TV Shows you wish lasted longer.

Everyone finds a show in their life that isn't loved by everyone and it only lasts a season or two. Sometimes they're lucky and it lasts three seasons. I've been thinking about this all day and I've thought of a few I wish lasted much much longer.

1. Veronica Mars: The acting on this show was topnotch. Kristen Bell was beautiful, smart, and delivered her lines with the right amount of emotion for every situation. The entire cast was picked perfectly. UPN and then The CW never gave this show the chance it deserved and just pulled the plug with no explanation. The show didn't end at all. It left us with one giant cliff hangar.

2. Brimstone: While lots of people probably heard of Veronica Mars, Brimstone might not sound to familiar. Satan was played perfectly by John Glover. The series only lasted 13 episodes and that's a shame. The show was like a less comedic version of the currently popular show Reaper.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brimstone_(TV_series)

3. Point Pleasant: This is probably one of the most underrated shows FOX has ever come up with. It was about the daughter of Satan who doesn't remember who she is. It helps that the actress playing her was hot as hell! Granted, it was kind of teen soap at times, but it was a pretty dark show and I was really pissed when FOX pulled the plug after 8 episodes.

Anyone else have any shows they wish lasted longer?

Drive: Interesting idea but never had a chance to develope.

Shadow Raiders: Ended on a cliff hanger, killed due to lack of funding after the action figures produced to finance the second season got buried by the release of SW: Episode 1 toys.

Angel: Season 5 was great, leaving the story there wasn't

West Wing: I would have like to see how things changed under the new administration.

Studio 60: Same as Drive, NBC screwed the pooch and blamed it on bad ratings when they failed to properly promote it.

Full Metal Challenge: Brilliant idea from TLC, Teams built all-purpose vehicles without being given full details of what they had to face. Only did one season sadly.

Many others but those were the first to come to mind.

Point Pleasant and Firefly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firefly_(TV_series)). Both shows were top notch with good dialogue and deep plots. I guess techincally we did get a movie out of Firefly (Serenity, which I did enjoy), but some how I still feel they got royally screwed....

Firefly is/was awesome as hell. Of course Fox is dumb so it got canceled.

Hopefully we'll get it back again someday soon.

For those who have never seen Firefly, watch this clip.

That about sums up how awesome Firefly is.

I'm due to re-watch this series again, I think this might have pushed me over the edge: looks like I now have plans tonight!

FireFly- Anyone who has seen this show understands. It was Star Wars with more cowboys. It suffered from bad ratings (Presumably, this is Fox we're talking about), and was canceled after 11 of it's 14 episodes aired, many of which were shown in the wrong order.

Megas XLR- This is a show that doesn't take itself too seriously to the point where it parodies and makes fun of it's own genre, poking fun at Gundam, Transformers, Voltron, and anime in general. Plus it had Steve Blum, and he's awesome.

Futurama- I shouldn't have listed this because it lasted four seasons and four DVD movies, but it's "low ratings" were probably due to Fox constantly messing around with the schedule, skipping a week, or showing an episode on a different day.

Arrested Development- Alright, this one really DID have low ratings, which is bizarre. You'd be hard pressed to find a comedy series that's both intelligent and hilarious. And Ron Howard was the freakin' narrator.

I agree with you on Drive (Nathan Fillion FTW), but I thought Studio 60 went under because it was essentially a more dramatic version of 30 Rock.

I've been wanting to rewatch it for awhile.

Unfortunatly my box-set I happened to let a friend borrow back in 07, and I don't see them much, and I don't feel like just calling them to get it back, it would be kind of rude.

So I think I'll have to "acquire" it through other means, then go buy it again from best buy probably.

Fox does that alot. They have killed alot of half decent shows that way. But they will show that retarded reruns of Seinfeld 18 times a day.

Yep. Mainframe's double title for Canada.

Beasties = Beast Wars
Shadow Raiders = War Planets

Something about using the word WAR in a show kids will watch.

I was looking for a movie to watch one night on Showtime and passed Shadow Raiders, all I could think was "isn't this War Planets?" That was years ago though. It was an awesome show with an awesome toy line. I had a few of the planets. My favorite was Reptizar I think it was called. It had lizard soldiers.

Sailor Moon was over 200 episodes, and actually had an ending. Meaning it was several times as long as any of the other shows we've mentioned.

Ren and Stimpy was brought back on Spike after much fan request for more and the creater was allowed to release what he had always wanted. The fans were overjoyed.

It was a colossal failure and pulled off for horrible ratings. What fans remained were glad that it could ruin things further.

#1 THRESHOLD(2005) CBS only broadcasted around 6-8 episodes of it . Wish Sci-fi Channel would pick it up and give it at least a season.

#2 Azumanga Daioh--The anime series wish they had drawn it out.

I thought the creators of Reboot were trying to bring the series back?

Moonlight is the one show I wished they continued with. It was stupid for them to cancel it.

Journeyman was another good show.

Reboot was finished in TV movies.

No clue if they were shown in the States, but YTV has shown them up here a few times.

I never got to see it, but Moonlight sounded like a updated version of Forever Knight

Forever Knight was awesome!
