Does anybody know if Hasbro is planning to continue the Universe line as found at places like Dollar General and Family Dollar?

I tried asking Hasbro directly, but their customer service people are rather slow about replying.

I bought all the Energon Superion Maximus combiners they rereleased in the Universe line, but they have yet to release Sky Shadow. ( and I don't want to pay $20-$30 on ebay for him - especially if I can wait and get the Universe version for $5. ) So, my poor Superion is missing a limb.

According to most websites have checked out lately hasbro has scaled back there transformer production to just classics at the momment due to the fact that they are getting ready for the movie. So I don't think you will see any more universe toys untill after the movie if it all.

All Universe 'style' toys will be packaged in classics style packaging for the foreseeable future. For example classics Devastator (repaint of Energon Constructicon Maximus) is one such release. There has also been talk of the G1 Piranacon repaint rumoured as a Universe release ages ago being released as one of these Classics style releases. Besides I'm sure there will be plenty of repaints of all sorts of figures released during the movie line.

The last new ones I saw were the renamed Spy CHanger toys Mirage, Camshaft and Hoist II at the end of 2006. Of course Hasbro never announces these toys, they just seem to appear, so you never know when they will pop up. They did mention at Botcon that if they can find someone to carry the Universe Seacons they will sell them as a store exclusive, maybe under the Classics label. I think bigger stores just want the latest and greatest label for Transformers, and Universe is a couple year old line. They would say no to the same toy in "Universe" packaging that they would carry in a "Classics" package. Shame.

Toy Fair 2007 is coming up the following week. This is where the Toy companies show their upcoming toys. Hasbro may reveal their plans to release this toy at that time.

C'mon Seacon repaints in Classics line

Yup, I've been trying to buy him on ebay for some time. Apparently, he's quite rare these days and there are a lot of other people like myself who are tired of their Energon Superion looking like the one armed man.

I cannot bring myself to pay $20 + shipping for a loose basic figure thats 3 years old. I am very close to going to Dollar General and buying another Terradive for a mere $5. But alas, then Superion would look unbalanced. He needs another red limb besides Windrazor.

What color are the universe Seacons supposed to be?

I think we will see the Universe Seacons released. Remember the club exclusive Astrotrain was originally supposed to be in Universe. So who knows. Maybe Hasbro will find a store to release them in. Maybe they'll release it as a club or BotCon exclusive. As long as I can buy it on BBTS.
