Transtech to get new lease of life

Pete from the TCC has announced on the club boards which direction the club comic is going to take following the current (post Marvel) Classics arc. While I can't quote directly from the club boards Pete has been kind enough to let members report in broad terms what's coming up to the wider community. And Transtech is it.

This will apparently be a different take to the original post Beast Machines concept, since the Universe comics have already covered the post BM era. Since the club comics have been focusing on the club combiner figures and hopping between realities it's fair to assume that this will in fact be a totally new TF continuity within the broader scope of Timelines. The Transtech name is apparently not being used for the project, what name they are going with is not known as yet.

It's been seven years coming but it looks like the TT designs are finally going to get their day in the sun.

Sucks to be broke!

Well if IDW keep getting the TPB rights as they did with the first arc of the FunPub stuff (Balancing Act) then this may end up available from your local comic shop in a few years time. With the Classics material drawing to a close (for the time being at least, can anyone really see that not being returned to once they have the Universe designs to play with as well?) we should see if that trend holds up before too much longer.

OK, I'm getting PISSED OFF at Hasbro constantly doing good crap like this ONLY for the people who can afford Collectors Club membership, or who can attend Botcon.

The powers of the club would argue that Hasbro does what Hasbro does - marketing to kiddies, and it's the club who tries to make things the hardcore adult collector. I do agree though they overcharge for their material, but what can you do?

sucks to be an international TF fan. really interested in the Transtech concept, but if this is where Hasbro's leading this line, it seems we'll have to spend blood money to be members or get no possible Transtech at all. i'd hate to overpay for a comic that has a great concept but so-so storyline and bizarre characterization.

first BotCon, then HTCC. boo Hasblo, way to go. (yeah, let the BotConners and TCC members start the fire, apparently we deserve it for being born into the 3rd world instead of America.)

I'm probably going to draw a /lot/ of fire for this, but I just don't feel the same "ZOMG!" kind of vibe for Transtech that other fans do. It's a neat concept, but if you do side-by-side comparisons of the '07 movie designs that so many people were screaming bloody murder about, and the transtech designs... I don't see the difference. Movie Megatron could've been Transtech Megatron for all the difference I saw.

How is it that one set of character designs gathers mostly negative forum press, while another is hailed as some kind of long-lost holy grail?

Woah guys, we're talking about comics here, not toys. The club have stated before that they won't be able to use moulds that havn't already seen a retail release (with the exception of remoulds to existing toys) so the only TT themed toys that may appear somewhere down the line would be existing toys done as TT characters. Given the unique look of the TT designs I can't see anything that would translate well in the way of existing toys in that context.

I was hoping for toy news, but recycling unused images in a different manner than origionaly intended is just as nice.

Movie+Animated= Trastech.
The movies complexity and the animated poseability and amazing prowl transformation technology.

I think the club has dropped the ball on this one (not for the first time). Transtech (name and designs) was only interesting as it was going to bring G1 and the Beast Era together. It was to have the characters well had known over the past 5 years meet up with the legendary G1 characters of old. Why not ignore Universe and instead produce a full blown proper sequel to BM?

Overall this is another reason not to sign up for but wait for the TPB. I'll sign up when it costs a reasonable price for international members.

At least in part because they've already tied Timelines into Universe with the inclusion of Nemesis Prime, Ramjet, Sentinel Maximus and Omega Prime in Balancing Act in their post Universe incarnations. Since they're reality swapping with these stories there would be nothing to stop them having a couple of alternative post BM continuities going on, but it is cleaner to keep things somewhat seperate.

I'm torn between opinions really. On one hand, I hate the Transtech designs. However, on the other hand, those designs have blossomed into some of the best figures made in the last 10 years.

I'll save my judgement for when we see all this new stuff at Botcon.

Oh, I loved the Transtech concept (not to say I thought all the designs were perfect)... they are alien robots, let them look like alien robots.

Yeah, boo Hasbro for allowing SOME people to enjoy something that would otherwise be dead to EVERYBODY.
Why should they do things like give some people what everybody wants, when they could do the right thing and give NOBODY anything they want.

People have wanted to see the transtech designs come to life for years now. Hasbro and the Club are giving you what you guys want. Again. Now shut up.

Awesomeness. Even if it's only in print form, I'm looking forward to this.

Why are people complaining about club membership? It's what, $40 a year? That really isn't that expensive...
I'm looking forward to seeing this. Some of the comic concepts done by Draxhall Jump for Transtech look pretty cool.
