EEeeeeuuuurrrcchchh! What the slag is going on with those hips!?! His legs just look like they're loosely hanging from his totally flat, square arse! Bleugh. Easy pass.

Was looking at the toy last night and I was wondering if the walking hips have limited range of forward movement. due to the hips joints being so far up the waist tab piece.

Think TW created the more normal looking, well proportioned robot mode.

DX9's weird looking, badly proportioned robot mode reminds me of a Hasbro, Built to rule TF toys.

CGA.
Dx9 D05 > Chigurh WIP prototype
It said something about improving the waist joint and pose-ability.

Improving the waist and hips is awesome news, As that's the main negative that I noticed last night about the toy.

A member on the TFW forums has figured out why the toy is being called, Chigurh. Apparently it's named after, Anton Chigurh. He's the antagonist from a book and movie called "No country for old men" Basically he just kills people... and doesn't care.

I read his name "Chigurh" is actually named after the supposed sound a train makes :-B

I'm not a fan of either of the Astrotrains coming out both just don't look right .

I'm in agreement. I'd love to upsize my Classics Astrotrain (and Octane for that matter), but neither one shown so far has captured my interest.

I like this one better because it doesn't have the stupid chest fin making it cartoon more accurate. But I'm not buying it because it doesn't scale with Blitzwing.

Yup. Classics Astrotrain could use a simple upsize. Barring that... I'm quite happy with the Specialists version.

Don't like the sculpt on this one at all, As it looks very Neo-Classics to me. Prefer the TW Astrotrain because I think it looks more like a MP TF Update toy.

TW version looks a fair bit better TBH. The overall design looks a lot better and more coherent, and it uses the vintage toy colours rather than the godawful brown and grey of the cartoon model (which not only looks hideous but was only used thanks to a mix-up with the character sheets). Also it seems a more manageable size.

Yeah. Devilstar is a Voyager whilst this guy is MP scale (and a huge one at that).

i almost want to have two of these:
-one chigurth in train mode to the left
-henkei/specialists atrotrain bot mode in the middle
-another chigurth in shuttle mode to the right

cause his alt modes didnt fit the scale of his robot mode by any means

Chimungmung.com and other imports sites. http://chimungmung.com/product_info.php ... ts_id=2103 are listing TW Devilstar-Atrotrain with a 22.5 cm tall robot height. Which translates to a 8.9 inch robot height, Which is Leader scale.

Or, maybe we can not care so much about specific height measurements? Approximations are good enough for many, including me. I would think that would be evident by now...
