Trasformers Unlimited

Motto: "We Grimstone no bozo, we POPE!"
This is just the background universe to a story I am working on. Comments are appreciated.

This universe exists outside the Transformers multiverse, since it violates the idea of Unicron and Primus as singularities. A lot is still the same, as I want to match the feel of other universes. The biggest difference is that the Transformers as a species is very young.

When the universe was first born in the crucible of the big bang, a scientist from a higher plane of existence decided to study it. He created two robots to drop inside the universe, who would monitor until the verse died of heat death. Unicron, with his heart of fire, would monitor destruction. Primus, with his heart of electricity, would monitor creation. Neither was to intervene. To help make sure they didn't intervene, the scientist had them both transform into objects resembling planets (planets technically didn't exist YET, but they were an inevitability).

And so for billions of years Unicron and Primus sat and observed. Stars formed. Planets formed. Eventually, life formed and evolved into sentience. Both robots grew intrigued by the sentient species across the cosmos. Creation and destruction... with a purpose. It was beyond the scope of what their scientist builder had prepared them for.

Primus began rebuilding himself, combining the best aspects of the technologies of thousands of worlds. Eventually he was covered in cities, vehicles, weapons, and tools. Automated, but lifeless.

Unicron, on the other hand, decided that to truly complete his mission, to fully understand purposeful destruction, he would need to become a destroyer himself. So he became the planet eater, traveling across the universe and consuming every world in his path.

This continued until the day that Unicron devoured a planet that had lifeforms on it. Primus realized that he was bothered by this, that he had come to enjoy the life he monitored. Primus concluded that his mission would be a failure if creation was stopped prematurely by Unicron eating the creators. So Unicron must be stopped. Yet Primus was the weaker of the two robots. His only chance of defeating Unicron was not in his own power, but in the potential of the technology now covering his body.

So Primus divided his electric heart into hundreds of thousands of pieces, and imbued them into the technological marvels on his surface. In doing so, he sacrificed his ability to transform back into robot mode, but imbued that ability into his new children. The Transformer race was born.

In being created from pieces of Primus' heart, the Transformers all were born with language and some understanding of what they were. But they did not how they had come to be. They could point to the direction of planets that bore sentient life, in the same instinctual way that birds can find north. They had no knowledge of Unicron, except for a fear buried deep in their instincts, that would lie dormant for now.

Before long, the Transformers broke into factions and traveled to different worlds in search of answers. Two groups headed to Earth. Those that called themselves Autobots, who had inherited Primus' will to protect life, led by Optimus. And those that called themselves Decepticons, who in gaining Primus' will to keep planets safe decided that the best way was to conquer them, led by Megatron.

In a different but nearby universe (based on the Fansproject verse), life on Cybertron starts the same as it did in G1. The point of divergence is that Rodimus becomes Matrix-bearer much earlier, and Convoy does not at all.

Soon after Rodimus is named Prime, the planet Cybertron starts drifting toward a star. The Transformers make every effort, but are unable to prevent their home from falling into the giant nuclear furnace. They are thus forced to relocate to the surprisingly numerous planets that orbit this star. Rodimus Prime makes sure to retrieve the Matrix of Leadership and the Key to Vector Sigma.

What the Transformers are not aware of, though some do believe, is that Cybertron is their creator Primus. Primus is quite capable of surviving inside a star, but he needs to reformat his body some to do so. To make the upgrade easier, Primus shifts a portion of his power and mind elsewhere.

What the Transformers ARE aware of, is that the Key to Vector Sigma merges with the Matrix, which in turn merges with Rodimus' body. Their leader is consumed in fire as his body upgrades into Firebird Prime. In vehicle mode, he has a new trailer. In robot mode, he has new armor and a cannon and a Roller. His Roller is a perfect scout, and secretly houses the mind of Primus under its shell program.

Due to being one with the Matrix, Firebird Prime is granted new abilities. He can unleash fire as though channeling the sun of that star system. Under certrain circumstances, when other Transformers resonate with the will of Primus, he can upgrade their bodies. And through meditation, he can speak to Vector Sigma and receive visions of the multiverse.

