He was the only CW Voyager they had and as mentioned in previous posts the swines tried to scam 29.99 from me but a quick point towards their own catalogue meant I got him for 22.99. Result!

Also I picked up Deluxe Blades from Smyths at the same place for 11.99. Passed on Rook, I'd rather use alpha bravo instead! All deluxes were 11.99 except First Aid weirdly who was 15.99?!? WTF?

You should get Rook he is an amazing Figure regardless if you combine him ore not

I picked up Rook almost purely for Hulk-Smash hands. But they were charging £15.99 for all deluxes. WTLack of Consistancy Smyths!?

A tfw2005 member has posted a photo of cw wave 4 legends rodimus and warpath he bought today in the Basingstoke Toys r us. Apparently they had Skywarp as well. If anyone spots them take a pic and tell Va'al so he can post it on seibertrons news thread!

A friend kindly took me to the Smyths Superstore in St. Helens today, first time I'd ever been to that store and didn't realise how big it was.

Anyways in terms of new Combiner wars, I didn't see any new wave 3 Deluxes, just wave 1 Aerialbots, a few windcharger and thundercracker legends.

They had an army of Roadbusters reduced to £16.99 and all the combiner wars voyagers were £16.99 also, they had Optimus's and silverbolts by the masses, but they also had two Cyclonus (of which I bought one) a store employee checked the shelves at the top for me but couldn't find any Hot Spot's so he'd all sold out. Doubt I'll be back in that store again for some time as it's not easy for me to get to so really hope that Hot Spot appears in other stores soon, some people on TFW2005 are saying he's been spotted in Toys R Us, I hope its true!

Smyths Toys, Glasgow have a couple of Cyclonus in! but no Hot Spot or any other Wave 3, so it looks like Cyclonus is going the Roadbuster route!(plentiful supply of that particular figure, meanwhile Hot Spot seems rather limited in supply at the moment).

They also have a Thrilling 30 Rhinox in.

Meanwhile...TRU, Govan, Glasgow have finally got Wave 3 Deluxes in! but sadly no Cyclonus or Hot Spot yet

So that's been yet another day wasted! in the pursuit of Hot Spot

Went to Middlesbrough today and checked the Entertainer. They've got the rest of the thrilling 30 voyagers in but at full price (they did have sandstorm in but still broke) they also had only wave 1 combiner wars stuff and the silver prime and grimlock set.

Exqueeze me? Did I miss a memo?

I was through in Falkirk today and had a quick look in Smyths there. I saw a massive section of TFs with much the same range and pricing as Lockdown91's visit to St. Helens although they did have W3 and W1 Combiner limbs. I was tempted to pick up the W1 jets again as I'm considering my first repaints in the aim of an all jet Superion without breaking the bank on Ebay but left them for the mo'. Probably regret that later.

Morning all.

Spent the weekend in Leeds and didn't manage to get to any shops :(

I did however, receive CW Ultra Magnus in the post. Bought him off a seller from the states on eBay, Paid £42 including postage (which was £12 of that) so I'm pretty pleased. Especially as if he ever does arrive over here he'll be £49.99 ish.

Anyway, he's really nice, the issues most people have with him (GAPS! Poor feet pose ability!) are there and he is REALLY light. But he looks really nice and I love the design, plus there are some pretty nifty transformation parts.

I think fundamentally though, having recently also got MP Magnus, there really isn't a comparison. Luckily they will never have to share a shelf. My only issue is whether to put him on the CW shelf or move my CHUG the Movie shelf so that his tallness can fit...

He's pretty good, but I think he varies with the QC.

The Moustache on mine is painted a bit wonky, and his backpack hinge is SUPER tight (to the point where it feels like putting sufficient pressure on it to move it will break the rather thin swing-arm it sits on), whereas his arm and hip joints are really loose, especially the arms, which love to pop off with minimal antagonism.

He's a fun little minicon though. Does what it says on the tin really.

My only criticism is that his sculpt and colouring seem based on the 'middle sized' minimus, whereas his actual size is closer in scale to the "irreducible me" sized minimus. But then I'm talking about scale in transformers, so please take one generous pinch of salt.

My Minimus also had a super tight back and there was a sphincter tightening moment when I first transformed him. But all was ok. My one's arms are pretty tight and are yet to pop off.

He sits nicely in Magnus' chest but in my opinion doesn't make a huge amount of difference in terms of the giant neck hole if he isn't there.

I dunno if I would pay £50 + for him though, but that is just me.

Guys Hot Spot is now available online on the Smyths Website.

https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toy ... -hot-spot/

I just ordered one and the total came up to £25.98 including delivery, I'm fine with the couple of £ extra as at least it means I will definitely get a Hot Spot. Was going to try looking this week for him in either Argos (where they'd have charged me £30) or possibly Toys R Us, this still works out cheaper ordering online as it would have cost me in travel money for only a slight chance he'd of even been there.

I finally made it out to the retail park, straight to Toys R Us, Voyager Cyclonus and Hotspot for all!!
They also had lots of both Leader Megatron and Armada Megatron, some Voyager Roadbusters and all of wave 1 Combiner Wars plus a Wingcharger too!

Hotspot was purchased for £22.99, now I am pleased.

Was on route to TRU when Hot Spot became listed as available at Smyths, turned round and headed there instead.

Four each of Hot Spot and Cyclonus on shelf, one less Hot Spot now.

Yay!

Same in Norwich: the shop that shares stock with Smyths (Langley's) has both Cyclonus and Hot Spot. They also had Streetwise and Blades. Might check in again for a Rook next week.

Nothing, not even the damn stickers I promised WL, around here. I'll try again tomorrow. Actually, I did get RID Jazz on Mrs O's insistence - just like Rook before him, the one I thought wasn't worth getting turns out to be my favourite.
