I like him...looks like a good cross between G1 Onslaught and Energon Barricade. Even the SWAT logo is a nice touch.

Now we gotta see what his alt mode's like.
I'm selling a bunch of Transformers stuff, from G1 through to Cybertron--contact me if you're interested in seeing if I have a figure you want, and we'll go from there!

That Classics Onslaught looks sick. I realize that it isn't exactly a "reengineering" of the original but it looks fantastic and continues to =P~ for more of the Classics 2.0. I am ecstatic about this line!!

Why Hasbro why do We have to wait till fall nxt frigg'n year.

looks just okay. maybe a 6/10 but we better be getting bruticus or this is just a complete waste. if he's a stand alone then that's just the most retarded thing ever.

I don't understand the point of a combiner piece without the rest of his team. Also, why does he transform into a cop? Isn't that a good guy? They could have taken this mold and changed the paint scheme to something cool, like Hardhead.

Being a cop or not doesn’t seem to really matter, I thought the same thing when barricade came out. Wonder if someone in the Hasbro design team got arrested or given a ticket for speeding or something  .
And also, there’s four other figures to be shown in the magazine and one is a tank I think, so lets hope we get rest of his team of I’ll be out of steam (I‘m turning into Roadblock, agh!).

points to ponder...

1) Onslaught looks cool, but as a stand alone OR combiner, I could careless. Bruticus has been done a million times by now... Nothing has been done with the Stunticons since G1, and I think they would kick ass.

2) News... As far as news of a combiner, I would be inclined to think that it will be Devastator in the Animated line, ESPECIALLY after reading the episode synopsis posted a couple days ago. Dinobots VS. Constructicons, I CANNOT wait!!!

Bottomline...the pic and figure is cool, I could careless about the character (alone or as a Combaticon), I think it's a waste of the title Classic 2.0, and I cant wait for Animated Devastator. I sure hope those other four in the magazine make up for the disappointment for choice of character for this one.

My comment is based upon him being a stand-alone figure. If he is a combiner, that woud be great. But since this is all they've shown, I'll base my opinion on that.

Looks like a nice toy but its design does not say Onslaught to me.

The whole point of the Classics is to update original G1 toys not reinvent them. The previous Classics toy line and even the Botcon repaints acknowledged this as the alt modes and in most cases the robot was a true representation of its G1 counterpart making them as proper 'updates'.

This Onslaught on the other hand feels more like a reinvention since they have essentially changed his Alt mode from the original toy (A missile carrier/Gun turret Carrier Truck) to a SWAT Ban which is not really military. This is something that the original Classics did not change including the repaint Botcon ones. Astrotrain was still a Shuttle and a Train, Prime a truck and Megatron a Gun (A Nerf gun but still a gun). What Hasbro should have done is make Onslaught some sort of military troop carrying truck at the very least.

This toy smacks of some toy that they decided to name Onslaught well after its design was made as it is rather forced and outside the concept of the original G1 toy which this is supposed to be making tribute to.

I am sure that it could be a nice toy but it doesn't say Classics to me.

I hope that Hasbro doesn't miss the point why fans are attracted to the line. Having it under the Universe label is scary enough.

I seriously doubt that this thing combines with anything. If you think it will be prepared to be disappointed.

I really hope he does turn out to be a combiner that was talked about at botcon, because the last thing we need is another set of Constructicons due to the fact that they have been done just as many times as the combaticons if not more. if you don't beleave me here is a list of all version of the Constructicons:
1) orignial g1
2) g2 version
3) rid build team
4) Universe Constructicons (repaint of rid build team)
5) 2nd Universe Constructicons (repaint of team from micromaster)
6) Energon Constructicon Maximus
7) Classics Constructicons (repaint of Constructicon Maximus)
If I missed any please feel free to fill them in.

From this one picture, I really like what I see. I LOVE Decepticons, like Barricade, posing as vehicles we normally associate with "good guys," like police, firefighters, etc.
:APPLAUSE:
Months ago I posted that I thought it would be cool if the TF Animated Autobots got repainted/remolded into Decepticons, because how much more "in disguise" can a bad guy get than being disguised as a good guy??

