After some discussion with the mods, it has been decided that Prowl will be made available later in the game. Perhaps you could try someone like Bluestreak as a first character.

:? I am afraid that Bluestreak might be a tad difficult for me (clash of personalities--I am more of a quiet person than Bluestreak would ever be). I am also willing to wait until he is available later in the game.

I love to roleplay, particularly transformers. But I wouldn't return unless 2 things happened and I doubt they will. Why am I expressing this you ask? Because I hope someone will listen and make these changes to attract more players.
1) There needs to be a system of accountability to avoid god-mode playing. Don't say it doesn't happen cuz I know it does. A system of practical stats and a means to determine success or failure like a digital die system. I know they are out there cuz I've seen them. The honor system, the give-and-take DOES NOT work!
2) I wanna play Metroplex! I loved playing him in another site and I thought I did a good job at it without abusing his size and power. So unless characters like these become available I'm not coming back. If you implement the first suggestion the second one becomes manageable.
I think it has to be mentioned that I lost interest because nothing ever happened. Most players sat around waiting or encouraged me to sit around and wait for stuff to happen. BORING!!!!!

Please don't take this a slam on the rpg but rather as a suggestion for improvement.

I guess you won't be playing the rpg again, which is a shame since I thought you were a good RPer. The moderators are around to patrol for powergaming. If players have a problem with someone they can bring it up to them. We are not about to complicate the game with a greater series of stats and dice rolls. This game has always been about writing and creativity, I wouldn't want to see any part of it simply reduced to numbers and dice rolls. As for Metroplex, I don't see him ever becomming available for play. He is far too powerful and honestly would rarely see action. You complained about the game being 'boring,' well I can just about guarantee that Metroplex would rarely see any action.

Hmm. This is a potentially interesting thing (played lots of tabletop RP, but never tried forum-based RP), though there aren't any characters at the moment I think I could play. (I'd be the type to play one of the out-and-out nerds... like Jetfire, Skids, or Lightspeed. :) )

You're very welcome to apply for Skids if you'd like.

I am not entirely sure who to play anymore if I would resubmit an application.

How about Inferno or Red Alert? They're fire and rescue vehicles along the same vein as a cop car. And I know they're not on the roster list, but I'm sure if you asked a mod for permission, they'd be willing to work with you. Just an idea.

Thank you and I appreciate the thought/suggestion but I am not entirely sure about either one. And I really would like to play.

I feel your pain. About a year ago when I first joined the RPG (the old version) I was not able to play my fav character Smokescreen. But, I really wanted to play so I settled on Bluestreak since he was the closet 'bot to Smokey I could get. I ended up really liking Bluestreak and I made him into a sort of comic relief with his neverending talking. Eventually, Smokescreen became available and I grabbed him up, as well. Since then the game has been rebooted, and I was lucky to get Smokey again.

Of course, choosing the right character is hard. If you pick one you don't really like, it can be difficult to write for them. On the other hand, if you really want to play the game, then you might have to settle for a similar character to Prowl until he becomes available. And you never know, you might come to really like whomever you choose.

I appreciate the kind words. Right now, I am in the mist of playing Wheeljack, which I thought that I would do alright with but in reality, I found him to very difficult to write and that I almost regret playing him.

In terms of Bluestreak, I was offered to play him for this RPG but I am afraid that he would be a very quiet one, which is totally out of character for him, if I put my personality into him. I could try to play Bluestreak. But I am having an extremely difficult time in coming up with a sample post for the application process, like I feared. So, at this point, my brain is in the process of giving up but my heart wants to play.

Are we supposed to post our character profiles, or is that a mod job?

You can go ahead and post them yourselves. One Char per topic, for easy searching.

For everyone's convenience, I am making a list of links here to important sections of the game, including a newly updated "how to apply" guide. It can be found here. http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=45567&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

JaAm brought up Skywarp's rank being 9. I believe that was an error on his original tech specs. He was erroneously given Starscream's stats I seem to recall. His actual rank, I think, is the same as Thundercracker's. Does any one know for sure?

The Tech Specs on the Database for Screamer, Warp and Cracker are all screwy. Starscream, for the sake of the game, has a rank of 8. As far as Cracker and Warp are concerned, they are both rank 5.

Final ranks are determined by mods, although we typically follow tech specs with some exceptions. Also, I would say the difference between rank 5 and 6 is close to negligible. Rank 7 and higher are typically recognized as officers with everything below being various levels of regular soldiers.

This is also a good time to bring up some of the profiles that we are still missing from the crash. Even if you were already approved you still need a profile posted. If you didn't back up your profiles then you will have to rewrite them.

That brings up a question for me. I am playing both Wheeljack and Bumblebee. Now when my profile for Bumblebee was accepted I was told he was the Autobot Executive Officer (second in command I assume) but Bumblebee's rank when I posted up the application was listed as 7. However Wheeljack has a rank of 8. Would it be better if they had their ranks switched?

*wonders about the status of her application* I hope I didn't mess it up *that* badly... :>

Don't worry, sometimes it tales the mods a while to get around to reading through and judging all of the applications. Not much is happening for the Autobot side of the RPG right now so you are not missing a lot.

Aah. I had thought that might be the case, but figured it couldn't hurt to check.
