Um, technically speaking, Vangelus' reviews are more "professional" because he writes scrips, does extensive editing, adds effects and such. I don't mean to bash on the other reviewers like Peaugh or Optibotimus, but really they just put the figure in frame and then talk about it as they transform it. It's simple, it's effective, it gets the point across and it does what it needs to, but Vangelus goes that extra little bit to make the review, not JUST informative, but entertaining as well. Of course he skips over things like transformation, details and such, but expect every reviewer to do everything the same. That would be boring.

Personally, I'm subscribed to Peaugh, Emgo, Thew, Vangelus, AND Optibotimus because there's some things I like about all of their reviews and some things I hate (like Emgo's "visible head syndrome" thing, I hate that), but they're not all going to review the same things, and if they do then they all have a different take on it.

EDIT

Oh yeah, and I love this Grimlock figure, looks good, orange bot, yay. ;)

Scorn looks like a great character in his own right. If my customizing skills were up to scratch I'd buy a few and paint one up in Energon Cruellock colours.

Also, I'm not getting the Vangelus hate. Peaugh gives very thorough, in-depth reviews, but they seem a bit too clinical and dull for my liking. Optibotimus does good reviews too, and I've found does a great job with comparisons and making up my mind what to buy, but I find he waffles on and reiterates the same points over and over a it too much. Vangelus is unique in that he manages to make his reviews genuinely entertaining whilst still remaining informative, and also gets a point across without an hour-long review. Generally speaking I'll only watch Peaugh and Optibotimus reviews to get an idea of how good a figure is, whereas I tend to watch Vangelus reviews over and over for the heck of it. I dunno, i like his goofiness. You can't be dead serious about everything after all.

Of course, we all know the best reviewer is in fact Thew.

I agree with pretty much all of this. I used to watch a lot of Optibotimus reviews but his fixed style and yes, actual repetition actually really does sometimes actually kinda get to me sometimes kinda. I've never been a huge fan of Peaugh's reviews, I just don't often find them that entertaining. I do find them informative though and will usually check both those guys and Baltmatrix if I'm interested in getting a bot. Especially if it's a pricey 3rd party item. I've watched a bunch of Vangelus reviews for stuff I've had no interest in at all because he's entertaining, and sure, maybe not as straight "step-by-step" as some others, but he clearly has passion for what he's reviewing and will give honest opinions.

I watch Thew's Reviews because he's the best. Seriously, can we start a kickstarter to fund him reviewing full-time?

The review is what it is to whoever watches it. To some it's good, to others it's not. Your style is successful depending on if it can fit well with your viewers. I'll never apologize for my style. I do repeat things often. I know that, but it's simply just me talking. I don't script things such as Vangelus does. I give him credit for that. But i like talking on camera as if i'm talking to someone in person. That's my style. It's also something i take pride in when someone comes up to me at a convention, talks to me and says that it's cool that i sound just like i do in my videos. I also know that i say several things, like words, often in videos. That comes with me not scripting things. It's not my style. I apologize for that. But there are a ton of reviewers out there. So if you don't like one persons style, you have a lot of other options. Sometimes you have to wait longer to see a review on a particular figure by the reviewer you prefer. But that's just the nature of things. That being said, i'm always grateful for the support that i've gotten over the years. Both from viewers, community members and sites like Seibertron. There are always bad apples in the bunch, but i try not to let those that are few and far between ruin it for everything as a whole. So thank you for the votes of confidence guys. My reviews of some deluxe figures from AOE should be up next week. I've had a hard time finding Canadian folks that can pick me up the figures.

Dude don't apologise for your style! As you've said, it's clearly how you naturally talk and that natural, honest approach is a good thing.

Hey, I didn't know you posted on Seibertron! Hello!

Out of interest, do you know if/when there are any more of the 3rd-party FOC Dinobots coming out?

I've been on here for a long time. I don't post a lot though. I'm not really someone that gets a lot of 3rd party knowledge.

"Technically speaking", i think that since i'm the only of the 3 that is listed as a business to the US government and has made my job out of reviewing figures....that makes me the professional LOL

In all seriousness though, i don't think it's fair to say anyone, based on the work they do, is more professional than another. I could easily script my stuff, but i choose not to. He has a very nice production value. But i don't think that makes him more professional than others. They're conflicting styles. Looking at views and subscribers, one could make the case i'm more successful than he is. Does that make me more professional? I don't think it does. If anything, me working on my videos 5-6 days a week, usually from 9am (sometimes 10am if i sleep in) to 4-5pm would make it more of a job for me as i said already. I suppose it's a matter of perspective. I don't consider myself a professional at all, but this is how i earn my living and support my family. Does someone that work at McDonalds consider themselves a professional because they have a job? I don't know if they do. But i wouldn't judge someone on being professional based on simply a style that you might prefer. Just my opinion though.

