Powerglide's agent must be working overtime! It appears yet another third-party/KO version of the G1 mini-bot is in the works. In addition to Maketoys, iGear, and X Transbots, it looks as though well known KO producer CHMS is also throwing their hat in the ring. The image mirrored below is from their weibo micro-blog, and as you can see it looks strikingly similar to Jizai Toys Powerglide.

Already? Wow! That is fast work, or an inside job. The 3rd party pieces aren't even out yet. I won't be picking up the 3rd party let alone the KOs.

I would have loved for the Jizai figures to have been mass released. Some KO figures are a hard thing for me to get behind though. With so much Powerglide love coming down the road, this isn't really needed anymore. Feels like a quick cash in. I'll be keeping an eye on this but I'm fairly certain I'll let this one slide.

I'd love to get a KO off the Wheelie if that would mean an affordable version of that amazing figure - but only because it just has been very available for most of us. Not really into this one as Hasbro has already covered the mini/legends size pretty well, and don't need 3 or more third party versions to cover the same ground!

He does not need a reality check on his prices, I've explained before and I'll do it again even though I know you'll just ignore it.

Jizai Toys is a tiny little garage kit/designer toy studio that makes very short runs of their kits (around 70 per kit).
These kits are only sold at the Wonder festival in Japan under a one day licence from Takara.
Jizai is not interested in making a profit, all they care about is making back their investment so that they can get to business on their next project. They can only make a limited amount of these and sell them on a one per customer basis.

The prices you see on ebay are inflated and do not reflect what they actually cost. The ebay prices contain the following:
  • The Wonder Festival entrance fee the seller payed
  • The original price of the kit
  • Commission for the people the guy payed to get multiples of the kit
  • Mark up since the seller wants to make a profit
Which is why new Jizai stuff costs around the 100 dollar mark on ebay right after the con.
Add to that that people love these kits and that the Wheelie and Cyclonus kits are damn old and no-longer available and go for ridicules prices in auctions. And those 900 dollars is just the ultra high mark-up buy it now price, complaining about the company that makes the kits just because some ebay seller wants 800% of what he originally payed is like complaining about Hasbro's pricing when someone goes and wants to sell a 20th Any Prime for 1000 dollars.

Personally,IMHO,The DOTM basic sized Powerglide is a extremly decent & size correct scaled G-1 Powerglide toy. why spend 3rd party prices when the DOTM Powerglide is cheaply priced.

Aesthetically, it doesn't work for some people, myself included.
