I assume some of you have played it? I'm not an Armada fan, but I love the boss battles. Starscream is really fun to fight.

Mind you, I have no next-gen system to play the movie based game =P

The movie game is also on PS2, PSP, and DS.

And, yeah, most, if not all of us, have played it.

EDIT: The Armada game, I mean.

Ah okay. I didn't know it was on PS2. Guess I'll rent it. What did you think of the Armada-based game though?

Armada based game is VERY fun. Better then the new one. I love how you can go back to each site and find minicons and data cons, or just explore...They did a good work of adding alot of extra stuff to find. Great graphics for a PS2 game also...And yeah, boss battles kick ass in that game.

Is it really better than the new game? In terms of replayability? Or controls? How so?

Dont get me wrong. New ones fun...But Armada has much better open world abillities, exploration, enemies, weapons...The way you unlock minicons to earn new abillities and weapons is an awesome idea and works well...While the new game is good, it just doesent offer as much as Armada. The new one is really just a game based off a movie honestly. But a good one. LOTS more destruction in it which is pretty cool. And playing as the Decepticons is also fun. (I like flying around...) But really thats it....OH and of course the original voice actors of Megs and Prime from the 1980s....I cant tell you which controls are better for PS2, I never played the new TF on the PS2. But it's probably simillar to the 360s, so the controls are probably fine. Overall tho I still think Armada is the better game.

The armada game is awesome, shame no playable decepticons though. it would be nice if they were unlockable once the game is 100% complete

Yeah, I really enjoyed the Armada game. I remember the graphics being some of the best on the PS2. Only thing I can complain about (and this is nitpicking) is I would have liked to see more of the Armada Transformers (they don't have to be playable) in the game.

Who do you think are the hardest bosses in the game?

For me it's Tidal Wave, followed by Starscream. Surprisingly, Megatron wasn't that hard for me to beat (at least compared to Tidal and Starscream).

I love the Armarda game. The boss battles make it worth getting alone IMO. Starscream at the research base is the most fun, especially if you activate it before taking down the clones so there are hundreds of foes, reinforcements from the sphere droids, and an angry jet strafing you all at the same time with destructible buildings.

The movie game doesnt come out here till the 20th, so I can't compare them, but when it does, I will be getting it for the ps2.

I see. It has to at least be a rental then. I'm looking forward to playing it.

Yeah, only 3 Autobots, and 4 Decepticons is pretty uneventful. Cameos would have been nice.

I think Tidal Wave is also the hardest, even using the cluster missiles and repair minicon. Starscream was hard when I didn't equip the grenade launcher, but got suprisingly easier after

Awesome game, even my friends who don't like transformers were awe-struck when they saw tidal-wave. I found him pretty easy because i used the Sniper rifle and deflector shield, but on the hardest difficulty it does pose a bit of a challenge. Without the sniper rifle its a pretty hard fight.

Optimus prime is definately my favourite character in the game I love the way the controller vibrates everytime he takes a step, and he feels heavy. It gives him presence. The easiest to use has got to be Red Alert (All terrain vehicle FTW).

I also loved the way they set up the Tidal Wave encounter. Having the level you just played transform into the boss ? Genius. Absolute genius.

Loved Prelude to Energon. Great weapons, expansive levels, all kinds of stuff to look for, and something you wouldn't expect from a licensed game: atmosphere. Tidal Wave was definitely the most fun boss, especially on the hardest difficulty setting. But I have to admit, that thing Megatron does to you if he gets hold of you is cool.

I'm not a fan of "Armada" as a show in any aspect...but this game is just plain FUN! The combos of minicons makes it interesting, and the boss battles are a blast...especially Starscream. I especially like that, even though it takes away life(cheat cooooode) you can run over enemies in your alt form.

I certainly like this game better than "Grand Theft Robo" er, I mean "Transformers: The Game". You can be Optimus for more than one lousy stage. AND THE GUNS WORK!

The part where he grabs you and slams you into the ground again and again like a doll, then kicks you into the lava before you wake up, or the one where he jumps up and piledrives you into the ground, kicking you into the lava before you can wake up? Because they are both really fun.

The Tidal Wave level demonstrates perfectly why I love TF's. You infiltrate an enemy aircraft carrier, and then the whole thing transforms without warning into a HUGE enemy and starts slamming his fist into your head. And considering the size of his fist, he slams it into the rest of your body and half the rock you're standing on at the same time. :P

I've just beaten Cyclonus. Haha I forgot about his running up to you and tossing you, Mario vs Bowser N64 style! That was fun too, especially outrunning his shots as Hot Shot. Shame the developer Melbourne House can't/isn't. Yay Tidal Wave is next =)

It just occured to me while I had lots of fun with the game (as mentioned before, Tidal Wave is AWESOME), I never beat Unicron... time to pop this game back in! :CON:

Both, to be sure! But I liked the piledriver just a little more. Maybe it's because it's what I got the first time he grabbed my poor Optimus, and I was like .

I beat the Armada game for the third last night. Wow I love that game, controls are beautiful, and I don't say that often. My only complaint is that Unicron was SO easy to beat.

Oh you have to fight Unicron! I was letdown actually. It just seems weird why he didn't transform though.

Aye, the piledriver is more fun. I think I got the slamming repeteadly the first time, which made the piledriver even more  OMG moment because I was expecting to be thrown around again. I do love the way Prime's limbs flail all over the place when he gets slammed around.

I wonder, does anyone fight Megatron as Hot Shot or Red Alert? I've tried it, but Prime always feels like the only choice for that fight.
