Why, oh why did James Roberts mentioning a More than Meets the Eye cartoon for 2013 have to be a joke? :-(

Prime is just dull, which is one of the worst things you can say about any example of media. The Autobots themselves aren't great, and the most interesting Decepticons got little screentime. The humans are friggin' annoying.

As for not killing off Bulkhead, I'm not surprised. Prime doesn't really take many chances, it only appears that they do. Breakdown, Skyquake, and Cliffjumper were all minor characters.

It makes the most sense for Bulkhead to be threatened, as he's the least developed character next to Bumblebee, who's practically mute. He's also the only character on the cast without a G1 analogue, and he just feels non-essential. Arcee's the token girl, Prime's the leader, Ratchet's plot exposition, and Bumblebee's the kid appeal character.

Breakdown was a major character in the series. He was the one of the 7 main cast Decepticons in Prime. So what are you talking about "minor character?"

Bulkhead is not the only character on the cast without a G1 analogue. Sure, he's the only Autobot, but Knock Out & Airachnid join him there as well. Let us not forget Vehicons did not exist in G1 either.

Well, I put all of that in spoiler because I didn't want to break the hidden text he created.

Bulkhead is the only member of the autobot cast who has no G1 analogue, is what I said, hence why I was describing the other autobots.

As for poor breakdown, he'd been getting less and less screentime by the time he got killed off.

And though it doesn't matter much, I'm female, not male.

No, that is not what you said. You said he was the only character on the cast, not the Autobot cast.

Even if Breakdown got less and less screen time, which he did, he was still considered part of the main cast, regardless of that fact.

Tell that to Breakdown.
That just furthers my point. They create an interesting character with a backstory and began to expand upon him for a little bit, then he gets ignored, and then they kill him off.

I agree with you there Saberblade. I've loved TF Prime as a series so far, but I've felt there are many characters that are stuck in a rut. Be it Arcee, who quickly went from interesting in the first season, to a predictable loose canon in the second, or Breakdown, who was looking to be a complex Decepticon, maybe even calling in question of his allegiance in the future, and they take him out without even having it tie into him and Bulkheads rivalry.

I can't say I wanted Bulkhead to die, and the character is one of the better ones (I'd hate to be stuck with just Ratchet as the last interesting Autobot) but still, I'd like to see more depth. Get some of these characters out of this rut of storytelling.

And kill of Rafe. I can't tell you how much I hate Rafe.

Hey, hey. People can watch a series or cartoon and dislike a character. It does not mean they have to stop watching the show. I hate Miko, Airachnid, Bulkhead, and Arcee's constant revenge plot, but that doesn't mean I hate the show.

Bulkhead's my least favorite character and I was hoping he was going to die this episode. :-(

I'm sorry, but where exactly was it stated that Breakdown was a main character? He was a secondary character, at best.

The only Decepticons who we can really call "main characters" are Megatron and Starscream Though, the latter is just barely holding onto that position since he started appearing much less often than he used to, and the former only really gained that title after becoming a full-timer when he woke up.

Knock Out's real close to joining the ranks of the main cast members, while Soundwave consistently remains in the background as a secondary. Dreadwing's also a secondary, but only because of how new he is and how little he's appeared compared to the others.

Airachnid started as a guest star, then took on a more pivotal role in which she grew to feel more like a main character, only to fall back into secondary member territory and then get reduced to "minor character" status by being taken out for a good while.

No need to bring up guest stars like Skyquake, Makeshift, the Warship, or Hardshell (though, the latter may potentially become a minor, or even a secondary character if he's lucky enough).

What we got:
  • Main/major characters - Megatron, Starscream (barely)
  • Secondary characters - Knock Out (almost major), Breakdown (deceased), Soundwave, Dreadwing (currently)
  • Minor characters - Airachnid (currently, former guest-turned-major)
  • Guest characters - Skyquake, Makeshift, Hardshell (currently), the Warship

Hi. Would this help as a source?

There, it states that (although Cliffjumper being a Main Cast member is total crap  ) Daran Norris & Adam Baldwin are part of the Main Cast of Prime, voicing their characters of Knock Out and Breakdown.

And even if he was a Secondary Character in recent episodes before he died, you cannot put him in the exact same bin as Makeshift and Skyquake.

If that happens, Brawn needs to stay as far away as he can from Arcee. She's got MTABD Syndrome (Minibots That Aren't Bumblebee Die).

I don't understand why everyone wants answers now. I like the show, the pacing is pretty good. I see people complaining about breakdown and Bulkhead rivalry not being explained. When Silas makes his comeback it's gonna pack some pretty good emotion between bulk head and what is ever left of breakdown. They could make it so breakdown is still "alive" Just trapped in limbo. Bulkhead goes out of his way to save breakdown and explains his rivalry. Maybe Breakdown was a wrecker who defected to the decepticons? A few things i would like to know: 1) Does knockout get enough Synthetic energon(sp) To make his own batch in secret? 2)Everyone isn't happy megatron is hanging out in his ship, maybe he's got some sort of master plan or he's just enjoying the energon jacuzzi a bit much? This is all i can think of. I love all the characters, they each have there own charms. The kids add a nice touch with out going over board. To be honest i tried watching G1 and wow.... it is pretty much a commercial for kids. I'm on season 3, it's got good story, the characters are very one dimensional, can't say i have really found an autobot or decepticon i'm very fond of. Also I hope to see Starscream get revenge towards mech. Okay sorry for my rant just my two cents.

Well, the only explanation we have for their rivalry is on the AM-12 War Breakdown's bio. Someone translated it, I forget where, but it said that "after spending most of his time on Cybertron in a smaller form," which is true. WFC reference. "the scout later upgraded to a bulkier, more threatening body following a clash with Bulkhead, a clash which initiated a heated rivalry between the two."

I think it makes the most sense, considering Breakdown has two different body masses between WFC and the Prime Comic.

I sincerely doubt Breakdown was a Wrecker. The first time we've seen or heard of Breakdown was in WFC, as he wasn't in any of the novels, and he seemed to be on Megatron's side all along. It's an interesting idea, but I don't know how they'll fit that into the continuity.

I'm still hoping they give us more background on Knock Out. "He came out of nowhere and he's a bad guy doctor. Yay!!!! Buy our toys." ~Hasbro.

PrimeStriker Thank you for the follow up and info. I hope they incorporate some sort of epic back story to breakdown and bulkhead something that just takes your breath away. Hopefully they haven't forgotten about all the loose ends and tie them up, because i hate unanswered questions. Yeah i forgot about knockout, One of my favorite characters I do wanna see a little bit more on him. He does seem to be an all right warrior, not very effective. Almost like a small dog, no real bark but bit of a bite. I'm surprised megatron hasn't "dealt" with him after his comment to starscream. I mean he is still use full as a medic and scientist. I wanna really know if he manged to obtain a sample of Syn engeron and is making it in secret some how. That would be a kicker to see megatron rip the very spark from him. I wonder what use Starscream is gonna put the apex armor to? Only one more week, cannot wait. Now time to see if i can finish season three of G1 *shudders* It has been painful to watch, but i can see the effort put into the story and toy.... erm characters :D

Also to add they should just show the episode this Saturday instead of making us wait like it's Christmas or something.
