I'm glad I'd already reserved my room. I got a good feeling about this year.

So when will early-bird registration end?

Now, to speculate what the theme will be. More than likely something related to the thirtieth anniversary...

Not surprised at all, see y'all there!

I would bet sometime around Early-mid May. Also highly depends if they sell out.

I'd like to see some Diaclone homages, but not for the entire set as I think it'd be kinda boring.

Something that would cross many years of TF history is my hope.

Lots to do there, or try DC, Boston, New Orleans, or maybe overseas. You can get by pretty cheap in Europe, look up Rick Steves's travel guides.

Boo! So are the days of BC moving around over? Is it basically just a west coast event now?

Yeah I do want to get back up there and check out the Freedom Tower. I been to New Orleans too. Best food ever fried catfish on the river. ;)

But for me, half the fun of Botcon is seeing a new city. I already went to Pasadena at Botcon 2011. And last June I went to Botcon in San Diego. Ive seen enough of California.

So, uh, question: what package is the cheapest route to go, but still get the box-set and the free figure? Would it still be the Primus package, or is there a slightly cheaper package that still includes those goodies?

3 out of the 4 last Botcon's (including 2014) have been in California. That is totally not fair for a convention that supposedly tours the country. Here's hoping to one in Michigan soon

I'd kill for a Gotbots set, (Yes I realise they said no more unicron trilogy toys but I love 'em and I think they fit the best)

Sideways/ rapid run - Cykill (New head)
Armada Demolishor - Tank with minicon Destroyer
Armada Thrust - Fitor with Defendor
Armada Cyclonus and black out - Coptur (New head) and minicon treds
Armada Smokescreen and liftor - Crain brain with spoons minicon
Armada Starscream - Leader 1 (New head)
Minicon sureshock - Scooter
Deluxe Armada prime and over run - Staks and minicon Royal-T
Armada blurr - Turbo (New head)with minicon slicks
Armada Jetfire - spay-c

Well that's my personal wish list

That's an argument that has made the rounds in recent years. It would be nice if it really was a cross-country event, but the conclusion that a lot of fans have come to is that it makes sense financially for BotCon to be out West due to production and distribution reasons. I'm not saying I agree, nor am I speaking for anyone else, I'm just touching up on what I've read here and other places. Bottom line is, Hasbro and FunPub go to California because it's most convenient for a large part of the fan base as well as their bank accounts. They have gone to other cities as well (Orlando, Dallas, etc.) but California is more frequent due to these reasons.

Everyone on TFW2005 seems to think it's going to be Shattered Glass Beast Wars. If so thats alot of money saved. I wont feel so bad about the thousands I spent on 3rd party stuff this year. So yeah I hope it's true.

As for Shattered Glass Beast Wars, that would be a cool idea for 2 years from now, the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars.

For this year, I think it will be something that's either totally G1, or something that spans 30 years, from G1 to Prime.

So you live in America's Tatooine too, huh? I also am so unfortunate.
Despite the rational reasons stated, I'm inclined to agree with you. I havent been to Bot-Con since 2004 for this very reason. They used to centralize the thing a bit more, but those days are gone like tiny, fast missiles on toys.
California. Again. Really?

Given the cost of having to fly there it might as well be in Europe. Or on Cybertron, if it were real. Oh! Oh! Hey Fun Pub, why not the freakin' center of the Earth?! I hear the Lava Monsters love TFs too!

:BOOM:

How epic of a troll move would it be if the set, including the attendee only figures, were all Bumblebee from throughout the ages.

G1 Bumblebee
Pretender Bumblebee
Classics Bumblebee
Animated Bumblebee
2007 Movie Vintage Camaro Bumblebee
2007 Movie Concept Camaro Bumblebee
Transformers Prime First Edition Bumblebee
Transformers Prime Robots in Disguise Bumblebee
IDW Generations Bumblebee
Generations Transformers War for Cybertron Bumblebee

They would of course all have a special BotCon Transformers 30th Anniversary badge to make them unique. :michaelbay:

Or at least bring it back to Chicago or Ft. Wayne like it was back in the day.. I have yet to make it to Pasadena so I'm excited about next year. Would like to see it start to move around a little more instead of going back to the same places every other year but seeing that it is the 30th anniversary there is probably a good reason to have it in a location where many of the voice actors live who wouldn't normally travel for a botcon.

The "Free figure" is for attendees only that have Primus packages. The Iacon package for non-attending gets you the box set but not the extra loose figure. That said, the $100 or so average aftermarket for the attendee figure is maybe 1/6 the cost of a flight from Wilmington to LAX.

Souvenirs sometimes sell out and aren't available on their site after, sometimes they don't sell out and are available on their site after. If they are, they end up being the same price as they were at the show, although shipping then comes into play.
