Anyone on here had any experience replacing the tyres on their figs? I'm thinking that Scalextrix or some other model company must do them but would have no idea where to seat with the sizings.

I need a front tyre for a G1 Wheeljack I'm restoring.

Also doing up the bonnet is a pain for me. I solved this by cutting off two of the tabs, now it's much easier and less stressful.

No one know anyone that can help with these electronics?

I have a G1 Dinobot Snarl. If I pick him up holding the top half, his waist just falls down all the way. It should be tighter, and only do this as part of his transformation.

If I take it apart is there anything I can tighten that will fix this? I considered wrapping a sticker around it, or painting with clear nail polish, but I don't want to do anything destructive.

Thanks.

Have some problems with RotF Mindwipe and Bludgeon.

Mindwipe: The gold colored plastic around his ankles is starting to crack. Is there a way to fix it or prevent it from breaking eventually?

Bludgeon: The back or base of his hands have a small crack. Again, is there a way to fix it or prevent it from breaking?

and yes I've tried the blowdryer trick on Bludgeon and it didn't work.

This isn't really a major problem but it's bugging me.

DOTM Sideswipe's hood keeps falling off whenever I so much as breathe on it. I can see the connecters that hold it on are just really small and gimpy. Would a little glue on those gimpy pieces help the hood stay on?

Generations Darkmount has broken.
Only slightly, but it will not allow me to transform him back into alt modes.

The part in question is the little round joint behind the right arm, which allows the tracks to swivel into tank mode. It's a grey plastic ring, held in place by the shoulder pad/front of tank blue flap, and it just snapped due to it being quite stiff to rotate.

Is there any way of repairing it, or should I just resign and keep him in his robot mode until next December, when the world will end?

Thanks!

Just a theory:

His hands crack because of the strain caused by inserting the sword, right? Perhaps if you were to increase the aperture of his hand slightly, by a fraction of a millimetre, it would prevent breakage.
Immerse the hand in boiling water for a minute or so, then insert the sword into his hand and let it cool. Or even, use the shaft of a screwdriver or pencil that's a tiny bit bigger than the sword handle. That way, there will be less strain on his hand when he's holding the weapon.

I do this with many of my TFs and action figures to correct wonky or misshapen parts. It may work, it may not. ;)

My MP10 Optimus Prime suffers from floppy ankles. Tightening the screws didn't have any affect. The ankle is loose front to back and side to side. How best to fix?

Depends on the type of joint.... Floppy ball joints can be restored with a bit of superglue on the ball end (I believe there's a post here somewhere detailing the technique).
Friction joints can be maintained by keeping dirt and grit out, and occasionally tightening any screws a little if needed. A plastic washer may help keep them tight and avoid wear.

Ratchet joints will either last forever or wear to nothing, depending on how much you play with the toy and how well-made they are. Again, keeping them clean will do wonders.
If your ratchets go, it may be a case of replacing the spring, or finding a new ratchet piece. The latter will be very difficult, of course.

;) Bottom line, keep them clean, avoid overtightening screws, and pray to the joint gods daily.

Peace! :D

Scratches, like diamonds, are forever. I guess you could try sanding down with really, REALLY fine sandpaper (like, 1200 grit), but you'd take the gloss off the plastic real good. Alright if you're repainting, though.

Those waxy 'scratch pens' for cars and furniture may be a temporary fix... Or you could fill it with a bit of epoxy resin. Or even rub the surface down with some cellulose thinner, that might take a layer or two off and blend the scratch in. May also warp or melt the plastic, though.

I'd say it's not worth trying to remove scratches... It may only make things worse...

Stress cracks on C pillar above fuel cap, on drives door beside the handle and on trunk/boot lid.
This is the 2nd Rumble I currently own, the 1st was from a collector who just had it displayed. This 2nd one however looks like its been played with. Can anyone else confirm any stress cracks appearing? The plastic looks kind of translucent, maybe not the best way to discribe it but I'm thinking it's brittle possibly because of the colour.

Does anyone have any tips on tightening G1 Ravage's leg joints. Not the "shoulder" part, but the "elbows". Is there some sort of tool to squeeze the metal clasp together?

I'm looking for replacement parts for my Laser Rods Sizzle. The parts that everyone want's to get for laser rod figures really. Need a sword and new LED setup. I got Sizzle a while ago and at first the LED worked, but now it's not doing what it should do. So I gotta replace it. Anyone here who can hook me up or who knows where I can get myself some replacements?

Hey, haven't been on Seibertron's forums in a few years, but I had a problem that I can't seem to find a fix for via search engine. Simply put, I have a leader-class Animated Bulkhead, and the Headmaster unit won't work. It's something I could possibly figure out myself, except I can't find the switch that activates "Total Ownage" (I know...why would I want to?....but that's a different problem). I've noticed what seems like a switch in the headmaster plug hole nearest his right arm, but it doesn't do anything when pushed...perhaps a combination is needed, or it is the right switch and it's broken, I can't tell. I was wondering if anyone that has a working Bulkhead could tell me what it takes to activate the Headmaster unit without the Headmaster so I could get a better idea of what's wrong with mine. In the meantime I'll keep tinkering, perhaps find it myself.

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone here knows how to remove the clear headlights on TF's. Certain ones like Movierverse Swindle and RTS Bumblebee have tinted headlights, which is cool, but they look fake because the plastic underneath is showing through.

In order to paint the undersides up, I naturally need to remove the headlights but can't seem to find a way to do so. I'm hesitant pry it for fear of damaging the plastic.

Can anyone help?
