Man, this thread doesn't even show up in my list of threads I've posted in.

Anyway, I got Wheel Blade and Peach Girl in the mail today! They were supposed to show up near the end of LAST month instead of near Christmas, but I guess they're just Christmas presents to myself now!

I have their Minerva and she's fantastic. However, a "INDBLADE repaint? That's a bit of a head-scratcher. Still, nice score because she's supposed to be a convention exclusive.

And that chibi "Arcee" is just adorb!

Got a little something that is cute and adorable. A chibbi "Arcee", Peach Girl from Mukudo!

Image

Surprisingly posable despite her big head, her joints are tight and is very expressive.

Image

We also know exactly where she like to be screwed hard. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Image

(ง ͡°ᗜ ͡°)ง

|⏓ヘ⏓|

Ahem....
Anyway, the transformation is simple but a bit fiddly. The vehicle don't really roll either. It mostly slide. Still, the vehicle is perfect and it can store both weapons. The gun plug underneath.

Image
Image

My only true gripe with this figure is that the gray is way too dark. It should have been way more white. Appart that it's an amazing little thing, worthy of an Arcee collection.

Well, look like this thread is my own personal one and no one else is allowed to post here. >:oP

---------------------------

I got an old fool that I wanted for so long, Toy World's Bulldog! Based on Transformers The Last Knight, he's that half senile WW1 veteran.

Image

He comes with a lot of stuff but I don't know about that gray Built-A-Figure arm. The Starscream it's supposed to make look promising, but I hate the BAF principle, where you are forced to buy a whole bunch of toys you don't care about just to build the BAF. I'll either sell it, or keep it forever in my archives.

A surprise finding here. The tank is compatible with the current War For Cybertron blast effect for some BLOOOOOSH action!

Image

The painting and sculpting on that tank is magnificent.

Image

I'm not sure about the scale in vehicle mode compared to SS Jetfire though.

Image

In bot mode, both look right next to each others.
Bulldog was simple to transform, but HARD to do. Literally. I mean, the joints are so tight, and things snap so snug, that often, I had to force things or even use a "Nutella knife" to help me. Let's hope nothing will break in the long run.

Image

Bulldog have many head accessories, but I'll never use any.

Image

The default face is simply perfection.

Image

Overall, I'm very happy with him. I love the "geriatric" robot principle, even though it doesn't make much sense. Especially when the bots are supposed to be basically immortal. Unless things work differently in the movieverse than the classic one.

That's a pretty neat piece! Should go well with WW2 Bee and Hot Rod. If I cared about movie figures I'd probably get one. As for my haul, my 2nd ever 3P purchase, finally I got a Devastator that scales with Combiner Wars:

Nice DEVI! Can you give me the precise name of this K.O so that I can finally have one myself? I've been looking and looking but I never have any precise info on the actual size of the thing so I never order anything.

hope this helps, taken from the best 3rd party devastator thread:

The scaled down version has TAIKONGZHANS/cool become brave on the box and seller description should state 12 inch. That's the ko Cw/UW devy. The artwork on the box is stolen art so it says 18inch/45cm so it can be confusing but it's the undersized one.
New 12in transformers IDW devastator figure ko in box should bring it up in when searched in eBay. Benskollectibles has a review of it on YouTube.

Thanks! Found it.

They even show the size clearly in a picture.

So, how's the quality?

That's the one. TAIKONGZHANS Kubian is the actual name of the figure, and everything blackeyedprime said is correct. It cost me $100 USD shipped. I bought mine from a US seller, I don't trust the Chinese. It cost more but it was worth it, I had it in 3 days. It's a pretty good set, the connections are tight and the figures on their own are good as well, all deluxe sized. The way Hasbro should have made theirs. I haven't posed mine too much yet, but all the joints are tight so it should be fine. I recommend the set based on size and quality of plastic only.

Well, there's a price to pay for speed.
Regardless, that US seller had to import from China. If the price difference was for 10$ or so, it's a no brainer. But 50$?

So far, even in a pandemic, I had no problem importing anything from China. Like the lovely girl above.

But When you get a chance to get him on ebay for $1.25.
1.25!!! $9.66 shipped...
so now I got him.
Cool figure, by any standard!

I'm not a fan of knock-off. I really HATE knock-off... that is, if they are only 1:1 copies of the original with no mods and tries to pass as the real thing.

