Wasn't Kai already heavily edited for TV? You have to wonder why they'd pick up shows if they're just going to cut them all to hell.
It was mildly/generously edited for Nicktoons, and severely edited for the CW.

Rage of the Dinobots - Issue #4

Issue #3 pissed me off enough to not care about what happens here. Long story short, Shockwave traps the Dinobots & Magnus, the Dinobots & Magnus escape, Shockwave has a bunch of avatars all over Cybertron which is why he can die 10 times in a row...

Magnus & the Dinobots prepare to leave Cybertron and join Optimus, but the Dinobots stay behind. Magnus goes by himself.

And Ultra Magnus joins the split-up Autobots in the third season of Transformers: Prime. That's it for the brilliant "Rage of the Dinobots" comic series, everyone.

Reflection

Issue #1 was great, issue #2 was better, issue #3 sucked, and issue #4 was hardly okay. The last couple of issues really took points from me on this series. It reset the status quo quicker than the climax of ROTF. I'm changing my rating of this series from 3.7/5 to a 2.5/5. It's really sad.

I mean, if the Dinobots weren't going to end up going to Earth in the first place, they could've turned all the Dinobots into forged Predacons and it wouldn't have been a problem for the cartoon. Jeez. :BANG_HEAD:

Makes sense since they're the stars of the upcoming Beast Hunters comic, which is also set on post-Great Exodus Cybertron.

You're really hung up on that plot point, aren't you? ;)

Swoop was evil for a few minutes. It was interesting to think Shockwave could potentially control them, but seeing as they're the Dinobots, it was never going to be permanent or even effective. Having them be a holdout of rogue soldiers is a bit cliche, but it's a good use of the Dinobots. Surely they'll have opportunity to get characterization stuck in close quarters with limited resources.

Hopefully Sludge will finally get something to do... like explain why he's not dead. And why he's still so chummy with Grimlock after Sludge was effectively abandoned and left to die.

What's that about the last part in spoiler tags?

ok I didn't see this mentioned anywhere so I'm going to throw it out there and if it is already out there sorry.

But after Watching the Trailing for the first episode of Transformers prime Beast hunters coming out in a few weeks. a question has come to my mind. when you watch the tailer Jack asked Arcee if there are anymore Autobots. reply we are few and far between. and at the end it seems Optimus's spark went out and he says there will be another prime. ok I know they came out with an optimus Beast hunters toy already, and it might just be he is one of my favorites but does anyone thing hasbro was hinting there towards Rodimus Prime showing up or do like the movie start with Ultra Magnus and HotRod(I refuse to use Hotshot) is with him and towards the end of the season become Rodimus Prime. Just a thought (or a hope)

Well, if "Rage of the Dinobots" is anything to go by, Ultra Magnus very well might be coming to Earth.

As for any Rodimus Prime, for this continuity, Hasbro combined the characters of Hot Rod and Hot Shot into being the same person (since they're so similar in both personality and name, and since Hasbro can't use the name "Hot Rod" anymore). So now, in this continuity, the Autobot who grows to become "Rodimus Prime" is named "Hot Shot". As for any word of his appearing in the show, nothing's been said.

As for Optimus dying, I doubt he'll actually die since Hasbro can't kill him off permanently, but this show is all about keeping dead characters dead. So if Optimus dies, he'd have to stay dead, and that's something Hasbro won't do. So, he'll have to at least be kept alive long enough for any kind of repair job to happen, be it a body upgrade of whatnot.

I'll bet you my left arm this will be the story of the "new Prime."

Optimus passes the Matrix to Ultra Magnus.
Ultra Magnus, now a Prime, uses the Forge to repair Optimus.
Magnus gives the Matrix back to Optimus.
Optimus kicks ass and sells toys.

The End. >:oP

I can honestly see this happening.

Post it in the trailer thread too, just to see what happens. :P

What's that about the last part in spoiler tags?

Based on dialogue from Sludge's memory core, it seems Grimlock ignored his protests and insisted they press on. Sludge is lost track of during the resulting firefight. After being given his new beast mode and escaping, Grimlock goes in search of the other members of his team but seems totally indifferent to Sludge's absence, suggesting he already knew Sludge was dead/offline or consciously abandoned one of his teammates.

Admittedly, some of that is only implied, but if Sludge gets some characterization that's something that really needs to be addressed.

It kinda sounded to me like Sludge was tortured to death by the enemy, leaving nothing Grimlock and co. could have done for him.

Oh, thank goodness! After the onslaught of edits done to last week's episode, episode 13 thankfully only had three Vortexx edits, all of which were minor.

1. Arcee's line of "hooked up to life support" (referring to the critical-conditioned Megatron) was cut.

2. Arcee's line of "Enter Megatron's brain? Ratchet, are you out of your fraggin' mind?" had "fraggin'" taken out... somehow. Comparing the two versions, no video seemed to be cut, nor is their any signs of it having just been muted. The mouth movement seems to match up in both versions, as well. I guess this one edit was done so seamlessly that it would simply not register to the untrained eye.

3. The new commercial break played right after Arcee muttered "Scrap!" (when she realized that the cons finally noticed the Cortical Psychic Patch cable) and looked and the the unconscious Bumblebee, before the scene switched back to inside Megatron's head.

As a bonus, I took the time to go back and do proper, side-by-side comparisons for episode 3, episode 4, and episode 5 (lost my recordings for episodes 1 and 2, so those will come later), giving updates to the previous comparisons with corrections, new edits, and notes on their new commercial breaks.

The third season is getting it's own world premiere screening. The invitation includes a CGI rendering of Beast Hunters Optimus Prime! Check it out!

I found out yesterday that season 3 is the last season of the show and it's only going to be 13 episodes. I know I'm late on the subject but damn.. I'm sad now. This show better go out with the biggest bang ever in television history.

I just found out today season 3 is going to be the final season, and half as long as the other seasons. Way to be a buzzkill, Wigglez!

It was on the Facebook page of the show and in the news sections on Seibertron. Do you come here for just the forums?

Me too pretty much. Unless I see something that catches my eye. But this is sad news of Prime though. I can understand the last season part, but why make it only half as long as the others? Me no likey at all. It better be the best thing I have and will ever see in my life.

They said they had like five seasons worth of story to tell...too bad they burned through it in two. Doesn't matter. If Hasbro is as committed to Aligned as they say they are, this won't be the last we hear from it.

You thinking direct sequel territory, like Beast Machines?

I certainly wouldn't mind, but I'd be very surprised.

A direct sequel would be nice. But not like Beast Machines.

Sorry I have been a little out of the loop I understand this is the last season of Prime but there is a new show coming out ? If so is it a continuity of Prime or a whole new story ?
