Haven't listened yet, but I've got something to chime in about. This is a heads up, as, in the Rescue Bots conversation, I was suggested to, if I were to ever do a review(s) of the series, let someone know and maybe get it news'd. Well, I have decided that I will indeed do an editorial/review of the show in the near future, so stay tuned for things to come.

In the meantime, I think I'll listen to the podcast in the morning. It's late here. I-)

Weapon: Electro-Sword
just got to the part about gimmicks and the Headmaster/Powermaster/Targetmaster combo. It reminded me how back when Ultimate Optimus Prime was released I was thinking the REAL Ultimate Optimus Prime would be an updated version of Powermaster Prime who's also a Headmaster and both small robots could transform into Targetmaster guns when he's not combined with the trailer. No Pretender shell in that concept but close enough ;)

I found that 'Jungle' store you keep mentioning in the podcast. I could not believe my eyes when I found a MIB Beast Wars Neo Killer Punch for 3,150 Yen (approximately $40 US). I already have one, but I had to snatch up an extra at that price, he's just way too hard to find these days. I grabbed a couple of other Japanese Beast Wars figures I'd been hunting for as well (Hellscream and Drill Nuts) all for far less than I've seen them go for on ebay.

Very cool :)!

edit: By the way, Ryan, whatever you're doing with your mic, it is working. No issues with the volume of your voice at all this time :D!

Listening now.

In regards to redecoing Thundertron, TakaraTomy is going to release him (and quite possbly redeco him) as Leo Prime instead of Thundertron.

Whoa! :shock: I just noticed something about Ultra Magnus! When you guys were talking about how broad his Vehicle Mode is, I took a look at it myself and saw something. Is that an... Arms Micron port on the truck's side?!!! In a Hasbro toy pic?!!! :shock:

ジンライ = "Jinrai" (but officially spelled "Ginrai").

Totally agree on the Armada Jetfire redecoed/remolded as Galaxy Shuttle. ;)^

In fact, I loved this whole "missed opportunity redeco ideas" segment. You guys should do it again when you think of more ideas later. :D

My redeco/remold ideas
Dawn of Future's Past redeco ideas me and a friend of mine came up with:

Terrorsaur - Energon Skyblast
Scorponok - Energon Scorponok (NOT Cybertron Shortround)
Tarantulas - Cybertron Unicron or Cybertron Scrapmetal
Blackarachnia - Cybertron Thunderblast (maybe? :???: )
Inferno - Energon Bulkhead
Silverbolt - Cybertron Snarl
Quickstrike - Energon Signal Flare
Magmatron - Armada Tidal Wave
Big Convoy - Cybertron Optimus Prime
BWII Galvatron - Cybertron Megatron
God Neptune - a combination of the following
* Halfshell - Energon Barricade
* Sea Phantom - Energon Blackout/Stormcloud
* Terrormander - Energon Terradive/Sky Shadow
* Scylla - Energon Windrazor/Treadshot
* Coelagon - Energon Bonecrusher/Sledge
Motorarm - Energon Insecticon
Cryotek - Energon Shockblast
Onyx Primal - Cybertron Sideways
Protoform X - currently, we've narrowed it down to 2010 Voyager Sea Spray, but I'm keeping an eye out for better ideas

Also, we're both in agreement that the Cybertron Override mold would have been a better choice for Cheetor and Tigatron than the Clocker mold. (wouldn't even have needed a new head). And I say give the Clocker mold to Rattrap.

As for a non-DoFP redeco, Titanium 6" The Fallen as IDW pre-Earth G1 Megatron.

In regards to FOC Bruticus, I kinda wish Vortex could become his Jet Mode and Brawl his Battle Platform Mode, in addition their Vehicle, Robot, and Limb Modes.

Gotta pause from listening for the moment since I got to go out for a while. I'll be back to finish listening later. Pretty good show so far. :APPLAUSE:

Weapon: Battle Blades
Molds that needs to be repainted into anything: Cybertron Menasor and Metroplex

Obviously Menasor is an easier choice, as big as Metroplex is.

