I'm getting disgruntled over the artist switching in the RID continuity. I really like that painterly look, but don't care at all for the other storyline or art style. (just personal preference, not a comment on its quality.)

I guess I'm going to have to pick up every other comic to just get these (???). Or maybe the trade paperbacks will only collect the matching styles? (not to mention the Annual being a MTMTE/RID crossover with covers from both lines... which is also confusing.)

It wouldn't be a big deal except that the styles are SOOO vastly different. Anyone else jarred by the flip-flop changes in style?

This painted look signifies Orion Pax's adventures in space and is only used for that. Those stories set on Cybertron during RiD are using the other art style. Throughout RiD, this has not been changed. The Orion Pax storyline is pretty much its own story, just included in the Robots in Disguise banner.

That actually makes me feel a little better about it. I DO hope they'll be collected as such. Really, I just wish that was a third series with a different title. Then I could subscribe to the Orion Pax adventures. :-D

The Orion Pax stuff is heavily intertwined with the main story and neither would make sense without the other.

Frankly, I think John Barber is a mad genius, and that's heavily exhibited here. Great job with writing, though the art's a bit hard to follow.

Yeah, while I wouldn't want every comic looking like this... I absolutely LOVE the painted style. Writing, lighting, stylized characters, color... all is breathtaking. It's getting me to jump on board buying some of this comic... and trades... when I hadn't any plan to do so. Bravo across the board for this whole team.

I haven't a clue what is going on in these pages, and I love it.

Just one question for anyone who can answer: I've got quite a comic backlog so I'm not looking for an explanation, but wasn't Hardhead kind of made undead or something? Is his new life explained and I just haven't gotten to it yet?

Thats a good point.

To the best of my knowledge, I thought it was only Galvatron who could survive outside the Dead Universe. I dont think Hardhead has been explained yet.

Then again, I never really fully understood the entire Gorlam Prime, Dead universe business.
