Simon Furman has once again updated his blog, this time concerning Devastation #4, to be released on January 16th (17th in the UK).

At the end of last issue, the Autobots (a bit waterlogged, but otherwise undamaged after the crash landing/detonation of Ark-19 in the Gulf of Mexico) rose to challenge the Decepticons’ living weapon Sixshot (and save Ratchet from a messy end to boot). But the question remains, can even seven Autobots (one of whom is the mighty Optimus Prime) prevail against a one-bot weapon of mass destruction (with no less than six alt. modes) like Sixshot? And what’s more, can they really expect their ’secret’ war to remain a secret for much longer? The answer to the first question is ‘wait and see.’ The answer to the second question is ‘no.’

Art for the Issue will be by Robby Musso, standing in for EJ Su, who will return to duty for issue #5.

Furman also gives us a sneak peek at the cover for issue #4:

Man, at first glance, that sure looked like ol' Grimmy getting the slag knocked out of him.

The lady up front is smart!

But that face looks more REAL happy than terrified

I hope the guy gets crushed for just standing there.

As much as Sixshot's been advertised as the "living weapon" in this universe, and with all respects to those who think Sixshot is pure awsomeness, Prime oughta beat him. It shouldn't be an easy fight, but if he can't beat a grunt, what chance does have against Megatron?

I don't know. I think Prime's gonna barely hold his own in the end, and sixshot is going to be called back by Megatron because of the reapers attack. I feel like sixshot is technically more physically powerful than Megatron, but follows him for other reasons. He doesn't seem to have a whole lot of drive, and blowing stuff up appears to simply give him a distraction so he does it. He certainly doesn't seem to have any fear of Megatron.

Can't wai t to get my hands on this. After all this wait, getting #4 and #5 in one month will be so satisfying.

Have you even seen Sixshot in action?

He laid waste to a entire world in his spotlight.

Sixshot vs O-Prime = win

I suspect the solo soldier to be called off (rather than losing) but if Prime can't pull a decisive win it will raise questions as to why Sixshot actually follows Megatron.

I like Prime having to be pushed to his limits and face impossible odds. It's not that he's the fastest or even the strongest it's that he has drive and a better team player mind than his enemies. Don't get me wrong I don't think this Prime is weak by any means but I think the faction leaders can't lay waste to an entire world on there own.