I know Archer hates the mold, but maybe TFCC could step up to the plate on that one.

re: my question. Positive responses are fine and dandy, I just find SU&TMM overused and unoriginal...it was kinda funny the first 500 times, but the last 3000+, not so much. I'm all for creative and/or amusing ways to give a fig props (or even rip it,) but I'm just bored with SU&TMM. It's like the oldsters that think dropping a 'NOT!' at the end of their sarcastic comment is still fresh 25 years later. SQUEEE! on the other hand...I just picture a grown man or teenage kid making that noise and find it utterly pansyrific. But maybe that's the 'appeal', I dunno.

Back now. Continuing from where I left off.

Whoa! :shock: The place I literally stopped at was immediately right before the Rescue Bots discussion. That was in, all honesty, not intended. Big time coincidence. :lol:

Oh, man! Is that my voice?!!! :SICK: I sound AWFUL in this! Just, AWFUL! :oops:

Good grief, I sound like a hopeless, rambling fanboy. #-o

I really gotta make sure that review I write later sounds a whole lot more professional than the more dorky approach I take in this discussion. :-B

Something I wanted to mention when Counterpunch mentioned the possibility of Rescue Bots showing up on Prime is that, at BotCon this year, I mentioned to Aaron Archer that I would loved to own main toyline-styled Deluxe class figures of Heatwave, Chase, Boulder, and Blades. And, if they did appear in the Prime cartoon, they'd likely get new Prime-styled designs, so that would serve as precedence for them to get Deluxe class toys in that style. 8)

Jon (in regards Dr. Morocco): "If only they had renamed him 'Dr. Arkeville', I'd have been so much happier." -- I wanted to respond to this before. I'm sorry, Jon, but I must respectfully disagree. As well as disagree with the idea of making Jon Malkovich's DOTM character Bruce Brazos being Movieverse Dr. Arkeville instead of Patrick Dempsey being new character Dylan Gould. I say this because Dr. Arkeville was a BORING character. His biggest contribution was a mind-control device, which is so cliched a villain plot that I find it incredibly hard to believe that the Decepticons couldn't have come up with such a device on their own without him. And, beyond his creating the hypno-chip, his role was nothing more than another superfluous pawn in the grand scheme of things. He literally served his purpose in only Part 1 of "The Ultimate Doom", as his technology had been replicated elsewhere without his supervision by Part 2, thus making him even more needless. He then proceeded to protest the rest of the Decepticons' plans (both Megatron's and Starscream's), further showing that his services were no longer necessary. He was then completely unnecessary for the remainder of his appearances in the "The Ultimate Doom" and "Countdown to Exctinction", getting injured and rebuilt into a completely immobile cyborg. He then just vanished from the episode as the plot finally realized that he had no place left in the story to appear in. Ergo, both Dr. Morocco and Dylan Gould being new individuals from Dr. Arkeville was a GOOD thing, IMHO.

Ryan (in regards to the Playskool Transformers Go-Bots): "Yeah, but that wasn't with Decepticons in it." -- And? What does that matter? Like I said this show proves that you don't need Decepticons to make it work. In that cartoon, they are troublesome, mischievous Go-Bots who escape to Earth and cause all kinds of disasters that the Go-Bot Protectors have come in and save the day, as well as make the enemy see the error of their ways in the end. It's exactly as you described for what you were wanting out of Rescue Bots, only difference is the differently-named faction.

As for the note that MECH has yet to attack Griffin Rock for its advanced technology, I thought of that myself, as it seems like they're just daring MECH to come in and attack. BUT, with Dr. Morocco having possibly conversed with them over the phone, there could very well be a better chance at seeing something come out of this later on. ;)

-----------------------

I think the Hasbro FE Vehicon might be darker than the Takara one. IIRC, images of the Hasbro one seen at some convention displays fro ma way's back had it look almost blackish compared to the more dark-purplish of the Takara one. Don't quote me on this, but it is possible.

