Underrated Shelf-Warmers

Shelf-Warmers, as many of us know, are the toys that just sit on the shelves or pegs at retail stores. That swarm f Bumblebees is shelf-warming. They stay there because few want to buy them. But I want to know which of these figures did not deserve this lowly status.

For example, Beast Wars Transmetals Scavenger. He is an ant, and I believe was supposed to be Inferno at one point. I have him. He's a pretty decent figure, about as tall as voyager class and, even with ball jointed insect legs, he has the ability to support his own weight in beast mode. I don't think he deserved his lot in life; keeping the shelf warm RTS Lugnut (who was the opposite of a shelf-warmer and was impossible to find).

Not that I'm bitter.

If anyone has a an "Underrated Shelf-Warmer", share your thoughts here!

Lol, when I saw this topic I was going to say Transmetal Inferno/Scavenger, but you beat me to the punch! I too, want that mold BADLY. It looks so good!\

I'd say Cybertron Mudflap didn't deserve the shelf. It looks like a pretty good mold, and one I wouldn't mind having.

Well at the moment my local TRU has had Masterpiece Thundercrackers for like ever. Will anyone buy them? I feel a clearance coming...

I just want a Skywarp. One bloody decent Skywarp! /off-topic

Prime Wheeljack pegwarmed for awhile beside PRiD Bee and Cliff (who both totally deserve to pegwarm!), but that was before he was in the show regularly.

I don't think Armada Smokescreen deserved to be a shelfwarmer at all. He looks decent enough for it's time.

(Puts on flame-retardant suit...) I think DOTM deluxe Bumblebee wasn't half-bad, honestly.

Of all the deluxe movie Bees, he's pretty much the most screen accurate version there is, short of the non-transforming DMK kit and the Revoltech figure. That said, his Mechtech weapons kinda sucks and he needed quite a bit of paint touch ups.

I tend to forget what the shelfwarmers were over here... But here goes:

ROTF Deluxe Mudflap: I never picked it up until TRU marked it down to $6 2 years later. It is actually a good figure!

DOTM deluxe Bee: Not half bad, but they produced too damn many of it. So they were asking for it.

Animated Oil Slick: I like him, I guess people are turned off by his ugly face.

Generations Thunderwing: It's a plane... and a robot. Why didn't it sell well? Probably because it was not realistic enough in plane mode, or robotic in bot mode.

What was that repaint of Poweglide from the generations/classics line ? I can't even remember his name  the black one. Anyways, great paint scheme, big solid robot, but he just sat there and watched the world go by

Storm Cloud, based on this little guy:

Though the jet mode would have suited Tailwind more

I have nothing to add about BW Transquito, Armada Smokescreen and Cybertron Mudflap... Yes, I own them all, the first as BWII Bigmos.

Well, in BWII the good guys were animals, the bad guys were vehicles or cyborg beasts. It's more out of necessity, really

The Bee swarm. What else? Every Bees are EXCELLENT figures. Unfortunately, when everyone and their neighbor have them, they wont take anymore. That how a good figure stay onm the pegs.

That was my local TrU in July 2012. Did I bought a bee that day? No, because I already had all 4, meaning DotM normal and Murder Bee, The FE one, and the PRID one. So no, not gonna buy duplicates. And I'm sure I wasnt alone.

Let's hope Hasbro have learned their lesson.

This is true. FE & RID BB are great figures, just overly produced!

I have NEVER EVER seen anything this bad. Maybe 1 or 2 immortal tuner Mudflaps but nothings this bad.

Thanks to stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Five Below, etc. I've come to pick up a lot of TF's at discounted prices that didn't do all that well in their initial run. I really like the Animated Voyager Seekers and some of the movie figures.

I don't own the figure myself, but Isn't the robot mode regarded as one of the most poseable for a deluxe class?

Off topic, awesomely creepy signature :APPLAUSE:

On topic, it may be too poseable, but I still like the figure.

Ok...I HAVE to see how Dark Steel's weapons work on that Bee. I forgot I had them, really. But I did pick that Bee up at the local Family Dolloar for $5 last month, and yet it was because of the red eyes and "harsher" paint job.

Anways...uh..I did mentally note that the tfwiki stated Animated Snarl(Slag) shelfwarmed in the UK. Don't see why. It's a solid trike figure, and the cheeto club is easy to detail properly.
