It could be, but I think that might detract from the relic hunt and kinda come out of nowhere, but it's definitely plausible.
I don't see how it would detract from the relic hunt, i meant the sample is the relic, because the ancients knew the formula
^No, seeing as how they said synthetic energon could turn the tide of the war, it'd be more like a scientist nowadays finding a way to cost-effectively mass-produce an equivalent to gasoline, then realizing that if people start to fight over this it could get ugly, so he hides his findings
They might have hidden it right on the start of the war, because their main energy source was energon. In ""Stronger, Faster" they made it clear that people might have been working on ways to produce the formula during the war, but nothing worked. So maybe whoever was in charge destroyed all the samples, and sent the last one out in hopes that neither side would discover it, because it could turn the tide of the war
This is rampant speculation, i know. I'm not saying it's definitely this, im just saying it's a possibility
The dialogue is saying someone has a minute, maybe less, and Wheeljack was just previously shown getting his aft whooped by Soundwave.
That orange thing is not synthergon but part of the relic (it looked like it was attached to a lot of stuff to me)which turns out to be a very big boom-boom device. Docbot is left to deactivate it while Jackie fights SW/is recovering from fighting SW and Jackie has to walk him through the process over the comm. before they are all blown to kingdom-come. 
This of course gives the uppity sciency

looks like a rip off Cylon Raider from BattleStar Galactica BUT YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT TRULY GET'S UNDER MY SKIN......Transformer Prime's depiction of Optimus himself. OFF THE HOOK insanity...although I liked last weeks episode, BUT Optimus should have been able to DESTROY Dreadwing....why don't they tap into the Matrix lore.....with millions of years of fighting knowledge at Optimus Prime's disposal, and not to mention extra POWER. The tide is never equal when Prime steps onto the battlefield not even Megatron himself would want to face Prime unless an ambush is there for the taking or Prime is clearly outnumbered. There should be a script competition even for Transformers Prime writers to compete in........THEY WOULD LOOSE. Really the only banter that is acceptible is from Starscream to Megs....I like that and I get it and so does everyone else....but to portray Optimus as an equal with Dreadwing......F*&^% insulting.
