I suppose this may be a little off topic, but only tangentially so..

The MT Nova Prime, while nice and all, didn't feel enough like what I imagine Nova Prime to be. I was really intrigued, on the other hand, in the one that never was, twice.

This one has my attention by being very different from those two interpretations, and fitting in with a different type of aesthetic altogether. Maybe. I wonder whether MP Star Saber will scratch my 'robot-with-more-robot-armour' itch instead.. :-?

Now that you've been on the podcast, it's hard not to read your comments with a British accent. ;)

Aside from now reading with a British Accent too (thanks, Megatronus!) I had an additional thought on the MT versus MMC. While I really like Battle Tanker as an add-on for Classics/Generations G2 Prime, the Nova Prime had me feeling a bit queasy bordering on KO territory. I wonder if that is some of my reasoning behind preferring MMC...

You're welcome!

Although the Laser Prime ripoff did bother me, as did the seemingly disproportionately steep price, those weren't the deciding factor that made me pass. I just simply like the stylized aesthetics of MMC - Seraph can be construed as ancient Cybertronian or part of the TF:Prime universe. It just seems more cohesive, streamlined, and attractive - and not a mere add-on. And thus I patiently wait for preorder information.

MMC really has a ton of stuff in the pipeline - I hope they announce their post-Fembot release schedule soon.

Those legs are looking mighty spindly, especially with that barrel-chested body.

That doesn't bother me too much though, or it won't so long as the "upgraded" winged-mode looks sharp.

Yeah, me too!

I like the overall design (and that it is a new mold, and not a borderline KO. I'm looking at you, MakeToys... O_o ) But, those upper thighs are really skinny, aren't they? I think some color is going to make a huge difference in my decision to preorder or not...

Also, if you can compact the upper legs into the lower (maybe as part of the transform?) you would only have single, instead of double, knee joints, but it would have much better proportions IMO.

Forgot all about this toy.

Think the toy in all modes looks a bit like Energon Landmine.

Something like this, I'm not interested in.

Was this toy needed? didn't another 3rd party company already create a Nova Prime toy?

Why is MMC creating toys other 3rd parties have already done? like the fembots, Predaking and Nova Prime. Sorry, MMC is far to slow to compete with most fast pace 3rd party companies.

Because people will buy them? I know I am one who is eagerly anticipating many of these toys you complain about. I'm happy.

BTW, if we followed your logic on preventing companies from pursuing bots already done, we wouldn't have a lot of really great toys out there. Competition spawns higher quality and lower costs, even in a 3P market.

(And I think we all know what you are really complaining about with MMC, though you didn't even mention the name... 8) )

yeah. but he was a borderline KO, and hella expensive.

Tsutsukakushi wrote:Why is MMC creating toys other 3rd parties have already done?
uhhh... dinobots anyone? how many companies are doing those? its called competition.

Tsutsukakushi wrote:like the fembots, Predaking and Nova Prime.
who else is making fembots? and their predaking is arguably the best one. and MT's nova, aside from being hella expensive, maybe some people just didnt like it?

Tsutsukakushi wrote:Sorry, MMC is far to slow to compete with most fast pace 3rd party companies.
..... are they? they seem pretty on par with all the others, and theyre certainly not the slowest.

That's the weirdest logic I've ever heard. Toys are a form of luxury, in which case none of them are "needed" in your life.

And if a 3rd party was to skip on making something another 3p had already done, you wouldn't be playing with your Maketoys Giant because TFC came first. And to some extend Carnifex would've been downright cancelled because that other one was officially announced first.

I'd like to see a comparison between this and the MT version when they're both out. As it stands though, this is awesome.

Thanks for the pics.

Thought the toy was going to be bigger and more bulkier than this.

Guessing it's UT Mania King 7.5 Voyager toy scale.
