Hegemon is not perfect, but awesome! Also, WTF with the gun's trigger?

I just received my brand new Hegemon A.K.A the "true" Megatron. I find the original G1 too derpy looking and the Masterpeice is way too expensive. The best alternative was Hegemon. 136$ and only two days later (Bought it from a Québécois store), I have it in hand and I love it.

The Robot mode is almost perfect. First thing I did was of course adding a :CON: symbol on his chest. Only fault are the hips kibbles made by the folded panels. Kinda reminding me of the original MP Starscream's hip kibbles. Fortunately, like Starscream's, Meg's hip kibbles are only attached by ball-joints and can be easely removed in bot mode.

Transformation is easy and intuitive. The hip-kibbles panels are a pain, but I found out that it's easier to just remove them and plug them in as the very last step. The gun barrel have a tendency to pop off, but pop back in easely. On thing I loved is the annoying security orange cap is not glued and can be easely removed.

With the accessories in place, the gun mode is simply HUGE and GORGEOUS!

Unfortunately, this gun trigger have a factory mistake. There's no pins holding it in place. Fortunately, the trigger itseld and the tiny spring that it contain are still there and if you don't touch it, it stay in place. Is that a standard security measure like the orange cap or is it a mistake? Any clues for a easy fix?

On a amusing side note. The box I got have only two languages on it. Japanese and broken French!

As Hegemon owners, what do you think of him?

My trigger has a pin, you must have a defective one.

Thought so. No way I'm returning him over that. It's just a stupid pin. I KNOW it can be fixed. Anyone who know what kind of pins to use and how to fix this without breaking anything?

I have Hegemon and he is AWESOME, I agree :D!

I keep him in bot mode (of course) on my Classics shelf next to Henkei Prime and they look great together.

I have him and I agree that he isn't perfect but I would give him a solid 98% approval. Bot and gun mode are so full of win. This is the Masterpiece that Takara should have made in my opinion. I hope they take notes if they are planning a MP Megatron v2. I still need to get a :CON: for mine, I can't use Reprolabels site where I am, it sucks.

It sucks about the trigger on yours, mine holds just fine. You could cannibalize an old and no longer wanted transformer, take a pin, then sell the carcass to customizers.

I think Apetimus Supreme's carnage will be worth looking into. The only things I lack are tools.

By the way, why not just go to Ebay for your reprolabels?

OMG, thank you thank you thank you. My problem was Reprolabels only use paypal and paypal won't allow use of a korean address. These guys take card payments and I my set of stickers are already showing as dispatched. Colour me happy.

I had difficulties with that bit at first too. I hate to tell you this, but it's just the simple matter of "the peg goes into the hole". Just rotate the thing until if fall right in.

Still, whay would you want to peg that soulder in in the first place? At least, that arm can have a better positionning for better and more dynamic poses.

Yeah the shoulders had me sweating at first i was just checking the articulation and the left one popped out and i couldn't get it back in i had to transform him into a gun then back again before it fit again for some reason .

I had a problem with pushing the legs in to form the gun handle it was so tight i didn't think they moved.

The only minor problem i have is that the scope on his wrist is a tiny bit slack other than that i cant complain.

put a bit of clear nail polish on the inside of the slot and it should hold a lot better. The left leg on mine was a bit tight at first but it's find now.

I finally got around to transforming my Hegemon. Never again. Staying in robot mode until Im 6 feet under. Those tabs on the hip kibble are BS. You get one pegged in and it pops out the other. Way too many tabs that have to be perfectly alligned. It takes the fun out of transforming. I gave up trying to tab the gun together. But it looks so good in my collection, no regrets.

The trick is to just pop off the hip kibbles and plug them back in at the very last step. This way, there's no troubles.

Now... I cleaned the thread of the silly bickering and unlocked it.. If it happens again you both will receive 2 warnings, one for last time and one for continuing the argument.

I had to open up the left leg on mine. Transformation was leading into breakage territory because it was so doggone tight. I saw what it was once opened, so I just put it back together and left upper two screw looser than the rest. Voila! Fixed it. He transforms without any issues, now.

Weird thing...my trigger works, but the first time I pulled it, there was a clicking noise. Now..nothing.

A while ago, I used a loose pin from one of my junker used for customising.
The trigger is now pinned in place and work wonderfully.

Thanks for posting those fixes daimchoc :D!

I did the canon fix and it worked like a charm (no hammer needed, I just pressed the pin in with a screwdriver). I fixed my arm joints by actually just tightening the 4 screws on each shoulder as I had a feeling, after looking at its internal workings, that that may do the trick and it did. I'm sure I could get them tighter with some superglue or nail polish, but they seem to be holding just tightly enough now, including with the canon arm extended out :).

Now I just wish his canon shoulder could pivot out instead of being stuck flush against his body (an unfortunate side effect of the way he's engineered). It always sits pressed in at an angle and looks a bit odd, but it's not too bad (especially now that the canon is posed away from his body).

I didnt have any problems with mine beside the pinless trigger.

Still, these fixes can be applied to any figures. So, they're good to know.
hanks!

Awesome vids and big thanks to TJ Duckett for making them. Who knew the canon could be fixed as simply as pushing the pin down.

I assume you're talking about the ball joint connection. You can use some Future polish, nail polish, or even a dab of super glue to thicken the ball and it should secure the connection better. Good luck.