Knock-offs that are severely modded over the original, including over-sizing or under-sizing, I'm all for it. Especially when the K.O "fix" a "problem" that the original had.

Best example is Combiners Wars Devastator. The original have voyager sized components that make a titan class giant robot. The scale match for the vehicles but the bots, especially the combiner, are way too big compared to their CW/PotP brethren.

That's why some years ago I sold my CW Devastator. Only recently I bought the under-sized K.O of CW Devastator. His name varies but you can find it easy on Ebay under "12 inch Devastator". And for 62.50$CAN shipped, it wasn't a high risk.

Well, damn! This set is GOOD. Shipped in a brown box with each components in bubble wrap. The vehicles are a bit undersized except Longhaul but I can safely classify them all as "deluxes". PotP Jazz for comparison.

Image

They have that weird K.O :CON: symbol on them so I reprolabels them proper :CON: . Then, transforming to robot modes. The plastic feel the same as the original. Meaning that semi-soft feeling. And oh boy are the joints TIGHT. Some were too tight like Longhauls head that needed some prying to "break" it. Scavenger's legs were just impossible to transform. That peg slider had to be filed down in order for the thing to work. I ham-handed the leg at first and I broke the ankle joint. That joint needed to be super-glued in place. Not a big loss. The sliders now work perfectly.

Image

The bot modes are fantastic and very stable. Some joints are too looses but they are very rare. The overall feel is tighter than a newlywed! However, the guns can only go to specific bots due to varying peg sizes. Select Nightbird as comparison.

Image

Devastator combine solidly and he have very TIGHT joints all over. He's my most stable combiner of all. His joints are solid and can stay still in any poses. That's something compared to the regular CW combiners who all suffer from "ragdoll syndrome".

Compared to Defensor, he's a bit big:

Image

Compared to my upgraded UW Bruticus, he's perfect.

Image

Overall, this K.O is a must for any combiners fan who love to have a consistent scale. ;)^

Got in a few upgrade kits: DNA Design SS Grimlock, YYW DotM Soundwave (with guns!), DIY SS86 Grimlock. The DNA is fantastic but I am kicking myself for passing on it for retail since I ended up paying double for it now. The Soundwave kit has been in my cart for months now just waiting for me to make the purchase. It really is worth it for the guns and the new chest piece. The SS86 Grimlock kit is great with the fully posable hands, massive and great quality sword, and adapters to hold the gun. All these kits are really great and I am happy to have bought them. Hopefully the guys who make the SS86 Grimlock kit keep making them for the rest of the dinobots.

Call me crazy, but shouldn't that be accurate for Devastator? :-?
Construction vehicles are the largest mobile land-based machines on Earth.

Image

So by extension, Devastator should loom over someone like Menasor. Their largest component being Motormaster - who is just a truck with a trailer. Whereas Bruticus should be the biggest of the Decepticon Gestalts, by far. His smallest components - Vortex and Swindle - scaled up to match the largest.

Image

Personally I've always been of the opinion the scale of Gestalts shouldn't be uniform, but context specific.

Life lesson: Do NOT care about the scale of the vehicles for combiners if you want to keep your sanity.
:HEADHURTS:

Image

The problem is already present with the jets VS truck that are the same size in bot mode. And don't get me started on Astrotrain from the 1986 movie!

The easiest logical work around would have been for the larger vehicles to be Leg or Torso components. Had Blast Off been Bruticus' leg, no memes.

Since the beginning, I've had no issue with mass displacement. They are alien robots, with scientific understanding and technology way more advanced than our own.

A Transformer isn't a car than becomes a robot. It is a robot that disguises itself as a car. ;)

Astrotrain, due to the Movie, will forever be problematic. Not the mass displacement side of things. The full on Gestalt battle that occurs within him and doesn't make him burst/explode.

I liked the Scioli's GI Joe Vs. Transformers and Hearts of Steel interpretations of him. The Astrotrain is an enormous transport. That is also an enormous bot. Much like Broadside, given their function, they should never have been at the same scale as everyone else. But Super Robots, closer in scale to Omega Supreme.

That I agree. Unfortunately, the G1 toy was taken from another company so nothing scaled at the time. It could have been "fixed" for later interpretations though.

Imagine a titan class Astrotrain. Giant freaking bot like Metroplex. Transform into the space shuttle with the fuel tank and rocket boosters. And the train that not only have the engine, but 2 or 3 wagons. This thing if ever made, would be EPIC.
