Tonight, Yahoo.com is showing the pilot episode of the new TV show Terminator, the Sarah Connor Chronicles. Video quality is pretty bad, but you get the gist of it. Anyone see it? I thought it was actually pretty good. After a number of discussions with friends, I was ready to think it would probably tank, but now I think it might actually do well.

So, talk it up. Or not.

Man, that sucks. You might be able to find it on youtube for a little while. They'll probably pull it eventually. It's worth a shot.

Looks pretty cool although the terminator guy looks a bit too scrawny to me but he has the mannerisms down pretty good.

I just hope they give it time to develop, build an audience and not drop it because of costs.
I'd like to see it run for at least three years but probably no more than five, that should be enough time to develop it properly.

Yeah, that's right. You go sit in the corner and think about what you've done.

I don't think it should take three seasons for any show to develop properly. If it takes that long, the show should end. Unless I misunderstood and, by develop, you mean "run its course and end while it's ahead." Why would you want a show to finish right after it develops?

I meant that three to five years would be enough time to develop the show, characters and all, even though we already know pretty much to expect. it's the addition of any new characters that may take some time to develop but if it goes on too long especially on a subject matter that most people already know the back story and characters then it would become too routine and stale to me.
End it on a high note rather than going out with horrible stories ,routine plot lines and bad ratings is all I meant. 8)

I can't watch it online, but I'm gonna say.

Normaly I avoid these shows like a vegan feast(like there is such a thing), it has all the trendy aspects that I hate in especialy FOX dramas.

However it does also have robots and explosions, so I have to say I wanna give this a try.

why can't they just make an un-sucky movie sequel? i'll give it a shot, but i just don't see a terminator story interesting me for a whole season. maybe as a substitute for LOST this year... :-?

Oh come on! When the female terminator in the third movie pumped her breasts up that was CLASSIC! :APPLAUSE:

I think they only have 6 episodes in the can so to speak so beyond that then it's re-run city and a wait until the writers strike is over and then we have what a directors strike and or an actors strike to contend with too!

There has been mention of a strike by the actors.

T3 did complete the circle rather well.

It was never explained in the previous two movies how John Connor came to lead the resistance.

WIth John.... Sarah taught him everything as far as weapons training goes and when the bombs go off, he assumes command from that fall out shelter. What else is left to explain?

The TV show.... I dunno, Time Traveling and building future weapons is that easy? Also, What happened to the Terminator they blew up? Aren't those pieces vital to them because someone could reverse engineer those pieces like Tyson did in T2 with the Original Terminator's Arm.

Finally, The Terminators had expressions on their faces! The Terminator in the Dream sequence had a smile if I recall correctly.

So... is this suppose to connect with T3?

On a side note... Isn't this the greatest advertisment for the Terminator Franchise?

One of the themes of the movie series was the concept of time loops. Recall that in the first movie, the soldier sent back to protect Sarah Connor knocked her up.

In the third movie, the terminator sent to protect John told him about the Crystal Peak shelter, where John would make contact with surviving military units and ships, and thuis start the Resistance.

As for the TV series, remember that the engineers from the future traveled back to the 1960's. In no way can it be implied it was easy to build a time displacement unit.

interesting dbz77, I was just always under the impression that the resistance didn't have access to Time Travel because the machines built it.
