Is there any age that if you collect transformers or any toys at that age it is considered stupid or whatever? I don't think so I love having my room filled with Bayformers(yeh I mostly have movie toys, so what!?)

what am I supposed to do with them when I'm older? I haven't kept the boxes :/

Life is too short to worry about age, Do what you want with it if collecting transformers gives you a buzz in life enjoy it as long as you can to make even better take some out of the box if not all of them.

You should have kept some boxes i even keep the packets i just cut along the bottom and down the side of the plastic.

You're too old if you feel too old.

/\ this. Don't feel to old yet and I don't like keeping them in the boxes, from now on I will keep the box. The first box I ever kept was DOTM Megatron's. And if I ever sell them, they will be in cardboard boxes with bubble rap LOL

I hope the answer isn't 40.

Seriously tho, I don't think there is a "too old" for any hobby. It's a matter of enjoying it. Once toys stop making you happy, it's time to stop. I like TFs because they engage my mind- I love modding them to work and look better, and I love analyzing their designs and marveling at the transformations. (And making pew-pew sounds once in a while.) I hope I never "outgrow" that.

ill be honest as others have said youre never too old but having said that when it becomes tiresome or difficult to transform them due to age related causes (arthritis) and the like it can feel pointless to continue. as far as the boxes everything goes up in value over time maybe incrementally and some more than others but in 20-30 yrs your figures may not be worth a fortune but youll sell them and make out just fine.
just enjoy them for as long as you physically/ mentally can and keep growing the collection. :D

I am 40, I have collected since I was a teen. I will continue to collect until I die. It is a hobby and everyone needs one to keep them self busy.

Do your own thing and do not worry about what society or other people say about your hobbies.

Well I'm 42, have my own kids and still haven't found out the answer to that question. I guess I'll be too old when I'm dead......or broke. Whichever comes first.

I'm 31 and have been into Transformers since I was 3 (in 1983) so I am the wrong person to ask.

You shouldn't go past 13...my mom signed a permission slip for a 22 year extention, though. I'm currently in the process of filing an additional extention as I'm in the 22nd year of that agreement.

I'm 38, married with 3 kids. The older I get the more I enjoy collecting and watching my kids get excited about them is always a plus. I've never had a friend or family member say anything about my collecting because, especially the older you get, the more people realize that having a hobby is a good, honest way to spend spare time.

Never too old. And don't let your better half say otherwise.

I turned 34 recently and I feel that my collecting NOW is the childhood I never really had growing up. I often wonder had I gotten the many desires when I was young, maybe I would have shed the interest of collectibles past and present? I don't mean being spoiled rotten at all (though one can dream), I'm just stating that due to events in my past as a kid I feel that those events denied me the TF's I could've had.

I'm married now with no kids yet, but I imagine myself with my kid going to the toy section and seeing the reaction :KREMZEEK: from my kid on that one new toy they wanted. That is me in my mind everytime I get the newest TF into my collection or just going through my collection I still get those feelings! Hell I may have to bribe the kid and say "I will buy you a new toy if you don't tell mom about dad's new toy okay?". Small price to pay to continue to do what it is you love.

We as fans and TF collectors are a part of something that has been around for more than 20 years! That being said we can choose to keep it or share it but no matter how we choose it's ours, some have their Hot Wheels and some have Barbies. TF's will be here after I'm gone I think but here we are and here I am a collector then and a collector NOW...'nuff said! :CON:

Pffft. You're never too old. I hope I'll still be collecting when I'm 70.

I first heard of Transformers in 1986. 2 years after they were officially kicked off by Hasbro. My parents considered me too old for them at 15 yrs of age. I am 40 yrs old now and I still collect. I will die collecting transformers if it's in my power and ability. Anyone who thinks I'm too old or not a man at all can keep their opinion to themselves 'cuz I don't care.

you're too old to collect once the muscle tissue has rotted away from your hands and you can no longer select a toy from the shelf.

The "outside world" answer: Like, twelve years old. After that you're a weird nerd that everyone has the right to make fun of for playing with toys when you should be playing football.

The TF fan's answer: Keep collecting as long as you want. It's your hobby. You aren't forcing it on anyone else. Everyone has their own hobby; to each his own.

The older the better. They tend to have more experience and can bake you cookies when you're done with them.

OH

We're talking about age limits in regards to toy collecting?

F$%$

There isn't a limit.

Realize, when you get older, you get more $$$$

You can buy all the **** you missed when you were younger and buy all the new stuff that's coming out.

Don't ever fell pressured to quit collecting. It's like someone breathing down your neck when you're submitting your ballot in a federal election.

I didn't read any of the posts yet except for the first. There is no age limit to something you like to do. And don't forget, look who are the ones that get paid big bucks to design the damn things. Now, there are some things that can make you appear odd. At my local store, there is this weird guy that comes in, very creepy looking, and he's always buying little girl style cartoons. But, your innocent until proven guilty on something, right?
