Nothing happened for me, I suggest doing a scan on your system.

I confirm. It may also depend on the browser used or something.

It doesn't occur EVERY time I visit the same page. It's a spontaneous occurrence, and has only happened two or three times so far.

It may be some hidden spyware. Try installing a second spyware detection program and run another scan. Often, Spyhunter program X will not see everything, but Y will see what X have missed. And vice-versa.

If you hadn't already, try AD-AWARE The free version is quite powerful and hunt spywares without mercy.

A great anti-virus is AVAST. The free version is not cheap at all, is extremely effective, and it won't slow down your computer. It's been years since I started using it.

So, for me, Avast as the main anti-virus and Ad Aware as a back-up work very well. Try one, or try both. You may find a few nasty creepy crawlers that you missed before.

This has happened to me too, on multiple computers at multiple sites. I figured it was a script in some of the Google ads. I have been running multiple Malware scanners, including one I highly favor, Malwarebytes, and all is clean at this time. It is very intermittent.

It only seems to happen on Google Chrome for me. I'm considering switching to Firefox for some of the script blocking...

Been using Mozilla Firefox and I also kept getting redirected to these other web sites mentioned here. Think the Spyware or adware might have nested itself inside the browser cache or cookies.

Might I make a suggestion that so far worked for me. Try deleting the Browser your using from your uninstall computer programs section. Click restart, Then after the computer starts back up, go to a site and reinstall the browser again.

Update: Mystery solved! Looks like this was, indeed, something wrong with the Google AdSense. Is that what you were/are using, Ryan?

I saw something similar to it happen for me on a different site than this one, but instead of redirecting to a variety of advertisement websites, it would instead keep redirecting to the same place.

But instead of being another advertising website, it was this time a software site claiming that my Google Chrome browser software was not fully up-to-date, and insisted that I click its link immediately to upgrade to the latest software versions.

I refused to do so each time, however, and simply uninstalled and re-installed Google Chrome, which seems to have fixed the issue on my end.

Indeed, it appears that Google has patched the Chrome browser recently. Since I updated, the redirect isn't happening anymore.

I recommend if anyone sees such a message about the browser being out of date or gets redirected to an advertising site that you kill the browser in the task manager and then run the update from the About Google Chrome menu option in the tools menu. Or uninstalling and re-installing should also solve the issue.

Thanks, Sabrblade!

Not "problem" persay, but is there a way to turn off the auto-subscribe whenever you reply to a thread? I see how to do it on my profile for each thread, but I want to default to not subscribing with every post without going into the full editor each time. Thanks

Yes there is. In the "User Control Panel" go to:

Board Preferences ==> Edit Posting Defaults

Then go to "Notify me upon replies by default:" and select "No"

Though, getting all that Seibertron mail makes me feel special :x 'cause no one else sends me any....

Hope this is the right spot for this. In an effort to be a team player, and in regards to sightings, I have been trying to update Store locations in my area(Omaha, Nebraska), but my submissions are going unnoticed and/or unchanged. When I first joined I was told by an admin that the site had a problem communicating with Outlook/Hotmail. Could this be the issue?
Before I joined I used the sightings section for years. It has always been helpful. Just want to give back.

Thanks C-tron

I've noticed a few issues here and there too. My work around is to unsubscribe and resubscribe to the thread. This has fixed it for me. It might fix it for you too, if you want to try...

I just approved two of your stores that were submitted a while back. Did I miss another one or did I get both of the ones that you had submitted? Sorry for the delay ... sometimes I forget to go back and approve a store someone submitted if I get the email at an odd time.

HEY! Thanks boss!
I think I only submitted two, or tried the same one twice. Biggest thing was a Target that was listed had closed and moved to a new location. If you feel like removing the closed Target, it was on Saddle Creek Rd. in Omaha NE.

The buttons "Mark topics read" and "Mark subforums read" don't seem to work for me. "Mark forums read" on the home page works fine, though.

Excuse the double post, but no one seems to have openly taken interest in the issue.

Did some testing, turns out something called the "hash" variable is not present in the link of the Mark Subforums Read and Mark Topics Read buttons. Mark Forums Read's link does have it, hence that one works. So if anyone's on the case, might want to give that a shot.
