Well, the galleries (chug) do provide for our current home for our lively hood (TF-wise anyway). Without the galleries (chug) how would we all know what we would want to purchase, especially on those borderline purchases. Galleries (chug) make Seibertron.com what it is, and galleries (chug) even if they are of Star Wars crossovers, must be included in our discussion, even if just for a little bit.... hic...

For me, his shell never fits him well at all when I try to transform him to his car (which I like the design of). Honestly, because of that, I have put him away in the waste that is The Island of Misfit toys. I have better BBees to spend my time on! :)

Finally found time to sit down and listen.

That Wheelie may be too big for Classics, but it's just perfect for Masterpiece. ;)

Thanks again to Duque for this pic. ;)^

As for RiD, I loved it!

And I too have a story about it to share, if anyone'd want to hear it.

So you won't feel alone, I'll go first...
I was in middle school I believe, I was playing some MegaMan at home ( i think) then my older brother came back from shopping with his friend and he came with good news! "Transformers are back!...as cars." Then he spinned stories of a new Prowl toy, Mini cars, and a Prime was not a money or a cyber "monkey" (Beast Mechines). I didn't believe him at first, till we went to Wal-Mart the following weekend, and there they were, all of the Spy Changers, Prowl, Prime, and I felt like I was 6 again. I havn't seen TFs as cars since G2. Now I don't know which RID toy I bought first, but I know it was either Prowl or the 2 pack Hot Shot and R.E.V; but I was a happy tween. After that, the TF collecter bug bit, really deep. Long story short, here I am, on a TF site almost everyday.

Okey dokey.

Many years ago, back when Beast Wars and Beast Machines were airing on Fox Kids, there was a big conflict that occured on my local TV stations. Originally, my local broadcast channels consisted of two Fox stations: one that was the regular Fox channel (Fox 13), and the other was like an independent channel that Fox owned (Fox 38). And between these two stations, it was 38 that the Fox Kids programming aired on (as well as sitcoms and such); the other station showed only news and sports.

Around the late 90's/early 2000, a big change came about. The WB, then airing on another channel, decided to move away from its current channel, 32, and took over channel 38. The WB had acquired the Fox station that showed Fox Kids, but fortunately Fox Kids programming was still allowed to play on that station. At the same time that Fox Kids was on, The WB was trying to cram in their own Kids WB! programming onto the same channel. This wasn't that bad at first, as Fox Kids remained on Saturday mornings with Kids WB airing on Sunday mornings.

Circa 2001, Beast Machines had ended. Digimon season 2 ended. Power Rangers was in the middle of its Time Force series. Action Man's first season just ended. A commercial for several new series and new episodes of then-airing shows had been shown, which advertised RiD, Digimon season 3, Action Man season 2, Galidor, the Ripping Friends, and other shows. I was so excited about this I could have died of happiness.

Then, in mid 2001, the bomb was dropped. The WB 38 completely removed all the Fox Kids programming in favor of its Kids WB! shows. The WB announced that "The WB will no longer be showing Fox Kids programming on this station, we will continue to play Kids WB programs on this station. If you have any questions, please call this number." I was devastated. I called the number and E-mailed Fox Kids, but no response.

And this whole event happened TWO WEEKS before the premiere of Transformers: Robots in Disguise, as well as ONE WEEK before the premiere of the third season of Digimon, and right in the MIDDLE of an epic three-part episode of Power Rangers: Time Force, and completely interfered with several other Fox Kids shows! :-x

I did not have cable at the time, nor was I capable of watching any of these shows at all. The only way I could watch any of them was to view them when my family would go on vacation. Fortunately, that following weekend, we did go on vacation and so I was able to see the first episode of RiD (on its premiere date) and was very impressed. That same weekend I bought the Predacon three-pack of Slapper/Gas Skunk/Dark Scream. Months later I was on vacation again and saw three more episodes, as well as the new Fox Kids shows I was missing out on at the time. So it was only on such vacations as these that I saw RiD.

Fortunately, Fox Kids did eventually come back almost seven months later, on the independent channel 32 that The WB was on before their (hostile) takeover of 38. Unfortunately, however, RiD was nearly at its broadcast end by then and went off the air shortly after. During its entire broadcast run, I had only gotten to see six episodes, and not in the correct order either (except for the first episode, which I saw first, but that was a one-time good fortune).

It would not be until very late 2007 when I finally got to see the whole series on YouTube. To this day, I still loathe The WB for what they did to my favorite network as a child. But seeing as how it no longer exists (as it merged with UPN to form The CW, and Kids WB! has since been replaced with The CW4Kids), I hold neither any positive nor negative feelings towards it. I simply don't care for it anymore since it has faded out from existence.

But, yeah, that's my complicated history with RiD. :-B

I remember something happening with my Fox Kids station, but I don't think it was the WB taking it over. If I recall correctly, Fox Kids changed it's name to something else (4Kids TV maybe, but I want to say that came after the first name change). I watched a lot of RID, up to a few episodes past Ultra Magnus's appearance. All I remember is suddenly I couldn't figure out when RID came on, and never caught the end of the series. I think it was also around 2007 when I finally finished watching the series.