From Allanmonster111, here's the review for Crosshairs. So many weapons, and thankfully the last pic I saw of him was mistransformed!

Somewhat simplistic, but not bad at all, and it's articulated nicely!

Thanks for the review! I am still on the fence about a lot of these guys so far to be honest.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
No, I am not friendly online or in real life.
I look forward to attending a Botcon only to settle matters with idiots in person.

not sure about crosshairs. the vehicle mode is fine, nowt special, it's a car. bot mode might be ok. will wait for a clearer review, but I like that he has gun options.

Thanks so much for posting the review. I had no idea this guy was a shell former. I thought just the paint scheme on this guy was bad, but that back kibble/inability of roof/hood to fold in on itself is unforgivable in this day and age of figure design. I might pick up the Dinobots, but if I do it in haste like I did with Bruticus then all will end up at Gooodwill around Christmas time. The hobby has become too expensive and distribution in my area (Central Illinois) gets worse every year.

Just how bad is the distribution?...this bad!!

1) The only consistent figures coming in are TRU exclusives. The newer Generations figs are non-existent.

2) I went into a local Kmart yesterday and there was no Transformer section anymore...Star Wars and Captain America crap had taken over the peg space.

3) Target remains full of Beast Hunters Crap and old Generations Voyagers.

4) Walmarts here are also a joke as the only thing on the shelves at Walmart are Construct Bots and maybe a Blaster/Springer/Blitzwing located half way down the aisle laying on some other crap toys.

5) There are few if any items on clearance right now other than at TRU.

6) All stores in my area have raised their prices with no new product in site to justify the price increase. Nothing is shipping...so why the price increase?

7) I hate to say this...but I have had better luck getting stuff from Hasbrotoyshop.com than anywhere else when it comes to anything outside Masterpiece.

Now that I see this new Crosshairs toy, it's ridiculous. It has bad weapon storage, and his design is on one side of the car instead of the other (I'm surprised that the One-Step Changers had this right). Why is this toy made this way? Carelessness on an awesome looking character is not what we Transformers fans don't want on a toy. :BANG_HEAD: Intolerable...unacceptable...inappropriate...and objectionable are the words that I can describe this toy. I rather get a K.O. toy than the official toy.

To everyone that is complaining about crosshairs, the kibble is meant to be like that. He is designed to have a trenchcoat and the hood and headlights hanging off his back is designed to mimic that look. :michaelbay:

I don't think that the kibble is what everybody is talking about (we all know about the trenchcoat). I think the vehicle mode and the weapon storage is just weird. I'll probably get him anyway. I like toys.

That's an over simplified version. Yes...it's because of the ads. It is a lot more detailed than just a "fraction of a penny" however for some of us. That might work for someone with not a lot of views, but someone that gets a substantial viewership, it's a much higher CPM (cost per thousand views). It works very similar to how TV ads are. The more views you get on something, the higher an advertiser will pay to have their ads placed on your videos. Which in turn, results in higher payouts. But that isn't the only thing that you get paid from. You also get a much higher pay out if someone clicks on those ads.

Good news everyone! There's now an alternative to this blurry, out of focus, and all to brief review! Better angles, more detail, and size comparisons all included! And I know how EVERYONE here loves...

VANGELUS! \o/

Really though, he gives a better look at Crosshairs. Just watch it on mute or something if you don't like the guy.

Thanks for the review. I love the car mode but not the bot at all. Why in the world could Hasbro not figure out a way to lock in the mid section of the figure and or not give him ridiculous feet as in years past. This really reminds me of earlier Bumblebees with the auto morph legs coming pretty much standard anymore. The weapon is also a complete joke. I like the matte finish black paint over the yellow, but just like the reviewer said the paint will likely rub off with multiple transformations. This is a mighty pass for me. I would love to see and ultimate Bumblebee in this mold with better attention to detail...that I would consider buying to put along side my other ultimate Bumblebee.

I actually quite like the look of Crosshairs. The idea of a robot in a trenchcoat is gloriously silly, and I think he pulls it off fairly well for a figure made on a relatively small budget. The car mode is perfectly adequate (I'm fond of the asymmetrical pattern) and the robot mode is actually fairly decent, lack of paint aside (which is easily fixable). My biggest gripe is that those rubber tabs look like they could tear off easily. Still, I applaud them for trying something so different, and aside from a few quibbles with the trenchcoat (and let's be honest, the fact they even tried a robo trenchcoat forgives that) the robot mode is pretty cool too.

Of course, I don't segregate my TFs into separate collections, following the Insecticomics approach to canon (completely ignoring it) so he'll make an excellent detective bot to hang out with my other Autobots.

Also, I can forsee a lot of fun with those 5mm weapons. Especially those pistols.
