New Here ... Sort of ...

Hey, everyone. The name's Bill9000. I used to be a regular poser here at the Energon Pub years ago, but life kinda got in the way (as life does). I've been a Transformers fan ever since they first came on the scene way back in 1984, and I'm still a huge Generation 1 fan to this day (although I have a healthy appreciation for Beast Wars, too). I've sort of taken it upon myself in what little spare time I have to start compiling what I like to call the Encyclopedia Cybertronia. This is sort of my own take on Marvel's Transformers Universe and Dreamwave's More Than Meets the Eye series. I'm trying to use images of the box art for each character just like in the original tech specs, plus their stats and write-ups that are sort of a melding of information from Marvel, Dreamwave, and the the original text from the tech specs themselves. I'm a bit rusty at posting images here, so I hope this works. Here's what the original Optimus Prime's page will look like. Eventually, I'd like to make this PDF accessible to everyone here. But I may need a little help from time to time with obtaining the box art for some characters, so I hope some people here might be good enough to donate any images that they may have of the box art until I get my hands on a copy of the Transformers Legacy book.

Anyway, glad to be here and make your acquaintance.

Hi, Long time lurker.. first time poster..

Got into G1 waaaaaaay back when I was a young'un and have dipped in and out since.
I bought a Masterpiece MP-01 Convoy when it was first released back in 2003.. and he has been stood on my shelf ever since

Recently decided to allow my inner child to resurface, and have started collecting again.

I currently own:

Takara Masterpiece MP-01 (missing the head cover since a move a few years ago)
Mega Steel MS-03 Buster (Blaster)
2x Universe Drag Strip (found at a car boot sale, 1 still in box)
G1 Ultra Magnus
Combiner Wars Armada Megatron
Combiner Wars Rook
Combiner Wars First Aid
Combiner Wars Streetwise
Combiner Wars Hot Spot
Combiner Wars Groove
Combiner Wars Blades
Generations Roadbuster
Generations Jetfire

Looking forward to collecting more :)

Hey sorry, didn't see that someone answered
I got the "normal" version without weapons. It's really great and really big, but imo it should have been made in a darker green (like on the packaging for example).

Yo! How's it goin'? Are you considering getting into any other line? Like Combiner Wars, or are you going to stick to mp's - with the way the line is progressing, it could easily become a full time hobby...

Hope to see you 'round the thread's :CON:

Hello all! And for the real old-timers who might recognise me... hello again! ;) I used to be around a lot way back when, when HMW first started up. Had one of the highest-level HMW Autobot teams, and I have fond memories of being good rivals with the Freak Show (Hi Burn! :D). Alas, since I haven't been around since about 2008, my old HMW team seems to have disappeared. Time to start fresh! I have a lot of catching up to do. XD

Hello, first post here!
I've looked around alot lately for where to start collecting, as i have no idea where to start, since theres so much cool ones around.
I really want to start with the MP-10 Optimus Prime, probably the 2nd run ko, but not sure where to buy one, or what to search. I've found this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-TAKARA-TOMY ... SwcBhWW1lq
Is that the same version? No idea what the KO costs around ebay, as the price seems to vary alot, but this one seemed really cheap.

It doesnt really matters with which generation it is from for me, but for Optimus id probably want the g1 based MP, i guess im going for the MP line in the long run, but seeing the price i guess some will be reissues/g1 :D

Welcome, 8bitpirate! You have asked one of the magical questions on where to start collecting. My advice on MP-10 is, first get it! (Many have suggested it to me as well, though I do not own him yet.) The ebay link you used does seem to be a bit cheap for a legit Takara MP-10. I'd try asking the question in the Unlicensed and KO Transformers Forum. There are some very knowledgeable members of Seibertron community that could probably help.

My other suggestion, as far as collecting goes, is to go after what you think is cool, for the price you'd like to pay. There is so much cool TF stuff that has come out over the last decade or so that the choices are numerous. Seibertron's galleries can also help showcase many transformers from over the years. (Truth be told that Seibs got me back into collecting Transformers back when the first Classics were coming out. His Botcon pics of Ironhide eventually led me to pick up Energon Towline.)

Again, welcome!! :D

Hey, everyone I am kind of new here. I originally got into The Transformers from the live-action movies, but since then I have learned more about transformers history and how it all started and I eventually I began to,and still do, like Generation 1 way more(especially the characters).

I have posted some stuff before if you want to check it out that would be great, if not doesn't matter.

Good on ya; I would've said to try and collect the aerialbots as they are still shelfwarming at various locales 'round the net, but the protectobots are great too.