I made the idiotic mistake of passing on a Beast Wars Returns Obsidian at BotCon this year, and he was being sold for a really good price .I don't quite remember what that price was, but the point is that it was reasonable and I didn't go for it. :BANG_HEAD:

How tall is Hegemon anyway? Like, if you were to put him in an official size class, which would his robot mode best size up to?

Another great show, guys (minus my sounding like a groupie :oops: ).

Another enjoyable podcast.

Two repaint ideas I've always wanted have been the RTS Tracks/wheeljack mold retooled into G1 powermaster Getaway. I know thw molds been used a bit now but The wings are there, the hood is there and the chest is definitely in the right place. Easy.

A second repaint and my fave, would be to take Generations Drift and turn him into Turbomaster Boss from 92. Have a look at Drift. Now look at Boss.
I would love to see this. I know the colours are similar to the Blurr retool but they could go one step further and even retool the hood so those two panels that slide over the shoulders are removed creating room for the cannon to sit in in vehicle mode. Money for jam. This is what I would love.

The repaints i would like...Hmm :-?

Repaints of the Unicron Triology figures to make the cast of Theft of the Golden Disk

More Animated Seekers would be nice(but is not far fetched that might appears sometime later)

Starscream for Jhiazus maybe
Starscream with Pretender/Action Master colors
Reveal the shield Jazz with movie colors
G1 Predacons using all sorts of mold that date back to Transmetals
More movie seekers
Transformers Crossovers King Kong
Repaints of Primus to make different versions of Cybertron
Animated Sentinel with Movie colors
and more...

Having to disagree with Sabrblade,Transformers Prime is fun.

I TOTALLY agree with Ryan on the missing Energon Seekers. Ever since the G1 Starscream repaint hit state side I was like, "O.K, bring on the other two". Years later, I'm still waiting. >:oP

To continue, I would love to see the Energon Dinobots repainted into the outragous unreleased G2 colors.

Image
Image

I surprised these two havn't been repainted into ANYTHING. Give this great set another run. . . TFCC?

Classics Mirage into G2 Mirage

Device Label Blaster into Twincast.

Energon Battle Ravage into Weirdwolf (I know it's suppost to be a cat, but the mold takes ques to G1 Weirdwolf, and a new tail would make it look nice)

G1 Astrotrain into Sooooooooul Train! (for lolz)

And one more, repaint Energon Insecticon into G1 colors.

So last comment, I always enjoy the show!!! =D

I had no idea that figure existed. I'm a little sketchy on Cybertron, Armada and Energon figs. All in all, not a bad homage. The yellow face makes it.

Hi Crew,

I was real impressed with the ideas, although the human prime figures would require nealry as much plastic, if not more than a cyberverse legion, although it would be a fun chase...it could be advertised with pieces from that Season 1 Arachnia teamed up with MECH episode...'find Jack's mom'

re Repaints

for the 30th anniversary...there could be a lot of 'milking' of a classic seeker as the Purple, Teal (oh wait Masterpiece Starscream one)and grey seekers from "More than meets the eye" , Dreamwave's Aero Drones, or the background characters in many of the comic pages.

Maybe DOTM Skyhammer as Nefarious' Fortress, or Springer/Crossblades (any helicopter transformer really)
Howabout the Animated Jetfire/Jetstorm, with a repaint like the energon checkpoint and Prowl, so that the safegurad doesn't look like a court jester?

good to hear you guys talk about rescue bots though. i got a friends son hooked on transformers last christmas by grabbing him prime and bee from the line and now he has all the bots and watches Prime as well as G1. Toys I'd like redecoed.....Universe 2.0 Dinobot as BW Grimlock. Cybertron Metroplex as ANYBODY, because that's a cool mold that needs another iteration. Armada Megatron as G2 Megatron. Or we could go outside the box and use him as Brawl or somebody.
Also, some old gems I'd like rereleased, redecos or not: the Beast Wars combiners. Magnaboss, Tripredacus, and Magmatron. I have a beat-up old Magnaboss from Christmas of 97, I'd love to get a fresh one. The BW combiners had their flaws, but they're seriously underappreciated toys.
