I was a little drunk when HLJ put up their insane sale last weekend.



All came out to around $60 shipped EMS (I tried to split them up and do SAL but they caught on to my ploy). Not bad, but I really didn't need any of these XD

Someone a week or so back was talking about G1 Sky Lynx and (as always happens) I went looking for a place to buy him, but just before committing I was able to resist. Then I decided to browse the site and stumbled across the Panzer armour for Liger Zero (got Zero and the other armour sets already) and guess what;

Just arrived, Encore G1 Sky Lynx.


Also, FP LER Cubrar (Diaclone version), shipped a week before SL and they arrived on the same day! So much for priority shipping

Masterpiece Skywarp (The yellow-eyed Walmart version) MISB

I used to have the 2nd release of the red-eyed Takara rendition, but his boob's were assembled backwards and it looked too hard to fix, and I sold it. This Walmart version is good, although true to his name, mine is a little "warped" in some spots, due to being MISB and packed with some strong rubber bands since 2009.

Funny thing is, I traded an old Shōji Kawamori-designed Orguss Nikick for a recent Shōji Kawamori-designed Transformer!

I've been eying for a long time and I finally decided to get one. A G1 Sideswipe! I bought the reissue Commemorative edition. A bit expensive at 66$CAN shipped, but I bought it from within Quebec so it only took a day to arrive!

I really didnt want the on the hood so I place it in an alternative place. I also transfered the rubsign on the black triangle of the car's roof. The box will be trashed but I'll keep the manuak and spare missilles.

I'm not a G1 fan, but this mold is PERFECT. Basic articulation, a fun and quick transformation, and a perfect vehicle mode. Recommended.

That's why I also just bought a MP Lambor whithout a on the hood off Ebay. For cheap too! The real deal, despite being a loose factory reject. Bought from a reputable Ebay seller. I'll receive it only next year unfortunately......

That's why I also just bought a MP Lambor whithout a on the hood off Ebay. For cheap too! The real deal, despite being a loose factory reject. Bought from a reputable Ebay seller. I'll receive it only next year unfortunately......

So you made sure it was a fixed piece instead of one with a messed up waist? If I recall, when Lambor 1st came out, his waist was messed up and it made full transformation troublesome.

So you made sure it was a fixed piece instead of one with a messed up waist? If I recall, when Lambor 1st came out, his waist was messed up and it made full transformation troublesome.

Yeah, the MP Lambor. IIRC, the 1st version had a problem where 1 of the steps required the upper body to be spun around at the waist, except the waist was secured to the lower body by screws, so it was impossible to fully transform without removing the screws. This was fixed in a subsequent release, but there is still 1st version of the figure out there.

the factionless version is rather new, from the expo (in tokyo?) this year. so i doubt there would be 1st production run QC issues.

My favorite part of this haul is Strongarm. My Mom took my 3 year old daughter xmas shopping for me, Mommy, and baby Sis. She picked out Strongarm and the Legos for Daddy. All on her own. She really knows her Pops. I love that kid.

So for Crimbo I got quite a lot of stuff, although not very much of it Transformers related. That said, I did recieve the TF2014 Legion Grimlock. You know, this guy:



Sure he doesn't scale well with most other Cyberverse/Legends things and he doesn't have a weapon, but I love 'im anyway. His colours are actually really cool, and the alt mode works surprisingly well. I'm headcanoning this guy as the Little Godzilla/Godzilla Junior to my "main" Grimlock's Godzilla (whenever I get a "main" Grimlock anyway).

Also, this mold could be kitbashed/repainted into so many different characters it's not even funny. I've already considered Skalor, Cruellock and Repugnus repaints...

heres the christmas haul! (the toy stuff anyways)
AD31 knight prime, alternity skywarp and banziatron, TFCC circuit, MP BB, MMC stealth azalea, link and samus amiibo's, and zelda monopoly!



one other thing.... collection kingdom G1 predaking upgrade kit. did i save the best for last? mmmm... keep reading...



positives:
- low price compared to individual crazydevy sets
- new head sculpt is amazing
- sword and wings are damn shiny and damn impressive
- altogether, makes a nice looking piece

negatives:
- in a few words, finicky and delicate. the slightest change in the wind makes me feel like he'll crumble. very little stays on him solidly:
- groin plates peg on NOT on a ball joint, easily fall off
- legs connect to waist attachment, can come off just by lifting him
- hand attachment loose, like the hands themselves (can barely hold sword)
- lion mane attachment is weak
- almost impossible to put wings on without them splitting in half
- i dont like the feet/leg extension. he already towers over the other combiners so it feels unnecessary, the the thin calves look odd, makes his arms look short in proportion, and it can make him unstable (due to supporting a lot of weight).

all in all... the excruciating experience of trying to assemble him almost took all the joy out of the result. especially since the result is something im terrified to touch now. it turned a brick into a statue. albeit a really nice statue, but based on this experience i honestly cant recommend this set. the original crazydevy's may have been better quality, but even for the low price i cant say its worth it.

And I'm pissed.

He was already expensive at 86$CAN shipped, now the fawking customs add another 23$ on top of that. That's 110$CAN total! God fokking dammit.

I want to love this figure so I'll wait untill tommorrow before opening him up. I don't wanna hate it's guts by finding him over priced.

Next time, I'll buy from BBTS only stuff that are on mad clearance and only large hauls. Customs pounce on that sheyt like raging bears on honey...

sad to see another canadian duped by a BBTS MP. once upon a time i bought all my MP's from BBTS, which either didnt have the coins or amazon exclusives, paid crappy shipping, and suffered customs charges on top it all. it wasnt until the datsuns that i wised up. prowl was 80 something with no extras. i had only started venturing outside of BBTS's warmth, and what i found was astonishing... ill illustrate my example with BB and UM:
