I ordered some weapons from Sunlink, in WSF Polished, I will link to a review when I get them. I started off with G1-accurate weapons for Prowl, Cyclonus and Wreck-gar.

Also, I am really interested in the Calloway Customs Punch/Counterpunch upgrade set. The hands have the thumbs down the middle so that they look good in both bot modes and the head is supposed to be much better.

Has anyone ordered this? I would love to see some examples of how it all looks assembled and painted.

Thanks dude :) that looks like the Mark 1 kit though because the hands are standard, I'm not sure if the head design changed at all between Mark 1 and 2. I should have stated that I was after pics of the mark 2 kit assembled/painted.

Been wanting to pop on the Shapeways Nato-Bot Roadbuster for a while, but those stories about "sanding" got me thinking shapeways is crap. How the hell do you "sand" a face the size of a fingernail ? Maybe Roadbuster might be easier, but how do people avoid sanding the eyes and lips right off a figure with a face ???

I'm trying out the "polished" quality of material. I can let you know when I get them how they compare.

The polished looks almost as good as smooth molded plastic. They do a good job keeping the detail too. I've found polished doesn't take paint as nicely as non-polished though, but maybe that was just the paints I used though?

I bought some accessories, including the Optimus Hands, and they were all wobbly junk.

That's why I'm sticking with single-piece accessories such as weapons. I don't trust moving bits at all from shapeways.

Yes, I got two pairs of Leader class Optimus Hands,
and they are completely worthless in everyway, the wrist just flops, can't even hold it's own weight.

On the otherhand.. I also bought a pair of Leader Class Iron Hide hands, and they are superb, other then the finish. They can hold just about anything including strong magnets.
and they fit the figure really well, plus they still allow the FWI-2 Blades to be inserted into the palm extremely securely.

so all in All, I'm going to shy away from Shapeways, but I can highly suggest the Leader IH hands. While you have to cut his arms to fit them, they are fantastic, and a steal at the price.

for now, I'm gonna pre-order the UFO leader OP hands.
They look much more refined. Plus they have viedo of the hands holding the Jet wing guns.

also i doubt he would make any money on the idw galvatron kits as doesnt shapeways take a percentage of everything you make thats then sold?

Yes, they take a percentage of the money you earn from selling the kit.

Also, I'm going to say BS on him working on 3rd party stuff.

Hey, I know this is late. Still, you're wrong to call BS. I wouldn't intentionally jerk you around. The guy is legit and has created designs that a lot of us probably own one or more of. Or will soon enough. He ultimately wants to work with Hasbro. That's why a lot of his work and credit is hush hush.

I'm thinking about buying a new sword for Drift, then getting the Reprolabels. Anyone here know the best one, if any of them at all?

You want a Drift sword, get this - it's cheaper than most things on Shapeways, and it's a finished product. I have this myself and it's pretty dang cool.

Awesome Swords

Will be getting those in time :)
But a question, I just got FE Starscream, and I love him to pieces.
Problem is, SOFT RUBBERS!
So, can anyone vouch for this upgrade kit? I only really need the head antenna and missiles, and maybe the blastor for shits and giggles. Its by Fakebuster, take a look: http://www.shapeways.com/model/461649/tfp-fe-deluxe-starscream-set.html
Has anyone bought this? And if yes, then how good is it?

I wont be replacing the knee spikes if I buy it. Ide have to remove, like, 3 pins and a screw. per leg. no thanks! But the other stuff looks good, and with the option of red as a printed color, how could it go wrong?

Spotted this tasty looking upgrade over on Shapeways this morning, not sure if its already been mentioned in this thread?

Created by Shapeways member TecromDesigns, these are an upgrade for RiD Prime 'Arcee', giving her a new 'Tempest' head and a pair of blasters!

Very tasty she looks too! :P

Nice find robotmel, this would make a nice stand-in for Chromia. It's amazing how just a different head makes this look like it could belong in a 'classicsverse' lineup!

Whilst having a browse on the Shapeways.com website I came across this handy little shoulder replacement for the KO Classics Prime mold to stop those wobbly KO City/DIA Commander parts from falling everywhere!

Might try a set out on my recently acquired White City Commander armour! ;)

Hi guys, I know this thread is a bit of a blast from the past, but I am working on custom Classics Devastator and was under the impression Shapeways did Energon combined extender pieces, I was looking to use these to add a little height however I can't seem to find them, anybody know where I can find them?
