Transmetal Scorponok

At long last, here it is. I used parts from the following:

  • Beast Wars Quickstrike (scorpion legs, scorpion back plate, robot mode crotch, robot mode chest and scorpion tail)
  • Beast Machines Dinotron (main body)
  • McDonalds Beast Wars Transmetal Scorponok (scorpion head)
  • Beast Machines Thrust (hands)
  • Kabaya part [not sure which kit it came from :P) (tail tip/gun)
    [/list]

I painted the figure with Testors clear metallic red and clear metallic purple. The only parts glued are the robot chest and crotch and the scorpion's head (I glued the peg into a hole I drilled in the back of the robot head), everything else is either attached by screws or friction.

He transforms without any partsforming. Quickstrikes bug legs clip into place on the pegs on the front of the bot mode and I rotate them up to the shoulders without removing them for transformation into bot mode and I adjust the ball joints in the tail so that it comes up over his head in bot mode.

The scorpion legs fully support the weight of the entire figure.

He's handless, but that's nothing new for Scorponok. Now he has techie looking Transmetal cannons instead of claws.

There are still a few bits that are green that I haven't painted, but I'll likely leave them since they don't show up when looking at the figure in either mode from a normal angle.

I may upload new, better pics once I get my new camera (these were taken on my phone) some time in the next couple of weeks.

edit: Uploaded better high-res pics (got my new camera :D!)

Dude, that thing is AWESOME!

Cant wait to see HD pictures!

I find funny and cool that this Scroponock Bot mode have a very manly "hairy" chest.
I LOVE IT.

And it transform. Without partforming. That's just perfect.

Good work!

 :APPLAUSE: ;)^

Hehe, thanks :)

I like the legs on his chest. I think they look kinda like wicked purple tentacles or something :P.

I wanted to make certain it wasn't a partsformer and looked like something Has/Tak might design in their Beast Wars Metals/Transmetals lines (which is why I used the parts that I did).

I'll replace the above pics with better ones once my new camera comes in.

I just finished up a repaint of a different figure as well (Nautilator painted up as a member of the Beast Wars II God Neptune team). I'll probably take some pics of it soon and post them up in a new topic.

ALL HAIL THE HD GLORY!

It's still totally awesoem. Sure, I would have preffered if he had claws instead of "jet engines" but still...

You know, if you use one or two of Beast Wars Razorclaw's claws...

Anyway, good work!

Yep, I was actually going to use the feet/claws from Quickstrike at first, but then I didn't think it would be 'Transmetally/inorganic' enough (Beast modes for Transmetals are supposed to look mechanical while their robot modes look more organic), then I thought about using the claw/feet from Beast Wars Sea Clamp to see if they could actually kinda close around the jet engines, but that didn't work out too well, so I just left Beast Machines Thrust's thrustors in place, painted them lightly with some clear metallic purple and it ended up looking really 'Transmetally' over the original chrome, so I decided to quit trying to hide them and just leave them as is.

He's certainly not the first Beast Wars character not to have hands :P.

Either way, I'm really happy with how he turned out and I now have him displayed next to Transmetal Terrorsaur on my shelf and they look really great together.
