Decepticon Pirate Cannonball, and that Overhaul was repainted to Brushguard.

Could it be a repaint into Mudflap? Time will tell.

oh yeah and the only reason i brought up red alert was that it could be a decepticon repaint with a new head of the ratchet mode.

oh.. wait.. ya dont think it actually COULD be Red Alert??
