The problem with white on the new design.... it might look like a diaper ala Titanium Soundwave. Grey might be better in the long run.

my bad.. when i read that news story for some reason my mind tied those into the ratbat and ravage that we saw from BTS (i think i need some sleep, cause that makes no sense, i have no idea why i would think that lol)

i'm totally sold.

this is something that takara should've done a while ago. not to mention it's a mold they could get a repaint out of.. and add more cassettes to jock up the price a bit. oh well.

Repaint potential for the molds is very high.

Yeah, from those three molds, we can at least get:

Laserbeak Mold = Garboil, Sundor, SG Buzzsaw/Laserbeak
Ravage Mold = Stripes, Howlback, Glit, Blackcat, Cheetor, Tigatron, Catscan
Frenzy Mold = SG Frenzy/Rumble, Enemy, Playback, Whitenoise

Broken up into packs:

Normal Set - Ravage/Frenzy/Rumble/Buzzsaw
E-Hobby Set - Howlback/Glit/Garboil/Sundor
Shattered Glass Set - SG Buzzsaw/SGLaserbeak/SG Frenzy/SG Rumble
Heroes Set - Playback/Whitenoise/Catscan/Blackcat
Beast Set - Cheetor/Tigatron
Encore Set - Stripes/Enemy

That's just the tapes. Soundwave himself can be reprinted into Soundblaster, Marvel colour Soundwave, toy colour Soundwave and Shattered Glass Soundwave. My my my, the potential is amazing.

That is just fan speculation of course but I would buy all of them, assuming quality was good of course. Of course that is just the repaints based on the teased molds. There are the potentials for other molds based on Ratbat (repaint into Wingthing), Beastbox and squawktalk, Overkill and Slugfest. Throw in Shattered Glass repaints and the company could live off this mold for years. Very intelligent of Takara not to go down the Masterpiece Soundwave road

Got to admit, this is looking pretty awesome.

I agree, the potential here is enormous.

I think its clear fans are okay with redecos of Soundwave and his crew, I know I am.

This should have been done already, but I'm 100% in on anything they can come up with. I would love, LOVE revamped, better molds of the cassettes, especially Squawk talk, Beast Box and Overkill and Slugfest. I truly do commend BTS for their attempts, even though I know some people are complaining about Ravage and Ratbat (I think they look quite good though and already pre-ordered them).

There's a lot to be done in the realm of G1 revisits, even for Tak/Has. If they're redoing the Combaticons, why not the Protectobots?

I like elements of both though. The newer more detailed one is a respectful highly detailed "classics" style upgrade while the earlier version is almost 100% G1.

Either way....i like em both. Now lets get this thing produced already!! Soundwave should have been done a long time ago.
