Thanks. Will only consider it if it's sold by BBTS.

The end of the month approaches, any word on if this thing is actually going to be shipping this month or not? RK still shows it as late November.

I've decided to buy this thing. PM Prime was my Prime growing up, and I collect Classics style figures. This is like a match made in heaven!

I also got Junkion Blacksmith's Optimus Headmaster. I tried out my old PM Prime head on my Classics Prime and the peg on that works well enough, so it should be doable. Although it'll definately be tiny. I dunno if it'll actually look good together or if it'll just be an epic fail, but I figure it's worth trying.

I also tracked down the Optimus / Magatron Targetmaster set for this. This'll be more iffy since Trailerforce's hands weren't made for a standard peg, but I think I can make do with some clear elastics. If I can't, well ... meh. Wouldn't be my worst impulse buy.

Well, I guess we must wait a bit longer. From RK's preorder page:
Preorder, delayed to December 2012.

Further delays, I'm guessing they're hoping to receive more confirmed orders before going into their production run, but that's just my speculation:
Preorder, delayed to late Dec 2012 / early Jan 2013.

I was wondering about this for awhile, but have not been able to find info on this. Is this how 3rd parties function? Do they solely use pre-orders to fund a project?

If they don't get the amount of preorders they need does it get canceled?

OR

If the project at least gets listed on Robot Kingdom for preorder, or somewhere else, is it safe to say it will probably be produced?

Generally, pre-orders on 3rd party stuff get filled. There's only been a couple of cases where they don't get filled.

Actually, it's pretty normal for a 3rd party release date to get pushed back time and again. Even for Fansprojects.

I don't know how they generally work, but I suspect that they're waiting to make certain it's worth doing a production run and if it isn't, the toy will be cancelled. I only speculate on that because I saw mention earlier in this very thread about them trying to gauge interest in the project to see if it was worth producing or not.

People seem to forget that City Commander was delayed for what? 4 months? 5? before it saw release the first time.

People seem to forget that FP is the exception, not the rule. Their products are sold before their release or even prototype pics because of their reputation. Xovergen only has one other project under their belt which failed badly so I wouldn't be surprised at all if they dropped this project if there is insufficient interest in it from the customers.

I would find it unlikely if they dropped it this close to the (supposed) release date. From speaking with a couple sellers at Botcon last year, they only put up preorders from new 3rd parties if the company can prove there's something coming down the pipe and it's near guaranteed to make it to the shelves. I think that's why BBTS got cold feet over Omega Supreme (that and cost) but that's another topic entirely.

If a company is well established such as FansProject or TFC, then retailers are more likely to put up a preorder based on the company's word and early designs.

According to RobotKingdom, it's been delayed again, until January 2013. :-(

Nah, they just mean that the preorder is in stock (i.e. the preorders aren't sold out yet). It's said that all along. It's confusing, but that's how RK always lists their preorders.

Oh. Well, that's actually good, 'cause I won't have the money for 3 more weeks...

Very excited for this. I have my old Classics Prime out and next to my monitor already!

Let's just see if I can't use Junkion Blacksmith's headmaster and the Targetoids Optiaim with this set.

I can't wait either. Makes me feel better about not getting MP-13. I will be using a Ginrai instead of a Classics Prime.

Wow, that looks better than the previous pictures showed. I might have to look into this. It doesn't look like BBTS has a listing, but if they do...

They don't. Only one willing to risk this guy right now is RobotKingdom.

So judging from the pictures, the Armor add-on for Prime is going to get another Add-on?

A classics-style God Ginrai is unexpected but also too awesome for words.

Might be time for Takara to do another Henkei OP reissue... looking forward to the reviews on this.
