Va'al: Thanks awfully for identifying exactly what episode that Simpsons Transformer stuff was in! Will have to toodle by the library next week to actually view it, but references/reviews were easy to dig up in the meantime. I even found a quotable quote of the dialog from the specific clip I saw...here it is:

Back to references I've actually seen... Here's one I heard on The Daily Show, about a month or so ago. Jon and one of his 'reporters' were discussing some big Tea Party meetings and the difficulties the Party was having in finding suitable candidates because of what Jon thought were the Party's impossibly high standards. So Jon starts naming people most would consider highly virtuous as fantasy candidates, all of whom the reporter guy kept shooting down for one ridiculous reason or another. Then, VERY unexpectedly, I hear Jon suggest, "Optimus Prime." Nope. Sorry. Even Optimus wouldn't do. Because Optimus would have supported the auto assembly plant bailouts...

Has a sense of humor to it, but it's also something of a "public service annoucement"

In Psych episode "Not So Close...Encounters" Shawn and Gus refrence Decepticons

They are walking through an abandoned town

Shawn: Then what is the worlds coolest truck doing here?
Gus: It looks like a Decepticon!
Shawn: It most certainly is not a Decepticon, Gus. It's probably made in Fresno

I Remember Giggling alittle when I caught an ep. of TMZ, the one were Shia Lebuff get's beat up in/outside a bar, and one of the guys was all like:
"He shoulda got Optimus Prime to help bail him out"
But seriously, this one takes the cake:

In CSI: Las Vegas they mentioned the motto and brand name

Stokes is trying to upload a hard drive but finds it heavily encrypted he calls over Sanders. "There is more then meets teh eye with this hard drive Greg." Greg as he walks over comments. "What is it a Transformer?"

And in the episode Night Terrors of Doctor Who in the toys that the Doctor brought to life with his screwdriver there is a Stomping Robot's Optimus Prime

This transformers reference was in one of it's shows "Beast Wars" The maximals were trying to break into the autobot's spaceship when this exchange happens.

I was the only one in my family laughing at the joke.

I watched Real Steel last night and they had a G1 Transformers reference in there.

While Hugh and his son are in the junkyard looking for a new Robot his kid finds a old Robot head and Hugh says something to the effect of "That's a Generation 1, Before your time. That's back when people wanted them to look as human as possible." The head looked alot like G1 Bumblebee, except it was white. I thought it was pretty clever to add that little reference in there.

Last night I was watching Family Guy and it was the episode where Loretta cheated on Cleveland with Quagmire. I forgot what part but between scenes, it showed Peteres face zoom out, flip to Quagmires face and zoom back in like with the faction symbols from G1. It even had the little 2 second song with it too. And the same show, the episode where Peter found a jewish guy to do his taxes. When they went to the jewish temple, Peter notices a bunch of famous people who were jewish and he spotted O Prime.

Then there was another when Joe and Peter were on heist, Joe cancles it and tells Peter to put the money back. Peter says "What? Are you crazy?" Joe takes the headset off and holds it up and says "Tell him Megatron" Megatron bends over and says "Do as I command!" with the G1 voice and Peter says "Okay okay. Jeez" I have alot more if you want to keep going. Even some from other shows too like from Robot Chicken and MAD

I don't know if this would count as a reference, but think about it. Ratchet from Ratchet and Clank. He's good at fixing things and the Autobot is a medic. Get it?
