What's your favorite Superhero/comic book movie?

Everyone has differing tastes and I'm curious on what responses this'll get. My personal favorite is Batman Begins. I've watched it I believe 19 times including tonight and it just gets better every time. It's what Batman is like when he's ripped directly from the comics. I love it. Probably my favorite movie even over any of the Star Wars films. The music was just incredible and helped draw me in.

Actually I'm listening to it's soundtrack right now. Enjoy a sample.

Hans Zimmer owns my soul.

I'd say it's Batman Begins first, then X2 a very close second. Batman Begins has all the right ingredients (great acting, great score, impeccable cinematography, Liam Neeson), and then handled amazingly well. I can't wait for the next one.

X2 ranks so close is that while BB might be a better overall movie, I was more emotionally invested in the X-men, as I used to own a 12 year straight run on Uncanny. X2 is the pinnacle of what the movie X-men should have been. The scene where Jean sacrifices herself, and the subsequent reaction on the jet, is perfect X-men, lifted straight from the Claremont vein.

That's why, no matter how bad any of the Punisher/Daredevil/etc movies might be, X3 gets my uncompromising vote for worst comic book movie ever. Ever.

The Crow, official spokesperson for Goth.

For me, it would have to be Hellboy. It followed so closely story-wise to the comics. The actors were perfect. It was just pure-awesome. The Hellboy Animated films are even better.

....have you seen Elektra, or Blade Trinity. X3 was atleast watchable, anyone who didn't leave the theatre(after seeing Elektra and Blade Trinity) with blood pouring from their eyes are inhuman.

This is a tough one for me. I really liked X2 but I think Batman Begins would just beat it out.

My favorite remains Superman: The Movie.

Superhero Movie: Batman Begins. Christopher Nolan + Christian Bale + Everyone else except Katie Holmes = Pure awesomeness.

For general Comic Book Movie, I'd still probably say Batman Begins, but I have to give an honorable mention to The Crow.

Batman Begins, then the Spider-Man trilogy for me.

Believe it or not, I like Superman Returns. It's not on the top of my list, though.

I dropped something like $30 on a DVD of Batman Begins at Barnes&Noble, and put it in the player immediately after getting home. And I think it was $30 well spent. And you can bet I'll be in the theater for Dark Knight Returns.

Then there's the Spidey movies. One and two were better than three, but, after a little persuation, I think one is better than two. SM2 got bonus points for making Doc Ock cool. SM1 was very well told and stuck amazingly well to the comics. (Especially the Bridge Scene.) SM3 had plenty of cool lines to go around and great acting, but it was a bit too long.

The Mask, techincally, is a comic movie. Jim Carrey at his finest.

Then there's 300, which I haven't seen yet, and will inevitably go on my list.

top 3 superhero:

1) batman begins
2) the crow*
3) hellboy

top 3 miscellaneous comic book movies:

1) sin city
2) v for vendetta
3) 300

i'm honestly not sure where the movies from the two lists rank compared to each other, so i won't even try.

*the fact that i love this movie so much despite its uber-gothness is a testament to its greatness.

Batman Begins (except for the last half hour), Batman Returns (except for the weird plot jumps), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Superman 2 is great, especially when he loses his powers. I love the opening scene to Blade but the rest is kind of bland.

I honestly don't know. Maybe Spider-Man? Who knows. I'd like to say something new that no one's yet thought of, but I can't.

I dare someone to put Howard the Duck on his or her list.

Actually I sold it on ebay for $500. But that's beside the point.

Man, you could get a lot of beer and porn with that.

I'd be so proud if you did.

My Top 5

1. Spider-Man

- In my opinion, the first Spider-Man movie is the best comic book movie ever, because (at that time) it was the only comic movie to stick close to its comic book roots (despite the web shooting thing) and therefore I thought was the best representation of a comic book on the big screen. I didn't like Spider-Man 2 that much, but enjoyed Spider-Man 3 more than Spider-Man 2, despite the complaints (plot holes, bad acting, little character development, etc...) about the third movie.

2. Batman (1989)

- Yeah, I like Batman Begins a lot and like the direction they are taking with the new Batman movies, but Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film is my favorite Batman film (does anyone remember those Coke - or was it Diet Coke - commercials?). However, as a kid, Batman Returns was my favorite Batman flick.

3. The Crow

- Everything about this movie is sweet. Cool characters, cool premise, cool sets/atmosphere, cool action scenes. I didn't see it in theaters but when I bought the video tape, I must have watched it 10 times in that year.

4. Daredevil

- I didn't really like this movie when I saw it. I don't like Ben Affleck at all (although I think his brother Casey is pretty cool), but this movie grew on me the second time I watched it. Kind of like a sleeper favorite. I have no desire to watch Electra though, even before all the bad reviews came in.

5. X-Men

- Another movie that I didn't like the first time I saw it, but liked it upon second viewing. I didn't like X2 as much - almost fell asleep at times. The second movie was too long, and I guess the producers thought so as well, since X-Men The Last Stand is shorter. But since the third X-Men movie is shorter, it has some similar complaints as Spider-Man 3, like not much plot and character development. And what's up with Cyclops? Do they just hate the character or James Marsden? Cyclops is in a huge chunk of the first X-Men film, but appears in 20 minutes of X-2 and like what, 2 minutes of X-Men The Last Stand? But the most suckiest (this a word?) thing about the X-Men films is that they don't have my favorite character Gambit (the name Remy LeBeau appearing does not count).
