You know, I love building lego sets, especially the huge intricate ones...but I'd have nowhere to put it, and I'd never touch it again after I built it. But I want to build it so bad  !

And to think. If MegaBloks made it, it would cost $200 and have a hundred more pieces in it.

I really hate LEGO with their overcharging bullshit. Each of these probably costs $20 to make and they're marking it up literally 25 times it's value.

Don't get me wrong it's gorgeous looking but Jesus they need to rethink their prices.

Wow. That is one fine ass piece of Lego.

Too bad they've apparently taken a page out of the "Transformers Marketing" book: overcharging just for the hell of it.

Now don't get me wrong. I can see that it deserves a hefty price tag, but who in their right mind is going to shell out seven hundred dollars for this thing?

So.......

$500.00
------
5000 pieces = $0.10 per Lego piece

That is insane.

But at least shipping is free

I'm gonna pay it. Unless this relationship with a real woman I'm working on takes off, and I become one of those guys who arn't allowed to do anything cool. You know, non-single guys.

If you do it you need to take pics as you build it and keep track of how long it takes you. You just better hope it is not one of those puzzles that is missing a piece :P

Well, when I got the Imperial Star Destroyer, I had to work on it at night during a work week. Took me something like five days to get it built. When I took it apart and rebuilt in on a vacation, I did it in one day, but spent damn near the whole day on it. Figure it'd take me two weeks, or two days to put the Falcon together once I get it.

Later next week, I'll be buying the Y-Wing Star Fighter or maybe Vader's TIE Fighter. I want them both, but haven't decided which to get first. Then of course, there is the Death Star II to eventually buy. Not so hot on this one, but I do still like the idea of it.

Yep. Although, I think you can still find it in stores so I'm not sure why that one's going for $150.

Looks gorgeous, as the larger sets often are, but it's too damn big and expensive for me. Heck, I wanted the Star Detroyer more, and now they've got a smaller (and cheaper) version of that too.

US$ and CAN$ aren't that different are they?

It's about a 12% percent markup from US to Canadian prices on most stuff.

I want this sooooo badly. It would be the best coffee table conversation piece.....Because it's as large as my coffee table.
