Good to see the responses here.

If anyone has questions about what was discussed or wants to give us grief, go right ahead.

I think I promised to post a link to the book: Legacy of Shadow: Master of the House

Most Beast Wars fans I know of are into a lot of areas of Transformers despite holding BW above most.

I mean, we managed to get 2 BW characters into the Hall of Fame over the last 3 years. Says something.

The real thing going on isn't a tapering off of BW fans, it is the general lack of enthusiasm that Hasbro even gives a damn about us BW fans anymore. We go 2 new figures in the Universe/Generations line and then Hasbro decided that G1 is all they were going to pretend exists.

I'm hoping Takara surprises us with like a Masterpiece Primal or something when Beast Wars 20th Anniversary roles around, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

While I do agree that that would be awesome, I'm basically of the opinion that most of the Beast Wars Telemocha Series figures, as well as a few other certain figures like Henkei! Henkei! Dinobot, are already the most perfect representations of those specific BW characters that they don't need MPs of their own. After all, the Maximals and Predacons are supposed to be much smaller than the Autobots and Decepticons, so their being Deluxes makes them already closer to scale with the much larger 'Bot/'Con MPs. ;)

Collection criteria?

Only started collecting right after Animated ended. Ultimately I want a display of the animated movie cast, not necessarily with a G1 look. Generations, RTS and United have been very good to me in this regard providing Kup, Blurr and the Junkions (as many different variation of them as I can get). Masterpiece Grimlock in T-Rex mode scales beautifully.
Perfect Effect Arcee and Fansproject Springer fill in gaps that can't be filled with official toys.
Still looking for an affordable City Commander and something for Hot Rod.

Have a side collection of TF: Prime figures but I'll be hitting the brakes on that soon. Pretty unimpressed by what little we have seen of season 3. Might only get Smokescreen and BH Soundwave solely for Ravage.

Interesting idea to get rid of the the forums. I do hope you'd consider keeping the non TF threads as that's how a great deal of us communicate.

I'm with you on that. The TM series was an epic set of figures. That Primal is PERFECT.

What I'd like to see are not MP, but new deluxe molds for season 1 Airazor, Rhinox, Terrorsaur and Scorponok that look closer to the show. Even a new Cheetor/Tigatron mold (with a new, more 'catlike' bothead and kibble arms that fold behind the back of the bot mode like on the show) would be awesome as well. I've considered often times attempting such a mod myself by somehow adding a hinge, but I'm not too confident that I'd get it right.

I'd totally settle for a 20th Anniversary Generations Beast Wars line, with a brandy new Voyager Primal and Megatron, and then preferably a Voyager Rhinox and Inferno. Deluxes of the rest, and a new Cheetor, because the Universe one, just wasn't very good. I don't care if they just stick to season 1 either, but something to acknowledge its achievements and importance to the franchise.

Voyager Dinobot too since he was the tallest season 1 Maximal.

Hmm, looking at this chart, looks like some characters are more differently size than we thought. Primal's shorter than Megs, Scorponok's tiny... er, I don't think I like that. :-s

Their sizes/scale frequently varied (even within a single set of scenes within a single episode), particularly during season 1. It frequently had more to do with dramatic effect than anything else.

That's not a very good size chart, as it was done well before they even redesigned the characters to not completely emulate their toys. Terrorsaur is evidence to that, as he was always around the same height as Waspinator and Scorponok, and definitely never taller than Primal.

Well, either way, we do at least know the heights of the original season 1 Maximals, from tallest to shortest, were Dinobot, Rhinox, Optimus Primal, Cheetor, and Rattrap.

Not sure exactly about Tigatron and/or Airazor. Tigatron was at least taller than Cheetor, and Airazor was at least shorter than both him and Optimus (but taller than Rattrap, IIRC).

I'd welcome a Beast Wars line about now...as crappy as the new guys are at TF design at this point, go ahead and let them practice on Beast Wars crap for a while.

Speaking from personal experience, this is what it is like to enter a toy aisle with Razorclaw.

"Hey Bob, do you have that one?"

"Yes."

And repeat...
