I wanna hear more comics talk with Va'al. [-(

But seriously, I enjoyed when you had him on, and he's so into the comics and does such great reviews.

In one of the recent episodes, you guys talked about how you display figures on shelves, what kind of room conditions one should keep, and how to prevent (as much as possible) dust. My question: how do you go about cleaning a figure that has dust on it? I have been know to use a Q-Tip, but cleaning all my figures like that would be very tedious, and I have nowhere near the collection size most of you have.

Also, I'm not one to press a matter, but this question is relevent to all life as we now know it, and I really want your thoughts. I worked hard on this one! :D

Nemesis Maximo wrote:With Combiner Wars on the horizon, what has changed about Hasbro's mentality regarding combiners, specifically between what we have now and what we a few years ago, with the Combaticons?

When Bruticus was first revealed, I remember reading/hearing/what-have-you about how excited Hasbro was for the new Combination ports. Before then, the only really recent combiners had been PCC figures. They had decent combination gimmicks, and at a smaller scale than the then-current Generations line.

So I guess my question is: how did we go from a decent (for their size) combination gimmick with the Power Cores, to the mediocre attachment system of Fall of Cybertron, to what we have now with Combiner Wars?
AND, what do you think Hasbro was thinking with each iteration?

Thanks!

I don't know if it has been discussed before,

what do you think of the new 'ties' that keep the toys in their box?

I was gonna pop this into our agenda for the next episode, but then I realized Mr. Jivoin does an excellent job of answering this in Episode 111. That's way better than we would have done with it!

What would your response be to Hasbro announcing a new Bruticus for Combiner Wars, for better or for worse?

I mean, I know it's unlikely. But still, it's possible that Hasbro will listen to the feedback and release at least a MASSIVELY retooled Bruticus.

Why o unlikely? I myself am VERY hopeful (hopeful, optimistic, but not neccassarily banking on it) that HasTak will make a Bruticus for the Generations. Not only do they have two figures to use as bases, but the enthusiasm with which most of the fandom has recieved the Combiner Wars nearly ensures that this isn't something they'll only use for a year. I think we might be seeing combination-compatible toys for the foreseeable future.

Of course, maybe I'm totally off. Who knows?

Hey there guys I'm a long time listener, first time caller;

I started collecting a little over 5 years ago, I managed to buy more generations toys than g1. Would it be wise to continue collecting both g1 and generations or stick with either line. I like both lines but its becoming too pricy, any advice? :CON:

Welcome to the boards, LordME! :D

So on the one hand, the G1 toyline is ended (notwithstanding rereleases and reissues) and you would be able to set a goal for exactly what you want to get from that.

On th other, Generations is still going strong and has some really awesome updates to figures released back in the day or new interpretations of characters who never even had figures.

So I guess it boils down to whichever brings you more pleasure.

Depending on who's on the next episode, this could be a really fantastic question with a gigantic range of answers, and it should be fun.

Thanks for the question, I'll make sure this is on the next one or the one after :)

Been a while since I asked a question.

Last Saturday (April 11, 2015) saw veteran G1 voice actor Michael Bell make his long-awaited return to Transformers cartoon media as the voice of the brand new Autobot character High Tide in Transformers: Rescue Bots. Though more prominently known as the voice of G1 characters like Prowl, Sideswipe, Scrapper, Swoop, Bombshell, etc., Bell did not play a new version of any of his established characters (like how Peter Cullen does for Optimus, Frank Welker for Megatron and Soundwave, Gregg Berger for Grimlock in Fall of Cybertron, etc.), but instead provided the voice for a new, modern character he had never been before.

My question is, how do you feel about classic Transformers voice actors, who are known as the voices for certain iconic characters of the past, returning to Transformers as the voices of all new characters instead of as the voices of new versions of the iconic characters they were already known for?

Like, do you wish that they had instead returned to voice new versions of the characters they had already played (like the aforementioned cases of Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, and Gregg Berger), or do you like that they get to try out new character roles instead just new versions of their previous character roles?

Isn't it the voice actor's job to voice a character, regardless of prior roles? I mean that'd be like asking, how do you feel about frank welker doing the voices for both Fred and Scooby in the new Scooby doo show?

And what exactly is wrong about asking fans how they feel about a guy they know from an iconic role doing a different role instead of the iconic role? Cuz that's the point of my question, not the fact that Bell is doing his job. >:oP

No, what I'm saying is the fact it's they're job is kinda negating your question. It's their job to act and emote for media, no matter what character they're playing, whether their iconic role, or an extra. A more legitimate question would be on the quality of their acting from character to character, not "Person x was most famous for (insert character here), and he/she is (insert character here) how do you feel about a person doing their job. It's like asking "A line cook at restaurant a, took a job as a line cook at restaurant b, opinions?"

Why don't you just let the Twincast folks do their job and get a chance to look over and decide to answer my question instead of you chastising it for no reason other than to put it down?

Believe it or not, people do have opinions on actors playing roles different from the ones that they're known for playing, and not everyone feels the same way about it. I'd like to know what the Twincasters feel about the matter, so kindly quit acting like you're the one who decides which questions they answer. You're not in charge of this thread, so please, just stop.

Alright, point one, I'm not chastising you're question, if it sounds that way, it isn't intentional, and even if I was, I wouldn't do it just to put you down. Point two; I am being earnest in my belief that it's that persons job to act for characters. What I was trying to get at was to hopefully see what your opinion on the subject was, I'm sorry if came off as abrasive, but I was trying to segway it to be you opinion next; I should've just said "what's you're opinon?". Point the third; no I don't think i'm the decider by any means, nor do I think I control the thread, it's an open discussion. Point four, It's not like i'm the only person here who has responded to other peoples questions before the twincast.

I was really surprised to hear Rotorstorm and a few other podcasters were still buying their figures at retail. Since you guys live in the states, BBTS offers decently priced shipping and you get your toys far sooner instead of waiting for them to get to retail. You would never have to hope a toy is available at the store.

I wait for retail because I live in Canada and toys appear at retail before they appear at Toysrus.ca and Walmart.ca. And the custom fee, exchange and shipping doesn't make it worthwhile to order from BBTS for new Hasbro products which I could just purchase locally. And retail has discounts every 2 months or so, making it worth the wait even more. That's my reason for waiting for a retail release, what's yours?

It's fun to find figures in stores.

I too often rely on the online shopping for all my action figure needs. But not many things beat the experience of finding Thrilling 30 Springer AND Blitzwing earlier than the west coast, on the same day, in the same store, and exclaiming "Holy Crap Sticks!" In the middle of Target. True story.
