Hey guys, here it is. I hope you like it but please let me know if you want a higher res pic because this thing lost a lot of detail getting crunched to 256k for the upload. Just post here or email me, or something because this thing looks great when it is viewed at a larger size. I had some trouble putting the word bubbles on so I just went 'old school' and used Windows Paint. Artist: Batt, Inker: Chris Gilmore. Anyways, this is from the G1 Marvel Comics series, Issue 27, page 19.

Here is a Photobucket link to a larger scan of the artwork, looks a bit better.

sorry, I posted this in the wrong thread... though when I posted it was still the 16th so please let me in

here's my entry... hope we get more... I don't wanna win by default :? Image

and here's the photobucket link: http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk27 ... anel-1.png

this is from page 3 of the first issue of the Marvel comics Transformers, and the page where they receive their name. Though, no known characters were featured, I like to think the red Autobot is a young Ironhide :)

Hi guys let me share this piece, I was planning on submitting for the transtopia art challenge. Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish in time. I used the artwork in the new masterpiece grimlock box (MP 08-x) as my inspiration. Hope you guys like it.

Wow, wonderful artwork!

You immediately get bonus points for excellent linework and honestly, it's great to see some nice variation of line weight in Transformers art! Mechanical forms greatly benefit from it. I really like the panel lines in the shadow of the wings/dinosaur shell kibble, the shadows on the left side of Grimlock's torso, as well as on Grimlock's thighs and knees. They really give some depth to the forms. Especially the thighs, wow, they're super thin. Very nicely done!

Hey, on the Grimlock. How much did you photo shop? I mean, you can obviously tell that you cleaned it up digitally, but did you digitally ink it also? I've thought about trying it myself, and it makes the artwork look good, but does it take much time? The only problem that I've seen with it at times is it seems to wash out some detail or lighten it, which is what it looks like could have happened on the background clouds, or the detail is incredibley thin. Also is hatching hard to do when you ink it that way? I'm sure that it's very time consuming.
Either way the artwork looks really clean.
Good Job. :APPLAUSE:

@Everyone
Hi guys, thanks for all your comments. Here is a link of the image I was talking about. Regarding the issue and page(or cover)for the comics it was published, I honestly don't have any idea. :(

Sorry wasn't able to find any bigger image:

@Sgt.Prime: I did this artwork entirely in photoshop. So it was easy for me by just zooming in on a area to control the thickness of the lines. A little tedious and took a lot of my time though. Been a long time since I drew last.

Storm Shadow ROC,
Hey, your artwork looks amazing, and extremely clean. The inker did a great job also. I was wondering if it was all done all by hand? IF so, then you are very talented. Have you ever done professionnal work, because I think that I have seen your name before, and also has the inker ever done work professionally. If you guys aren't getting paid to do artwork, then maybe you ought to look into it.
Great work guys!! :APPLAUSE:

Hey there,
The artwork was drawn by me and inked with micron pens and quill & ink. all the work was done a standard size Blueline comic board (11 x 17). The only time it was touched on a computer was when the word bubbles were added.

I want to thank you once again for taking part in the challenge, the sigs I'm sorry but it seams the GIMP hates me, you know the banners I have up in the results article? Those where meant to be the sigs just that all the white in them was going to be your artwork, I somehow managed to f**k it al up and well the white cannot be made transparent or erased away :?
Don't worry I'll get something new done by tomorrow evening was a bit of a hard week for me.

And I have to say I find all entries absolutely stunning, and I can't wait for next month's challenge in which I hope I'll manage to compete in too.
Choose an awesome topic Storm Shadow ROC. :D

Well, while I am not that willing to give up too much info about myself, I have been drawing all my life but if you are looking for a more indepth answer, all I can say is that I have done professional work for the big 2. As for the inker, he is a noob I felt sorry or so I gave him a chance. Just kidding, I have know the inker for awhile and have been working with him but he does have a some things to work on but he is getting better. I may use him for the next challenge. I hope this answers your questions.