Now, if you wanna slap a Autobot logo sticker over the Decepticon logo and call him Hardhead, or consider him an "update" of Energon Checkpoint, then go for it. This guy looks like a great mold, no matter what name you give him.

I agree with what kup1986 just said. I hope the line, as a whole, continues to update classic characters instead of reinventing them, but one or two reinventions, sprinkled here and there throughout the line, really wouldn't be TOO terrible, especially if the reinvented figure was good in-and-of-itself, like this one seems to be.

Now, since Hasbro HAS named him Onslaught, I DO hope, even if he isn't a combiner, that the rest of his team shows up, even if it is just one per wave.

One final note: THIS is how you represent a SWAT vehicle TF, not that piece-of-crap TF Animated Bulkhead.

Doesn't look much like Onslaught in my opinion, change the colors and there would be nothing Onslaught-like in it. It looks just kind of weird...a bit like a vehicon, actually. I guess I'm just crazy.

That's ok. It's always part of Classics to improve on the figure, especially the alt mode, and yet retain homage to the cartoon design.

Didn't Hasbro release all the energon combiner pieces in different waves? I didn't like it, but they did release a limb here, a body there. It took months to complete your combiner. Sadly it could be the same here, expecially since they probably want to have wave 1 have a variety of figures in it, and they are only having 5 figures in the wave. If they did a whole combiner, they wouldn't have anything else!

way cool - i'm a big fan of the original since a buddy of mine had one which his dad had got him from abroad (this was back in the 80s)

i had got mine from the uk but my buddy's had the spring mechanism for launching the other combaticons in base mode and mine didn't. I managed to collect the whole set - vortex was a pain to find. I'm not too bothered bout whether or not they release the whole set as classics.

also a big fan of classics - love the updates on g1 characters and lookin forward to octane. I hope they update some of the autobot vans... ratchet, ironhide, trailbreaker. Like the seekers they need a basic mode and they'll easily have repaints for us suckers to lap up.
My personal prime collection so far in descending order of how great i reckon the toy is -
FE Prime, Silas Breakdown (Powerizer), Dreadwing (Powerizer), FE Bulkhead, Voyager StarScream (Powerizer), Ratchet, Soundwave, Arcee, Voyager Megatron (Powerizer), Wheeljack, Thundertron (Powerizer), Ultra Magnus (Powerizer), Knockout, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee,Airachnid

Onslaught's presence in the next wave of Classics does indeed raise the question of whether or not we might see more gestalts again. Honestly speaking, while certainly wouldn't turn them down, I wouldn't mind going at least one more line without combiners. I thought they got overdone with the Energon gestalt teams; those were cool enough, but since the limbs were all comprised of two of the same-looking vehicles, it didn't have the patchwork aspect that I enjoyed with the old-time combiner teams.

I forget who said it earlier in this thread, but I agree that some Stunticon re-do's are seriously overdue. :D

Does look fresh but not that much Onslaught to me except for the cannons on the back.

I really like the Energon Barricade (or whatever his name is) That one has a cool altmode with missiles and a great colorscheme.

If it's going to be a combiner I think we will be given the same treatment as Energon, 2 limb molds and a repaint of eacht and all of 'm sold seperatly over 2 waves :(.

But what the hell, the bot looks cool for a transformer. I have to agree with others, try the Stunticons and GIVE ME MY CLASSICS THUNDERCRACKER!!!

I honestly wouldn't mind a Classics Ultra Class Seeker mold. The Seekers are F-15 jets, which are HUGE! Then they could release Thundercracker and NOT mess up the Botcon exclusive Deluxe toy's exclusivity.

As for Onslaught, in the Marvel comics, he was last seen leading Ratbat's Decepticon forces in an attack on the moon against the Autobots under the command of Grimlock and Fortress Maximus.

actually if you placed the Transformers the movie wreckage head on him or maybe classics Megatron's head, and gave hima new paint job, with some repro labels, he'd make an excellent Megatron... Digibash to follow later today..
