Has anyone figured out what the problem is with the new message markers? I've been having problems with this for weeks, and having all new message notifications disappear as soon as I move into a forum has made it next to impossible for me to keep track of the threads on here.

Did you enable e-mail notification? Mine got turned off and I had turn it back on again.

Actually, I don't think he is referring to the email notifications. He means the issue that the white boxes aren't changing yellow next to the thread titles to signify new posts.

Yeah, you're exactly right. Those little tags help me keep track, and without them, I can't figure out what's new in the topics I'm trying to follow. Since this problem started, I've all but quit visiting the boards because it gets too frustrating.

That's why I was hoping there was some news on that problem.

Clicking the links to the forums in my Email Reply Notifications load indefinitely and get me nowhere. I have to track the thread down by browsing the boards myself. Major inconvenience.

EDIT: Boom, found the answer.
The latest update to the Download Status Bar addon for Firefox caused this problem. I uninstalled it and everything seems to be working fine now. Damn, that was weird, though.

And sorry for the trouble, Nightwatcher.

When I entered the forum's main page, it said I was logged out.

"Oh no!" I thought to myself. "Have I been banned again?"

Clicking the Login link, I was taken to my profile page, ending such paranoia.

Returning to the Forum Index, I found I was still logged out. I logged out of my profile, then logged back into my account in the Forum Index. It seems okay now.

Actually that was just me screwing with you and seeing if you would post about it in here.

I can't edit my profile. The 'save account' button does nothing.

I can't tell if you're kidding or not.

Either way, good game, Sir Nightwatcher of Muffington. Good game indeed.

Sometimes when I try to edit my posts, it says "You cannot post again so soon after making a post." Or something like that. I think it thinks I'm trying to double post.

Make the edit and wait a little while longer before posting it. 10 seconds usually does it for me.

Okay, it's just the avatar control that buggers it.

Why is it, that this site, beyond the scope of any other I visit, gets a page error after trying to post something?

Seriously, is there something that causes this? Everyone knows how infuriating it is to loose a post after spending a couple moments writing it. For whatever reason, it's been happening a lot to me here. Not just on one particular computer either.

:edit, it happened again as I tried to post this:

Hmm. Lemme try it out.

Edit. Worked fine for me. Honestly recently the site has been working the best and fastest it ever had for me. Maybe something with your browser?

Is there any word on when the "New Posts" indicator is going to be fixed?

Because it'd be nice to go from sub-forum to sub-forum and know which threads have the new posts. And I know this has actually put a couple of people off posting.
