Rumble is a Transformer! Frenzy is also a Transformer!
(every time someone argues about what colour they are a protoform dies)

Dead End looks amazing. Yes, he's horribly coloured, but I think that's the point. He's my pre/post- BW Waspinator. The head works and he even has a nice green Decepticon symbol on him, which is probably the closest Hasbro is going to get to a Predacon one.

The Bumblebee repaint doesn't look particularly bad, but...it's a Bumblebee repaint, and missing the charming new head that made Hot Shot look good.

I'll probably get Airachnid. Seeing more and more pics I'm certainly less enthused than I was when I heard she was getting a toy, but like Dead End, she can be my stand-in for a vehicle mode Beast Wars character, in this case: Blackarachnia.

I like the Kup mold, but not as Kup, and honestly, not really as Iron Hide either. I do sort of like how the Cyberverse version is black and red, mixing the two more popular versions of the character, but either colourscheme in this deluxe will just be a duplicate that I don't need. A Turbomaster Scorch repaint would have been pre-ordered quickly.

Finally, the toy named Rumble. He looks quite goofy. Definitely be renaming him if I get him, maybe Crankcase? The head-chest makes me think of a Pretender for some reason, but all the blue guys were underwater ones...hmm?
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

If Hasbro wanted to go REALLY nuts with mass-release versions of obscure Botcon characters, he could also be repainted into a great Turbomaster/Scorch.

Scorch was not a Botcon-only character... he was a turbomaster from G1...

I know, I just worded that horribly while half asleep, hoping Flamewar had started the trend again. Thanks for correcting.

And for the record, I'm unwaveringly RIR,FIB, because blue Frenzies are the ones with unique tech spec powers instead of Rumble's leftovers.

Also agree with whoever said he looks Gurren Lagan-ish, an inevitable result of chest-face designs getting less subtle.

Hot damn! New reveals!

I like Kup. I was hoping to see him first as Ironhide, but I'll buy a Kup.

Same goes for Rumble. I wanted him red, but okay.

Airachnid I already decided I'm getting.

I refuse to buy Bumblebees unless absolutely necessary. And this is not necessary.

Dead End I'll pass on just because I have no interest. He doesn't really resemble previous Dead Ends.

That should be Ironhide not Kup, looks like a great mold but id rather have it as Ironhide. That is the worst rumble ive ever seen, but at least hes blue like he should be. All of these are easy passes.

So do brain cells.

Seriously, it is one the stupidest things I've come across in the fandom. Hasbro says one thing, the G1 show said another, the comics yet another. Instead of letting the so called "official" sources decide, how about people use their imagination and let it be who they want it to be?

This thread is meant to be a showcase of Hasbro's upcoming offerings. Not a discussion about RIFFRAFF, RAZAFRACKIN or whatever they want to call it.

EXACTLY. Especialy since rumble is neither blue, nor red, but a purpleish color.

Dont know if this has been mentioned because i felt my IQ actively dropping while reading some of the who is which colour arguments. Heres my 50 cents

IT DOESNT MATTER. THIS ISNT G1, HE'S NOT A CASSETTE, HE'S NOT THE SAME CHARACTER

Utterly irrelevant argument to the matter at hand. Seriously, let it go. If rumble is red to you and it REALLY matters, CALL HIM FRENZY! or buy a sharpie lol

PS: the gattling guns are weapons, not his arms, they clip outside the car like all the other accessories so im hoping they fit over the hands like FE Primes rifle

On topic, i love all of these including (god forgive me) bumblebee. Should be getting my hands on wave 4 fig's in the next week or two once kapow gets them in. As much as i want an Ironhide, im a kup fanboy and id rather have him, despite it blatantly being a green Ironhide. In my head he's kind of a hybrid, a senile old drill sgt that taught Bulkhead. and in my head that sounds cool

For what its worth. Rumble was blue in WFC, so at least hasbro is keeping it consistant in this universe (even if its accedently)

That is all.

Though I have always thought that the way Hasbro should handle it is that the characters keep trading names as a joke just to f*ck with people. And release them in a 2-pack that doesn't specify which on is which. :P

Here's how Hasbro could actually put the whole RIBFIRRIRFIB debate to rest by satisfying everyone! The next time they do any sort of Rumble+Frenzy 2-pack, have the bio say:

"Soundwave equipped Rumble and Frenzy with exo-armor-chromatic-image-inducers that allow them to switch back and forth between their respective color schemes, keeping the Autobots guessing as to who's who on the battlefield."

Kind of like the deal with the clones, since maybe they were originally supposed to function as messengers. It could happen.

But it it's squareish around the holes, plus it has molded in springs, suggesting that it's meant to thrust, rather than spin.

Just an observation. Imagination can turn them into gattling guns, so whatever sinks your submarine.

The head on Dead End is awesome! I love it, but probaly won't get him. I can't wait for Ironhide. Kup looks good, but the mold is definitely proprietary to Ironhide. Airachnid's not bad but I'd have to say Rumble is the clear winner. That's one badass head. The blue's maybe a bit light but I really want him.

I'm starting to think Hasbro is releasing the inferior figures first on purpose. They know people are less likely to buy a repaint or new mold of the same character if the first one was better. That might be the reason they screwed us out of the FE figures, they knew nobody would buy the PRiD versions if we already had the superior FE figures.

Here's a weird thought:

Figures that didn't receive First Edition treatment are almost crazy accurate.

Wheeljack? Pretty dang close.
Knock Out? Pretty dang close.
Airachnid? Body needs work, but that head? Dead on.
Dreadwing? Almost perfect. Even got the gun we wanted.

First Edition figures are almost exact duplicates of the show models. (Key word: almost. They're not 100% perfect)

Yet their PRID versions are almost painful to look at. It's almost like they're GIVING us a reason to buy FE figures. If you take FE plus PRID to fill in the gaps, the cast toys look almost perfect.

....I swear this was a sales ploy. Looks like it's working, too.

I will agree with everything you said except knock out as the toy isn't bad it's not close to show accurate IMO

All in all I've been fairly dissapointed by this whole line. I'm fairly new to this, and I get the feeling I picked a bad time to jump on the bandwagon. FEs were great, RiDs are largely meh.

I'll get dead end because the head sculpt is novel enough for me, and I actually kind of like the overall asthetic of him.

I suppose I'll get airachnid just cause she's airachnid, and it probably won't get better from here.

Kup is okay...I guess...Am I the only one who is bothered by his head sculpt? It really doesn't fit well at all with the rest of the figures, He has a nose for god sakes!

Rumble, sure why not. He looks cool, but looking at his hands, I'm worried that the weapons are going to attach like a normal gun, which would be awful.

Honestly I had a lot of hope for the prime toys since I first started seeing iimages of FEs. I even braved secondary market prices to get ss arcee and bb, but I can't bring myself to open them, because I doubt we'll get anything with the same quality. >:oP

I truly don't understand why it's so important that their colors matter.
It's a waste of energy, brain cells, and sanity.
Not to mention, in almost every fiction, they change from one color to the next.

Instead of bringing this mess here, which can polarize and cause trouble, can't people just use their imaginations and make them be who they want them to be?

I have always hated this whole IRIBOMGBBQWTQWERTY!!!!111ONE argument mess.

Well, I'm not sure if the toys do it on purpose, but in the fiction(s), the Decepticons are usually bigger. It's intentional.
