The BBC have revealed that Michelle Gomez will be reprising her role as Missy in the two-part premiere of the next series of Doctor Who, entitled The Magician's Apprentice, and The Witch's Familiar.

I was hoping that the who team may have made a special for comic relief, but looks like it was misplaced faith. :(

Guest star for next season just announced.

I wouldn't object to her replacing Clara.

Huh, never scene Game of Thrones, so this'll be a surprise.

Two more episode titles confirmed:

The Girl Who Died
The Woman Who Lived

This does not bode well for Clara.

Im hoping this is claras last season I really am. I was thinking myself through the last few seasons and then remembered that I still hadn't seen the Xmas special but here is the thing, I'm not bothered. I want to see more of this doctor but I'm done with her. I want to see something new with assistants, more regular male assistants who are good characters (Rory made me realise that people like that do have a place) and female assistants who aren't there to provide romantic foil for the doctor or to be there just to be another doctor (Donna springs to mind of another assistant that made a good place for herself)

I really don't know if I'm looking forward to this season or not

So speculation is rife that she may turn out to be Susan (aka the doctors granddaughter) me? I'm not too convinced as thus show has thrown us curveballs before. Guess we'll know closer to the time

I suppose it's possible for her to be Susan, though "you" doesn't seem like the sort of reaction you'd give to your long lost granddaughter!

So as Time Ladies go, that just leaves The Rani (a "you" reaction would make sense) or Romana ("you" reaction maybe)

I could believe it being the rani but then again I thought at one point that missy was the rani and I was wrong there. Of course it could be missy regeneration. ..

Series 9

The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) is joined by Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) for time travel on a cinematic scale. Having the time of their lives, the pair meet new and old monsters, and go on a journey that takes them to deadly alien planets, creepy underwater bases, Vikings villages, a global Zygon uprising, and leads them through hidden alien dens, to the very end of time itself.

Meeting monsters old and new the Doctor will come face to face with Missy (Michelle Gomez), a city of Daleks, deadly mercenaries called the Mire, terrifying ghosts and more

Okay well, the Zygon thing makes sense, remember, when we last saw the Zygons, they had no memory of themselves, maybe the Doctor's forgot to undo their mind erase they put on everybody and the Zygons have, per se, gone local?

And the end of time itself, looks like we're going back to utopia boys.

Overall, looks cool, hope there are some winners in this one. And all my suggestions have been taken for who Williams is portraying, but I still wonder, considering the title of the second episode, is she the Mistress' companion?

What's the name of the second episode like? Though I wonder what the point of going back to utopia would be...

Instead of being missys regeneration, maybe the master is back in the body snatching business, since we still don't know how he came back last time from when he was fighting with Rassilon

It was The Witch's Familiar, being the later part of a two parter, with the first being called The Magician's Apprentice. Missy is confirmed to be in these episodes, and I'm guessing that the "Magician" is the Doctor, as he compared himself to one in appearance. Also, curiously enough, we see the Doctor playing a rock guitar in this trailer, should be interesting, with such a button-up Doctor doing something so...un-Doctorish

Last season he got into a sword fight using a spoon. Playing guitar is a step towards normal.

Ahhh my god, what the hell's going on here? you know what don't bother answering that; just answer this instead. I hated everything about the 11th doctor and Matt smith, is peter capaldi any better?

There was just like two aspects really off putting I can't name, but they really came out in the The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe. I think it was how insufferably young and smug he was, and the fact everyone treated him like he was greatest thing evers, even though he was actually kind of a douche. And yes I know the doctor's always been a a self gratifying old codger but that's the thing, it kinda made sense when he was at least over 30, and the old doctors usually had their priorities straight, save the world, be a smug jackass, maybe be swatted down a bit. Matt smith's doctor always came as: be a jackass, save the world, get a solid gold statue, mope, be jack ass. Oh and also all the forced whimsy, and the whole he's and angel/god thing, which yes I know that was part of tennate's run, but the smug levels were multiplied by 10 with Matt smith. So yeah I didn't like matt smith's run very irrationally.

He's...not bad. I liked Matt Smith, he was a goofball but I loved him. Capaldi is a lot colder then previous Doctors, think 10's intensity plus 1's grumpy old man plus 6's raging ego and grating personality. This Doctor is a good man, but he's not a warm man. And he complains, a lot, like it gets annoying.

I like this doctor already, I like my doctors like my Grunkle Stan, an old codger.

Don't listen to anyone else.

Watch a couple of episodes for yourself and decide.

Well then you'll be pleased to know 11 spent most of his last season being at least 1200 years old. ("Unless I'm lying. That's how old I am, I don't know if I'm lying about my age anymore.")

oooh you so funny. I should've clarified I meant the actor, doho doho. I am being self deprecating right now.

I think her eyes are to far apart so she looks like that girl from the old Playstation Adverts.... it's not as noticeable in the trailers...

But it's a very visually disturbing trait it makes people look inhuman.

That's a kind of blunt way to look at it. If we treated all actors in Doctor Who like that we probably would have a 4th or 11th Doctor. ;) I admit that, should she be a new companion, she isn't as cute as the previous two, but look what we got with Catherine Tate's role in Doctor Who. Anyways, I think she look quirky, and will fit into the Doctor Who universe well. :D