I personally loved RID. Out of the last decades cartoon series (starting and ending within that decade), it falls right under Animated on my list. Definitely beat out the Unicron Trilogy.

I believe I had the same type of problem. I just never thought about it much until you guys brought it up. Beast Machines station did change near the end, and then the FOX BOX or whatever it was called changed as well, and I know I had a hard time seeing later episodes of RID, but somehow I caught the last one once, and never again. Basically from the moment Megs became Galvatron, I don't remember seeing much, at least that's what I think my memory is. But I do remember the matrix blade and I think it was a volcano, and at the end, Fort max taking the Predacons and Decepticons off of Earth as prisoners.

My memory is sketchy on it though.

Lord Onixprime wrote:I remember something happening with my Fox Kids station, but I don't think it was the WB taking it over. If I recall correctly, Fox Kids changed it's name to something else (4Kids TV maybe, but I want to say that came after the first name change).
Ah yes. The death of Fox Kids by the hands of 4Kids was a mixed moment at best. On one hand, fox kids was being killed off. On the other hand, it gave birth to Fox Kids' spiritual successor, Jetix. though, there were some stages that came before that.

Fox Kids went off the air on September 7, 2002 and 4Kids Entertainment bought its timeslot, creating their own program block (on September 14, 2002) called the FoxBox, which eventually evolved into 4Kids TV on January 22, 2005.

During this time, The WB and UPN merged together on September 18, 2006, forming a new channel called The CW. All KidsWB! programming was moved to The CW while keeping its KidsWB name. Eventually, like its Fox Kids rival, KidsWB! went off the air as well (on May 17, 2008) and its timeslot was bought by, you guessed it, 4Kids Entertainment, in which they created another program block called The CW4Kids on May 24, 2008. Thus resulting in them having two similar program blocks on two separate channels.

Eventually, 4Kids TV came to its end, but instead of disappearing altogether, it simply moved into The CW4Kids. With the CW4Kids being the only one left of the two, it continued showing various 4Kids shows, as well as a few others like The Spectacular Spider-Man (which moved to Disney XD) and Kamen Rider Dragon Knight (the last show I watched on that program block and the only one at that for the most part). And now, The CW4Kids lives on under it new name of The CW4Kids Toonzai, which consists of some non-4Kids programming (like the super-edited version of Dragon Ball Z Kai >:oP ) in addition to its normal 4Kids shows.

Regarding the fate of the Kids WB! shows, when it got replaced by The CW4Kids, some of its programming remained on The CW4Kids, until it all got taken off, ending with The Batman. After that, most/all of its shows from varying points of the past were moved to/started up again on Cartoon Network, Boomerang, and Toon Disney, and even more came back when Disney XD and the Hub was created. Currently, all shows that were previously part of Kids WB! that are still airing on TV (whether in new episodes or reruns) are playing on Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Disney XD, and the Hub.

As for the Fox Kids programming, nearly all of it moved to ABC Family and was gathered in its own 2-hour program block everyday, showing four different shows each day (except for Sunday mornings, which took those two hours to show four Power Rangers episodes from past seasons in a block called "Best of Power Rangers"). Also, new episodes of Power Rangers would air on ABC Kids (formerly Disney's 1 Saturday Morning), and continued to do so until 2010 (it now airs on Nick and Nicktoons with its currently airing Samurai series).

But one show did not go onto ABC Family and instead went to UPN: Digimon season four (Frontier's English dub). But once that show ran all the way through to its finale, it finally joined its fellow former-Fox Kids shows on ABC Family, which had by this time developed its own programming block on that channel called Jetix (Jetix didn't start up right away when the shows came to ABC Family). Jetix began playing on ABC Family for a while, and eventually added a part of it to the Toon Disney channel. Over time, the Toon Disney Jetix block grew bigger than the ABC Family Jetix block (by this time "Best of Power Rangers" had been changed to "Power Ranger Generations"), and it was finally decided that all Jetix shows would be permanently moved to Toon Disney, where they resided from then on, taking up the Primetime and late-night/early-morning timeslots.

Eventually, a new show aired on Jetix that had a connection to an old Fox Kids show. This new show was Digimon Data Squad (the Digimon Savers English dub). Sometime after this show reached its finale, Toon Disney was completely revamped as Disney XD, consisting solely of showes targeted at late-grade school students to older children (gone were all the preschool/kindergarten/early-grade school targeted shows). With this new change came some new live-action shows, some other old cartoons from the 90's (some even came from Kids WB!) and all shows that were part of Jetix were integrated in to the channel itself, being shown sparsely during the day, and all the main shows starting sometime after midnight and ending before the dawn (except for Power Rangers, which was removed form the channel when it changed). This is how it is today for most of all the surviving Fox Kids shows. Phew! Man, I loved Fox Kids so much! :-B

I personally loved RID. Out of the last decades cartoon series (starting and ending within that decade), it falls right under Animated on my list. Definitely beat out the Unicron Trilogy.
It ties with Beast Machines as my fourth favorite series, below Beast Wars, Animated, and Chojin Masterforce. ;)

Fob Box does ring a bell. I also remember the episode with Galvatron being the very last episode I saw.
