You have to wonder how much if any of his transformation was sacrificed for that armor's functionality. I feel they could have done a better job, especially were the chest is concerned. I'm still going to get him to put me 1 step closer to cast completion. just 6 to go...

You know, I really view the armor as the second thought on this figure, same as Shockwave. I mean, faux parts is not a new concept, and his robot mode looks phenomenal. And with the armor being that soft, it doesn't look like the car is missing anything without it.

Have zero interest in arm micron, stickers and micron junk. Beast Hunter figure wins. Glad I didn't pay import prices.

This did not change anything for me, I still want this figure and it still looks incredible. Although, I was kind of hoping he'd compare Smokescreen with the rest of Team Prime.

Oh well. :-(

Me either. But not because I dislike the AM figs, it's just price really. If I can't get something from the North American line, however, then I will import stuff. Smokescreen looks awesome, a million times better then the AM redeco. I wish his chest area wasn't so flat though.

This review definitely helped put my worries to rest. I will be going for this version over the AM one. Honestly, he's pretty much everything I expected/hoped for from the photos we've seen here in the recent past. I noticed that BBTS has the deluxe wave 2 set instock now, so hopefully these guys will be showing up in retail very soon. I have had no problems finding any of the deluxe wave 1 and I'm crossing my fingers that this is true for BH Smokescreen and his wavemates!

Nothing new from Takara on this line yet as far as actual pics? I really want to see Takara's spin on this one! :VEHI:

He may have got it from a legit source. BBTS is already filling preorders for Smokescreen.

I'm surprised how much people seem to be liking this toy. I'm glad others like it and I hope they really enjoy it; but that kibble is killing it for me. Two layers of kibble just hanging off the back of his arms. And I just don't think the bot mode looks very good. Anyone else feeling that way?

At this point, I don't care that the transformation cheats on the chest.

This looks awesome.

Great looking toy (minus the battle armor)

I see potential for customizers - jazz, wheeljack, deadend, sideswipe..

I really hate that fake-hood chest. For that reason alone, I like the AM version better.

Yes and no. I am happy I'm not alone on my thoughts for this figure :D I don't understand how this is any better in terms of portraying smokescreen. Neither does the job really. AM Smokescreen is missing the door wings, and the shoulder armour, and is marred simply by being a re-tool. This one is a giant cheat, with the entire car hood hanging off his arms-if anyone can see that on the cgi model do put me straight >:oP

I do however think it looks a decent figure, nice car bot, and if I see it in stores I will buy it. Just not Smokescreen, and still not deserved of it's praise I think. A show accurate smokescreen without this level of cheat and kibble is possible, so why herald something that hasn't tried? I'm not that fussed, I'm not getting nerd ragey myself over either, I just don't know why everyone who wanted 'a perfect Smokescreen' seems happy to say this is it :HEADHURTS:

Only complaints are the non-show accurate colors, but I like it.

Great review!

BH Smokescreen looks like a solid figure, easy for me to pick up when I see him.

To those not interested in the Arms Micron Smokescreen, you can always leave the stickers off and repaint him into Prowl! :D

I really like this figure! Kudos to Hasbro for making the armor and net removable.

This is a much more show accurate figure than the AM version IMO. I never liked the Knockout mold, which is (once again IMO) only beaten in the ugliness department by the Airachnid mold.

One thing about the armor and net: remove them as soon as humanly possible and store them somewhere far away from the figure! Rubber and plastic are a terrible combination and much grief will occur if the the armor is left in contact with the figure.

If you need proof, go dig up your older Megabloks sets such as Blok Bots and Future Force. If you stored the pieces loose in a box, be prepared to find popcorn ball-like clusters of bricks melted and stuck to any rubber parts in the box such as tires and hoses. If you left the sets assembled, the damage will be much less widespread, but it will be there all the same. Rubber kills!

IMO shininess loses to ACTUALLY LOOKING LIKE THE CHARACTER.

Looks to me like they designed this for season 2 but didn't use it, then added the armour. In robot mode the armour is more like an arbour.

I like shiney. But the Beast version is better. Maybe reprolabels will make a shiney set of stickers to go over the existing paint apps.

I've liked him since I first saw his pictures and this review just emphasizes just how cool he is. There really is no contest, BH Smokescreen is just so much better than his AM counterpart.

Is he a little shorter than the Arms Micron figure in robot mode??? :???: If anything he looked a little taller.

There's some quite serious cheating going on with this new figure, but that's kind of par for the course with PRIME and when the end result looks that good I won't complain too much.

Seeing this review has added weight to the idea that I may not get any of the Beast Hunter versions of returning characters (except Smokescreen and maybe Optimus and Magnus). Most of them have significant differences between their standard PRIME and Beast Hunters appearances, but that rubber wreath of Smokescreen's makes almost no difference. Then again I suppose Rhinox, Waspinator and Inferno went the whole of Beast Wars in the same body while everyone else upgraded once or twice. May just get the ones I like i.e. not Beast Hunters Ratchet.
