Well, I did a bit of looking around: A1toys in the UK has SDCC fort Max for £99,99 now!! And some Platinum sets for great prices too! (Conehead seekers £24,99 - Insecticons £19,99 - Perceptor+Blaster £24,99).
So I grabbed 2 Fortmaxxes and the 3 Platinum sets. I'll sell everything except 1 Fort Max, and earn some money back. Won't break even, but at least Max'll be cheaper!

Too bad they didn't have that cool G1 dinobot repaint Platinum set for those low prices. Now THAT one I'd have kept.

Funny enough, I was just talking about that set to the site owner and we both agreed it was a very nice set. I am quite fond of it, especially since it surpasses the SDCC toys by having new heads and was priced way less.

That Digimon toy is Digivolving Birdramon (get it? Bird? Dragon?), and it can indeed convert between two forms. The form it's in now is called Garudamon, after the birdman of Hindu myth (yet is styled after the wrong kind of Indian). That form is the better of the two, as the other is nothing to write home about to say the least.

Yup, found at renaissance. I thought it was the first edition at first but oh well I don't own this one either. And while he didn't come with the gun, he did come with the sword!

Nothing of importance was lost. Beside, the fact that he came with the sword AND it's unbroken is a little miracle in itself.

BTW, have you played with Fortmax yet? I stickerd him up and MAN does he look awesome! The "vehicle mode" is sad and the city mode is passable but can't hold a candle to the G1 original. I'm also a bit pissed that he don't even come with a giant gun. A 3p upgrade kit is needed.

However, the bot mode is worth the price of admission alone. Man, compared to the TR, the G1 look "Dany-de-Vito-ish". This is a bot that stand tall and who command respect. Even more so than the Metroplex original.



I would have been pissed to have paid the original 264$CAN total. But at 129$CAN total, I would have been a fool to pass it up.
