********************* UPDATE 11/1/12 *********************
So yesterday, I ended up getting a whole lot more than expected. I had recently purchased classics Grimlock from user AdamFett (good seller!) and was expecting that along with some Hasbro and TFsource packages. What I did NOT expect was a box that came from none other than Joe Sullivan! What? You mean he has made good on his deal? To be honest, I was afraid it may have been a box with rocks or a letter that said F you, but no... In the box included: Henkei Grimlock, Classics Starscream, Thundercracker, and BONUS, Acid Storm. Along with a note. He apologized for having not delivered sooner and his lack of communication. He stated he had some things come up in his personal life and that he hoped he could make good on his mistakes...
I understand things come up in people's personal lives that may prevent you from shipping immediately, or not being able to communicate as often. The problem in all this stemmed from lack of ANY communication, especially after cashing my check. An email saying "Hey, I got your check... but to be honest, I'm in a bind with personal matters and I intend to ship ASAP, we'll keep in touch" would have been somewhat adequate. Sure, I may have been a bit annoyed, but at least I will have some info as to why I hadn't received my toys. Instead, it was dead silence. He hadn't been without a computer as I'd seen his activity log was recent, so a PM could have happened.
That said, he eventually made good, and even threw in an extra figure as a sorry. Yes, I am the forgiving type (so I forgive you, Joe), but understand how your actions effect others and learn from it. Figuring I'd never get a classics Grim from this seller, I bought from another. Here's the funny thing. "The Arc" stated he had a classics Grimlock, but he actually sent me a Henkei one, and the other seller sent me the correct one. So I do have two Grimlocks, but at least they are different versions. Happy accident I guess.
Did he finally do the right thing because I began taking action against him? Don't know. The Arc's personal matters are his own. I will not buy from him again, at least not unless he ships first. I would still be wary about anyone else buying from someone who has their personal life interfering with business, but at least he did the right thing in the end.
********************* END UPDATE *********************
Hey guys, I hate to pull the old call out thread, but I have been scammed.
The user "The Arc" from here at Seibertron.com promised to ship a Classics Starscream, Thundercracker, and Grimlock for $55 and failed to send the items as promised. I have tried to establish contact with him several times the past week and have been continually ignored. He was last active as of Tuesday (Oct 16th). He had read some of my PMs asking about shipment but continued to ignore me once he cashed my check. To my own poor sense of trust, I agreed to a cashier's check instead of using Paypal at his request. I did check his feedback and history and he appeared to be legitimate, but I was wrong. I gave him fair warning before posting this information in an attempt to not jump to conclusions, but at this point, I have no other choice.
The name he gave me is Joe Sullivan from Revere, MA.
This is not a thread to debate how I handled the transaction, I'll be the first to admit I was swindled due to my naivety, but I did attempt to make precautions, however futile. This thread is to warn others about this user and and discuss similar experiences.
I have begun the process of notifying my bank and an investigation will be opened on Monday, followed by a police report once the investigation is complete. I will also be reporting him for mail fraud. I am going to do everything in my power to bring justice to the situation.