Firebird has twice so far used his powers to upgrade another Transformer's body. First, granting his second-in-commmand a trailer, turning Convoy into Powered Convoy. And second, giving the young Hopper a third mode and powerful sword.

Meanwhile, the faction of Transformers that believed in Primus merge with a native humanoid population that worships their sun as the god Ra. Over time, they become a single religion devoted to Ra-Mus. Some of the humanoids are made into targetmasters, headmasters, and powermasters. They view Firebird Prime as a messiah figure, though Firebird himself does not wish to be seen as such.

There is, however, a secret cult of humanoids that believe in the purity of Ra, and that Firebird Prime is a false prophet. They plan to join a dissatisfied group of Transformers -- the Destrons -- to end his rule.

What eventually unites these universes is that they all involved Transformers defeating Unicron without the power of Primus.

Anyhow, the next universe is crafted from the Mastermind Creations Knight Morphers.

In this reality, Unicron succeeded in destroying Cybertron quite early on. What Transformers existed at the time were killed in the process. Primus himself managed to jettison part of his lifeforce, the Allspark, across the cosmos, to keep Unicron from gaining that power.

The Allspark eventually reached a prehistorical Earth. Lacking any available mechanical container, the force of Primus embedded itself within the very planet. This resulted in very subtle influences on mankind as he evolved.

For the continent of Europe, this resulted in their having an industrial revolution while in the medieval era. Most of the continent became a united front as a land of castles and railroads. Meanwhile, European Druids had managed to cull a Matrix Flame in the center of Stonehenge. They did not truly understand it, but managed to gain some abilities superficially resembling magic.

All was peaceful in Europe until another land declared war. (Exactly who declared war will depend on what products MC releases in the future.) The king of Europe commissioned his druids and blacksmiths to work together, and create for him an invincible knight.

So the druids crafted from the Matrix Flame an Ember to grant life. And the blacksmiths crafted an Iron Matrix to house it. When finished, the Matrix of Life was installed in the continent's greatest pride and achievement: their pinnacle steam train, nicknamed The Prime. No one involved was entirely sure what would happen, but the king was pleased as he witnessed the train become suffused in fire and transform into a robotic knight. This knight morpher would be the champion Europe needed.

So pleased was the king, in fact, that he went on to secretly commission a Black Knight...

Moving on to a PCC universe:

In this reality, the Transformers never leave Cybertron, and their War Within bodies are their only ones. A version of the movie's events occur. Unicron approaches, Optimus dies, Magnus fails to open the Matrix.

As Unicron is about to consume his brother, it is Grimlock who manages to open the Matrix. Unicron's body explodes, and his head goes flying off into space. Unfortunately, Grimlock and the Matrix were inside the head and get lost to space as well.

The head tears through subspace and eventually crashes into a prehistoric earth. It is the asteroid that wipes out the dinosaurs. The impact is so great that Unicron, Grimlock, and the Matrix are virtually disintegrated. The energies of the Matrix are released and perform a last act of trying to preserve life.

The essences of the dying dinosaurs are all drawn together and made into a new spark, while remnants of Unicron and Grimstone are forged into a new body. Over millions of years, deep underground, the last child of the Matrix forms atom by atom. Eventually, Grimstone is born! He tears his way to the surface of the Earth, to be discovered and then worshiped by humans.

Although Grimstone could consider Primus, Unicron, and Grimlock to all be his parents, he has no memory of them. Only fragmentary glimpses of dinosaur instincts. That Grimstone is an amalgam of so many lifeforms results in him addressing himself as "We Grimstone".

Locked within Grimstone is a codex of dinosaur DNA and souls. Which Grimstone eventually builds a large forge by which to unleash them. So far, he has only managed to unlock the DNA of Dimetrodons, Parasaurolophus, Pachycephalosaurus and Ankylosaurus. Each one forged is the resurrection of an actual dinosaur, and one step closer to Grimstone no longer being legion.

One day, Decepticons finally reach and attack Earth. The need for power to defend his human followers leads to Grimstone learning he can combine with his dinobot children into a "Thunder Giant" mode. With this power, he defends the whole planet.
