My point isn't even that- it's that Arcee would have tried to get in that attack of opportunity and can then have been captured, given up to catatonia, set free with the message and whatever, but it wasn't about her, it was the Smokescreen show. Same way Megz didn't need to parry any of those incoming shots but did anyway because it was the Dark Star Saber show.
The characters being written into the background have a right to keep their pride.Bumblebee has a right to a wtf? bleep at events or a 'heya' bleep at Smokescreen. The two are arguably agemates and don't even hang out.
One shot, no matter how failed, is still the defiance Arcee looks to utilize in a world (her world) where defiance is being steamrollered into pizza dough. She has a right to be remembered for that defiance.Especially when the show drags on with ages between arrivals in the name of character development only for that to be overlooked in the name of a toy that may never be marketed until a classics line 10 years from now...

That was completely epic. I do have a problem with Megatron getting that power so easily, I wish Knock Out would've said something about how hard that would be or something to make it seem like not just anyone could go grab a Prime arm.
Nevertheless, terrific! The saber battle was awesome, and I love the whole Omega lock reviving Cybertron....references from both Armada and Cybertron = win.

huh. this next episode is Smokescreen vs knockout for an omega key.
this last one was OP vs Megs for one.

So the next episode is the Speed Key in a sense?

To do the beast key they would probably send a billion insecticons in after, IDK, wheeljack? I'm over thinking this, but the homage is still there.

Hard Knocks?

Knock Out has the Resonance Blaster, controlling sound. Starscream has Red Energon, controlling speed. Smokescreen has the Phase Shifter, defying matter. It's going to be an all-out relic battle for the next key. :D

Awesome!
I wonder how many uses Starscream can get out of his supply of the Red Energon.

Alpha and Omega

This episode seemed a little cheap to me...The dialouge didn't really flow all to well(Except for Alpha Trion talking to Optimus & the end when Smokescreen proves to have survived) as well as feeling the action was extremely rushed. Oh well.

Can't wait til Hard Knocks. It's about time Knockout gets his own episode since Speed Metal.

Technically, the last episode Knock Out had to "himself" per-say was Tunnel Vision. Besides, Hard Knocks co-stars Starscream, Smokescreen, etc. ;)

Always keep forgotting Tunnel Vision...Anyways in Speed Metal,Knockout co-stared along Bumblebee and same in Tunnel Vision. Kinda glad we get abit of a change up. Plus Smokescreen versus Knockout, The battle I've waited to see since Smokescreen's arrival.

Yeah I'm looking forward to this too. I really hope Smokescreen makes some smartass comment about Knockout's vanity

Didn't the classic Trion have some blue/purple on that arm though?

As for why Optimus or Smokescreen wouldn't/didn't notice the familiarity of the arm when they saw it, for Optimus, maybe he did. He probably just didn't get the chance to say so out loud/give exposition to the audience.

Or he may have recognized that the arm was from a Prime, just not one he knew all that well. One way or another, it's pretty clear he recognizes what Megatron did, otherwise wouldn't have been as horrified and pissed off as he was.

The artwork of Aligned Alpha Trion in the Binder of Revelation shows him to be a very megenta/fuschia-colored bot.

Then again, it wasn't exactly common knowledge to the general cybertronain public that Alpha Trion was one of the Thirteen, so Megs wouldn't exactly know to take his arm.

Unless he'd had found out later on after the Great Exodus. Like if Shockwave had pried that info out of him and reported it to Megatron at some point.

G1? Uhm...I don't recall a lot of other battles for keys other than the "Key to Vector Sigma," but even then, the Stunticons and Autobots didn't race.

Or........"Trans-Europe Express." But was there a key?

:-? :BANG_HEAD:

I'd like to know what the other homage is, BeastProwl

Dang. This was a GREAT episode.

I was really let down about Smokescreen's demise. I know it's not realistic to keep everyone around, but I'm really tired of people getting offed on this show. Give us a small window of time, at least.

Then they blindside me with the phase shifter. Nice. Although...the explanation as to how it saved him is a bit hokey...

Cliffjumper, Skyquake, Makeshift, Tailgate, Seaspray, Breakdown, Hardshell, and maybe Shockwave? None of those guys were major characters, mind Breakdown (which is up for debate anyway). They didn't really develop to a far enough extent for us to care about their deaths, yet again mind Breakdown. I was hoping for the death of Bulkhead, as it would bring some needed drama to this show. Killing off all the bad guys and leave the dead good guys for cameos is a pain.

Megatron was missing for a while- as shown at the very opening of this show. Does his departure happen before the fall of Iacon as per the Smokescreen intro? If so, it's debateable that he (Megz) would know of the death of Alpha Trion or the location of his (A3s') crypt. Furthermore, there had to be Autobots alive who could build that crypt without fear of attracting Decepticon attention, otherwise it would be hidden or makeshift. I'm guessing a golden age Prime, or thereabouts. Maybe a 'lesser' one like Optimus.

There's pretty much an antiquated Autobot symbol on the door. Does it look familiar to anyone?

Out scouting for more troops.

Uhm, the fall of Iacon occurred when the Autobots left on the Ark. Then, the 'cons stormed it. His departure happens during the events of being on Earth, years later.

Aha! (I haven't read the books or played the games).

So, Megatron was present at the fall of Iacon and was in command of the battle in the books/games BUT is not confirmed to be involved in the storming of the archive complex in the series. (Also, Jazz wasn't possibly at the storming because he was on the Ark according to the Wiki).

Smokescreen began his journey to earth in the escape pod before the A/bots even started heading towards Earth, because there's an assumption they planet-hopped around first? But there was still a Decep presence and interest on/in Earth at that time.

Alpha Trion confirms that he launched all the relics (that are relevent to TF:PRIME) but nobody ever saw or heard from him again after that (the message in the sword to Optimus being recorded before the storming or right on the event).

Megatron led the Deceps to Earth and then left only to vanish 'forever' and then reappear with the Dark Energon in his possession at the opening of this show?

Still, (provided I've got my head around the above right) that would still make the tomb Autobot built. If it was Alpha Trions' tomb after the fall of Iacon it would mean he escaped the storming. I'm still betting on a different Prime.

The Hall of Records was stormed after the Ark and Nemesis left. So Megatron was not present for the taking of the Hall as he was chasing the Ark, which was going from planet to planet at the time.

Though, Iacon itself was taken right as the two ships were launched from Cybertron, so as the two skirmished in the skies above, Iacon fell to Decepticon control, with the Hall of Records being the last stronghold standing after the ships departed.

Alpha Trion would have had his vision of Earth while the Ark was still planet-hopping and so would have sent the relics there long before either faction would have ever reached Earth.

Red Energon.

Still don't know how Red Energon is a reference since it isn't the color but the power that's special about it.
