I'm complaining because I had plans to buy this. Because UT said it was voyager scale. I & some others already felt the $99 price for a non-combiner less complex Voyager was a bit high. As the Combiners voyager scale team members cost around $90

Now to find out UT is trying to push off a tall Deluxe, saying it's voyager then Charging $99 is more upsetting.

I've seen so many pics & videos of all the MP TF Car-bots,The ones released are 6.4 inches tall. they are on the small end size for a Voyager. They barely made the scale.

Blaster seems a pinch smaller than MP-Silverstream. So UT blaster is 6.3 inches tall.

That comparisions pics of UT Blaster scaled next to UT Salmoore. Salmoores head & chest are 3/4 inches shorter than UT blasters. So this makes Salmoore around 6.1 inches tall.

I disagree,Salmoore is not a very beefy voyager. as Salmoore has less bulk than UT Blaster & MP-Silverstreak.

I'd safely say UT Salmoore is 2.0 Cyclonus height. With the bulk of the more beefy deluxes like 2.0 Sideswipe & some more beefy AEC deluxes.

In closing,Yes being fooled by scale by UT does upset me. As I don't like paying $99 for a deluxe toy.

Had UT been truthful,Said it was a deluxe scale 3rd party toy. Then sold it at the current 3rd party deluxe prices of $64-$70. I would be less upset & more pleased.

...

Animated Blurr is taller than most figures, voyager or otherwise, but he's deluxe. FoC Shockwave is one of the smaller figures all ways round, but he's also deluxe. Then you have voyager Blackout, whs height is that of a standard deluxe.

Salmoore is just about as tall as an MP car. MP cars are voyager sized. Therefore, Salmoore is roughly voyager sized.

I don't think UT fooled you; you fooled yourself. You imagined this guy to be bigger or beefier than he was. But there should have been no surprise.

I just cancelled my Pre-order for Salmoore. Paying $99 for a 6.1 tall & thin robot mode is too much for me to pay.

For it's 6.1 inch height & width,I think is worth around $64 to $70.

The MP cars barely made the Voyager Scale. The bulk is not there. 6.4 inches tall barely qualified these as Voyagers scale.

Salmoore Has Less bulk & is a head shorter than MP Silverstreak. They are not the same height or bulk.

No,UT fooled on-line Retailers & it's buyers by telling them Salmoore was Voyager scale. It's not,It's deluxe scale. A 6.1 inch tall robot mode that is thin is not Voyager scale.

When I read the Voyager Scale word. I wasn't expecting Salmoore to barely make the scale by 0.1 inches. I wasn't expecting Salmoore to have the bulk of a deluxe sized HasTak toy.

Yeah, well, I guess we'll see once we have him in hand.

But ... certainly looks like voyager class to me. Or as much of a voyager class as an unofficial toy can ever be.

Well, I'm keeping my preorder. $100 isn't too much for me to pay for a Classics style Cykill and if they wanna do more of the Gobots and charge just as much, I'll buy those too :)!

I get what you're saying about size and all, but I guess I just don't see it the same way. I'm not pricing things out based on the weight/amount of plastic I'm getting, the complexity of the figure, or the height. I price them out based on their value to me in my collection, and for a Cykill, I'm willing to part with $100 to fill that gap.

Different people value things in different ways though, so I can understand based on what your previous impressions were why you might feel a bit deceived or cheated by UT on this one but it's possible that they aren't producing that many of them or something, which drives up the cost per figure since they have to recover the overhead of production and still make a profit. Or heck, maybe it just costs more to make this guy because of the complexity of the mold, the paint apps or the colors and/or types of plastics they used or something. Or maybe they just think they can get that much for him (and in my case, they're obviously right :P).

Anyway, maybe he'll go on clearance at some point and you can pick him up for cheaper if you're still interested in him at all at this size. He may not sell out since he's a Gobots homage and all.

I am finding my resistance...degrading. While I'd, maybe, like a more toon accurate alt mode, this really embraces the "Classics" treatment. And let's face it; Cykill's original alt mode really blows [CENSORED]

Knowing its closer to deluxe scale makes me want it even more. All my other gobot homages are deluxe or smaller, so cykill doesnt need to be huge.

The Robotech lover in me just cried. (Trivia: There was a model kit of Cykill that was actually a Cyclone. Leader-1 was an Alpha fighter. I remember seeing them at the Science Museum of Minnesota, but I never had the money to buy those model kits as a kid. I'm sure they cost a premium today, if they can be found...)

I actually had that Cy-Kill model kit as a kid. Sadly it's all blue plastic in the box, so you have to paint it to make it look like that and since I had no paints as a kid  .

Too bad I don't have it any more, or I'd paint it as I've become decent at painting with quite a bit of practice doing my own custom repaints and a bit of kitbashing here and there. I found one on ebay once but it was way expensive and I just didn't want something badly enough that was going to be such a massive project (it's a really big kit with a ton of parts+decals+paint etc.) but if a customizer pre-built and pre-painted one for me, I'd buy it for at least a few hundred bucks (hint-hint to any customizers reading this thread ;)).

Based on Salmoore's left hand (to our right) in the first pic, it looks like UT finally, finally figured out how to give figures a wrist swivel. That's encouraging.

I have vague recollections of the Go Bots, but I was never as into them as Transformers. Nevertheless, just looking at the vehicle and robot pics, you have to figure the engineering will be innovative. I might just have to jump on the Cy-Kill bandwagon. :D

This is supposed to be about a voyager size.

Do the wheels come off during transformation? Cy-kill is a robot that I would like to see more of in the IDW comics. Last we saw of him was in the gladiator pits with Megatron, right?

UniqueToys is churning out a lot of figures recently. But what happened to their Throttlebots?

Wow.

I'm glad I preordered this. He looks like a proper Cy-Kill in bot mode! If he wouldn't be so out of scale, I'd consider taking one of my many Starscreams and doing the Leader-1 replacement head I got with the classics coronation kit from a while back.

Im still on board, but im not liking the feet. I knew it was going to be asymmetrical, but I thought the color was going to hide it. The white foot is a real eyesore. Also a bit out of scale compared to other gobot homages we have gotten. Hopefully it grows on me....

don't care about the character enough for the price right now, but the toy looks great and I might consider it down the road or if I find myself with a bit of spare cash.
